  1. Looks nice, but if it’s a gacha game I’m staying as far from it as possible.

Most free to play games are already aids as they are. Warframe just stands enough out of the threshold for me to enjoy it without feeling exploited.

Experiencing gacha for the first time in Genshin tho, was enough of a turn off from that money sinkhole of genre for me. I think I’m good.

  2. Really thinking about it... what frustrates me the most is how the skins got lumped into the fomo with the 10 year anniversary accolade. I understand why the accolade would be exclusive and available for a limited time.... but the skins? really? how are they any better than deluxe skins? you tell me? They look nice, but not as good as most deluxe skins. They barely even change the physique of the frames like deluxe skins do. They're nothing special. And it makes the egregious pricing all the more sickening in retrospect.

If I end up buying them... I don't even think I'll use these skins enough to justify the price. I have deluxe skins for mag and frost that I personally like more. This is the one thought that is holding me back from caving in. Is just how "not worth it" the heirloom pack really is.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get the heirloom skins and play around with them in fashion frame.
But their "value" is grossly bloated. Their prestige is in anniversary representation alone. HOW ARE SO MANY FOLKS NOT SEEING THIS?

I'm telling you, if the yearly heirloom packs continue this trend, trying to be "better deluxe skins" when they don't even stand out enough, while still costing more than the other skins in the market. This whole discourse and the split in the community is not going to end. The tension in the warframe community is just not fun right now. I'm tired of this crap.

YES, I DO NOT CARE IF THEY ARE CHEAPER THAN THIS YEAR'S HEIRLOOM BUNDLES. IF THEY COST MORE THAN DELUXE SKINS AND STILL HAVE FOMO. I WILL BE SEVERLY DISAPPOINTED. AND SO SHOULD YOU. ALL OF YOU DESERVE BETTER!
This isn't some "gamer vs developers" rant like the whole Baldur's gate 3 being the new standard debacle. This isn't good for us or DE's future. TRUST ME.
Warframe isn't forever, and if it goes that direction, I fear for it's longevity, the community and what's in store.

Heirloom skins should be treated as what they really are, additional deluxe skin bundles with a halo instead of a weapon skin. If it would have released this way, we would have had the best momentum warframe has had in years, especially after what a blast tennocon 2023 was.

  3. Gotta be honest, this entire discourse, and the constant reminder of the skin pack on the in game market, just makes me feel gross. I had taken a break form the game due to burnout for several months. When I got back for duviri, I had a blast getting caught up.
This years Tennocon was also freaking amazing, probably one of the best ones so far. I was super excited after it was over, until I saw the whole hierloom fiasco.

I'm telling ya guys, I think I need another break...
I can barely muster the strength to farm for the weekly archon shard. I even skipped a few weeks and haven't touched anything else in game. I'm just not enjoying Warframe with this whole thing clouding my mind whenever I play.

The way the devstream tossed it under the rug also left a bad taste in my mouth. Having a difficult time getting excited for the new update. Man... this is one of my favorite games, feeling this way about it sucks. Feel so hollow towards warframe at the moment. Really hope the yearly heirloom skins won't worsen this feeling.

  4. It was discussed a while back that Nechromechs would be getting Archwing melee weapons, is improved nechromech melee still being considered? Will we possibly also get arch melee reworks for summonable Arch melee for warframes like we did with arch guns?

It's only Fomo if you make it Fomo.

I... can't tell if you're serious or not.

Whether people do or don't fall for it... that doesn't make the practice subjective. The intentions behind the practice are the same regardless if it's unsuccessful in baiting people.

And the folks that aren't falling for it... are the ones calling it out as being Fomo... what is your logic here exactly?

How do you "not make it Fomo"?
I can't win here. If I refuse to support it, I'm acknowledging it's an egregious business practice. If I do buy it, that means I caved in.

You cannot change my mind that there are bloatings like extra plat and regal aya in these packs that I don't consider worth spending the money on. But I also really want those skins. And I do not have the luxury to hold on this decision without stress. Because even if the prices never change, so long as I always had the option to purchase it forever (or as long as warframe is still around), then I don't lose, even if I never buy it.
But with it's exclusivity, whether or not I end up getting it, I lose either way.

The Heirloom pack is just a S#&$show. If it was more fairly priced, the Fomo would still suck, but it would be more tolerable at the very least.

is this your first time seeing stuff limited? it is a common thing, it is meant to be exclusive, legacy, something for supporters of the game, something you can show off.

battlepasses in fortnite, overwatch, cod. those are exclusive and limited

gamersupps sell special edition limited with content creators imprints on them

youtooz sell limited figures of content creators

Its not something that D.E sudddenly made up

so stop crying your eyeballs out, they're becoming dry.

Bro... that is... not a good take. Being compliant of predatory practices because "enough companies do it now-a-days"? This isn't a matter of maturity, this is a matter of calling out BullS#&$. You don't need to speak up if you're shy or not as willing, but at least respect those that do. Other players/customers have your best interests at heart, massive Triple AAA video game conglomerates DO NOT.

I don't play most of those games for those very reasons. Warframe has always been an exception for me in the freemium market. While it's crossed the line just a little bit on occasion, for the most part I felt the game respected my time and money compared to many others like it. I've supported this game from the beginning. I saw a lot of promise in it. I still do. I've spent a lot of money on this game willingly because I wanted to support the devs, and while Prime packs aren't worth the cost either. Sometimes it felt justified because of how much DE has given me over the years.

But this heirloom stuff, I'm not willing to support it. It's a potential for more changes like it to come, and that's why so many of us are sharing our concerns and speaking up. We don't want warframe to become like those other games. Warframe has had miner exclusives before (with the exception of the founders pack, that was in no way minor. But at least DE remedied that with Umbra to some extent), and some not so great monetizations (like regal aya). But the devs have shown their concerns and listened to us over the years.
I know they care, and obviously the pricing and greed behind the heirloom packs wasn't their doing. I don't blame the developers. It came from higher ups in the chain. From the people that don't really listen, which is why we gotta cry out hard enough, okay?

I just want to add to that..... why do you even play the damn game if it's to buy everything with real money ? why do you play warframe which is a full on farming game, everything in the game require you TO FARM FOR STUFF YOU WANT. Regal aya (pay to win/skip)  is not an excuse to clutter and utterly ruin a celebration pack for everyone who supported DE in the past 10 years !

You know what... YEAH! That's also a good point. A non regal aya option isn't just mindful for players who have already farmed the primes in the past, but also for those who would rather farm them now as well!

Plus, The Regal Aya is for the people that do not own the frames. Because they are both in prime resurgence currently.

ok... good for those players. Glad an option for them is on DE's mind. But how is that an excuse to not also have an option for those who already have the primes, some of us who've even had them since their debut?

I'm with PsiWarp on this improvement. The beam should scale up based on things like enemy density so that the more enemies you can hit, the greater damage it deals. This is a common function in abilities and even frames like Zephyr and Yareli have multipliers that scale on the number of enemies they hit.

There is one thing, though, that would make the suggested changes better:

Rather than a Corrosive proc, make that a % Defense Strip. Make it low base, like 10%, but so that with Strength you would only reasonably average out at around 20% to 25% (unless you're min-maxing to heck and back).

With that it would take a couple of seconds to fully strip shields and armour, but it would strip them. The Viral and Magnetic procs from the other two Motes would ensure that the damage against both Shields and Armour would increase even if you don't have the Defense Strip active, so even an un-optimised cast would be good.

On the other hand, an actual rework would definitely look more like Zahnny's:

We have Protea's turrets already, a rework to Sol Gate would make them something similar and promote Wisp's more mobile gameplay.

You cast to open the portal, beam it around, can increase the damage with your fire button, and the motes have all the effects that PsiWarp listed. But if you hold-cast, (at any time, even after casting) the portal is left behind and you can just leave it beaming at a location for a duration.

For balance it could have the interaction with Motes limited by... okay, on one side, it takes your Motes with it and you have to re-apply them. On the other, it could only have Motes if you cast it in range of a Mote Well. Each Mote would increase that duration of the detached beam, so having all three would be encouraged, and only one detached beam could exist (though casting one new wouldn't remove the old one until you detached it, so you could have two on the go).

Augment would turn the ability into something like a Sol Bomb, turns the beam into a radial function, but with four ticks of function in that radius (meaning damage scaling based on number hit going up for each tick, defense stripping, and Status procs).

ok, I like that idea. If it promotes Wisps mobility, then I'm into it!

Wisps 4 is awesome, but keep in mind shes supposed to be a support frame. Shes already OP as hell because she has infinite duration buffs, crowd control, invincibility, teleportation and also a nuke skill to top it all off. Its way more than any support class in any game has, even in warframe (look at trinity lol). So Id call a "no-nerf" to be already satisfactory, I dont see the need for any buff of wisp.

that is a good point. And turning wisp into a nuke ult frame wouldn't be the way to go. But in all honesty, I'd rather then turn wisps ult into a supportive ability. I already have my issues with frames that have one or two abilities that... feel lack luster. Like Chroma for example. And it feels even worse on a frame I really like (wisp). And it also being her ult of all things. I always helminth it out because I don't find enough of a use for it, especially not with the energy drain.

  11. The damage falling off and the energy drain aren't my only issues with Sol Gate. It's also how it goes against the philosophy for the rest of Wisp's kit. Her quickness and fluidity. Wisp is designed to constantly be on the move. Her passive and first 3 abilities support that. All of her other abilities are quick to cast, don't hinder her movement, and can be cast one after the other, and don't restrict each other's casts. I think Sol Gate feels bad to use on a frame like wisp.

I would prefer it be changed into an exalted beam weapon of sorts, rather than a continuous beam that prevents you from casting some of your other abilities. That way it would be less restrictive on wisp physically if it feels like wielding a weapon (like ivara's exalted bow). Plus, that way you can also mod the damage output and add additional crit and status procs as you like. Just imagine it functioning as it does now, except its only an upperbody animation, and the beam only shoots out when you're "firing" it like you would any beam weapon by holding the trigger button. While ur not firing, you can cast all of your abilities like normal.

Just a fun idea. Implementing something like would probably be more work than I imagine coding wise. All in all, I just wish Sol Gate scaled better, didn't cost too much energy, and also FEELS good to use on a frame like wisp without restricting any other aspect of her kit.
I hate that it's my go to Helminth replaceable ability on wisp.

DE knows that several warframes need urgent rework but they don't care!

yeah.... unfortunately they don't get as much attention from the playerbase as new frames.
But they're not being ignored or not considered. Just not very high on DE's priority.

Hopefully Hydroid and Inaros are next, (I mean, I think they're the ones that need it most). whenever that will be.

Oberon is an extremely versatile support frame that's mostly irrelevant past midgame: despite having a well-made kit with great synergy between his skills, he is very difficult to build (requiring way too much of too many stats to be played comfortably) and struggles significantly with Energy economy when not playing solo. This post is meant to propose buffs to his existing kit, while not making other Warframes seem weak in comparison. Additionally, all these skills make use of mechanics that already exist in-game, as an attempt to minimize the need for additional programming should they be implemented.

Passive - All of Oberon's skills have +100% effectiveness against Companions.

The 25% bonus to Armor, Health and Shields is not especially useful when pets as a whole are known for their frailty, especially when these values only stack additively to the existing Link mods. This new passive would keep to the theme of buffing companions, while being more useful overall.

Smite - Keep as is, or buff bonus damage to 50%. Increase Radiation status effect chance on the orbs to 100%.

By itself, Smite isn't a great skill, but it has a fantastic augment and scaling damage (horrible scaling damage, but damage nonetheless).

Hallowed Ground - Buff the base radius to 250° (enough for Stretch to be enough to cap it at 360°) and consider increasing the base Duration to 30 seconds and the base value for Iron Renewal to 300.

Hallowed Ground is a great skill: it deals respectable damage and provides constant soft crowd control so long as it's active. However, it requires way too much modding to be at maximum effectiveness. Very slight stat tweaks would make it much more convenient to use.

Renewal - Cap the energy drain at 10-15/second, make the augment built-in and consider either buffing the base value to 50/second or making it percentage-based, like Garuda's Blood Altar.

Despite having a higher base value when it comes to health/sec, it's inferior to Wisp's Health Mote in essentially every way. Oberon is punished for being in a group by having an Energy Drain that's hard to sustain, especially when considering the need for high Strength, Duration and Range for the rest of his kit makes it difficult to cap Efficiency. Assuming a 4-person squad with Companions, Oberon would have a base drain of 15 energy per second: should one of these squadmates be a Nekros with Shadows of the Dead active, that value is further increased to 22 energy/second. Making the augment built-in would additionally free up a mod slot for his build, thereby increasing player choice.

Reckoning - Make the base armor strip 65%, remove the need for comboing with Hallowed Ground in order for armor to be stripped and change the health orb drop chance to work like Blazing Chakram. Additionally, fix it working in the Steel Path.

Reckoning is both a nuke skill that can't nuke, and an armor strip skill that can't strip armor.  The base armor removal value (35%) is low, especially when compared to other frames (most notably, Caliban), and it only applying to enemies standing on Hallowed Ground makes it too expensive and unreliable for regular use. The reasoning for increasing the armor removal value to 65% is to make it comparable to Caliban: while his Fusion Strike is only 50% at base, it creates a zone that strips the armor of any enemies that walk into it, as opposed to Oberon's need to recast it for each new group of enemies. Additionally, 65% is just enough that +55% Power Strength (equal to two Umbral mods or Transient Fortitude) would be enough to cap it. Making the health orb drop chance function based on enemies being hit as opposed to being killed by the skill would help it remain relevant past the point where enemies stop being one-shot by it, as well as increasing build variety by making Health Conversion a viable option. Lastly, the armor strip on Reckoning has not worked with enemies that have bonus armor (like those in Sorties and the Steel Path) for over three years at this point. Fixing it would undoubtedly increase the amount of people playing him.

Honestly wish they kept his old passive alongside his new one, where enemy animal companions switched sides and fought alongside you. I don't think benefiting your companions is enough imo. Although I do agree with you buffing the base companion buffs as well. Just saying both would be nice. Just make Oberon the animal guy lol.

I agree with everything else tho. Oberon has solid abilities functionally at their core and isn't in need of a massive overhaul or reworked abilities like Inaros or anything. The base stats just need buffs and some QOL. Some really good stuff you got here!!! Plus these kind of changes would be a lot easier for DE to implement than reworking abilities.

Although I would probably just make Oberon's renewal not scale in cost at all for Nekros shadows. They should just be freebies. Honestly I wouldn't even be bothered if teammates didn't cost additional energy to heal at all. I wouldn't consider that broken or excessive in this day and age of warframe. But a capped drain is still leagues better than it is now, I wouldn't complain either way.

  14. On 2022-08-15 at 11:06 AM, Frendh said:

I strongly disagree with removing synergy between Reckoning and Hallowed ground.  Not many warframes have synergies, so don't make Oberon more boring.

I dunno. It feels too forced and clunky imo. Doesn't feel quite right to me. It hurts the fluidity of the frame compared to others. Really limits the helminth system too. I'd rather they make Hollowed ground good without needing to rely on the synergy to make it worth using for armor boosting and armor stripping.

I don't mind Oberon having synergy, but that's the thing, it needs to synergize, not be solely dependent on the other ability. Saryn's Spores and Toxic lash are a better example of synergy, or even hildryn's Pillage and Haven (with the pillage augment), where both abilities can still function on their own, have a solid use, but add extra OOMPH when used together. With Oberon, it's too crippling and takes time to set up, while keeping track of players and enemies and keeping them in the hollowed ground before you cast Renewal or his Ult. And to be honest, Hallowed ground, Renewal, and his ult all don't do enough on their own. They all could use some work.

  15. I wouldn’t say most older frames need a rework. Mostly just quality of life changes and tweaks/buffs. A new passive would be nice (since older frames just had a generic passive slapped onto them that don’t really play into their kit)

ash’s ult could maybe use a much bigger reticle to lock in enemies easier.

Trinity’s link could have a longer duration or be changed into a toggle ability.

make Loki’s decoy invulnerable, make invisibly an upper body cast animation so it won’t freeze loki on the spot if you aren’t airborne, allow switch teleport to be held so you can swap with decoy without having to face it. Let his ult affect infested in some way, like slowing them down and crippling their speed or something.

Give nyx’s mind control target infinite duration (like wukong’s clone). It can be canceled or die from natural causes. Give mind control target a massive damage boost against enemies under the effects of chaos. Improve the damage scaling and energy costs of her ult.

Change frost’s first ability into several pellets of ice fired in a small cone in front of him instead of a single target pellet that is easy to miss targets with. Snow globe could be changed to allow teammates to shoot through it like gara‘s wall. Frost could definitely use a better passive that plays into his kit, like “receives a damage boost against enemies affected by cold procs or whatever”.

    These are just random examples.

i think their core abilities are fine, and their mechanics and functions are fine. Just needs buffs and tweaks and quality of life changes to be brought more up to speed. (And actual passives for sure). Full on reworks take a lot of time and work. And as much as we’d like them, they don’t seem to spark a lot of interest from players according to the numbers. Tweaks and buffs seem more reasonable and manageable. Although that doesn’t mean all of our old favorites will receive touch ups. We can dream and hope though.

That being said, in my opinion, there are a few frames that could really use a full on rework/overhaul. Frames that are in a similar state to Grendal before he received his rework. With abilities that barely function well, cost too much energy, or are difficult to make use of or barely have uses at all.

Hydroid, half of chroma’s kit, and half of Atlas’s kit are probably the few frames that come to mind, imo. Buffs and tweaks alone won’t save abilities like barrage, undertow, hydroid’s ult, fire breath, chroma’s ult, Rock wall, and Atlas’s ult. They were either half kit frames (Chrome and Atlas) or fairly mediocre (Hydroid) since their respective launch. And what tweaks and changes they’ve received already didn’t help them enough.

Leave a reply of what you think.

I really love your ideas. The change to grendel’s 1 is exactly what I’m looking for in a gameplay change with grendel. Encouraging grendel to keep eating and constantly have enemeis stewing in his gut to be able to rely on the rest of his kit more is perfect!!!

Any other changes I would suggest is to make nourish armor actually give you some additional armor.

I think that his 3 should really do more damage and possibly some form of status aoe. How about some aoe toxic/corrosive/gas damage that scales based on the hp of the enemy being upchucked. And the damage type toxic/corrosive/gas (corpus/grineer/infested) depending on enemy faction?

as for pulverize. I really wish DE allowed it to swallow up enemies like it did in the devstreams pre-release. Most of Grendel’s damage comes from burning up enemies in his gut and spewing them out. Not from impact damage.

Will Chroma be seeing any further changes in the future. Most notably his ult?

  18. I don’t think DE would consider giving rhino more armour with how much mileage rhino can get from ironclad charge. Personally I’d wanna see rhino primes armor at an even steven 300 like Frost and Excalibur prime/umbra, But it would be more for my ocd than rhino really needing that extra 25 armor.

Excalibur doesn’t need better stats, he needs a rework for his 3rd ability maybe, but lord, with umbral mods Excalibur prime and umbra are pretty hard to kill already (And umbra literally already has the full set of polarities built in). And he has radial blind/roar so... just slap on adaption and life strike and umbra becomes very hard to kill.

Saryn is literally the dps goddess, with a powerful Agro pull, and large stun. Her abilities do a pretty good job of keeping her alive, she doesn’t really need to be a tank.

Frost could probably go for a rework (his kit is still good but it’s starting to feel it’s age among newer frame releases) and his prime needs a stat boost as well. Frost prime, being one of the oldest primes, means he only got one stat boost, and it was shields. He could really use a speed boost like both Rhino and Saryn prime.

we don’t need all frames to play like inaros. There are a plethora of squishy frames that survive just fine with their kit alone. And having middle of the road tanky frames is fine still so long as their kit does the job. Plus we have shield gating now, all of these frames just got another layer of reaction time to survive.

Is current R3 guardian getting nerfed and it will need to be R5 to reach 600 armor? Or is all you get for ranking up guardian past R3 10 extra seconds of duration (and the 20% activation chance is reduced to 15%).

Guardian doesn’t seem worth ranking up to R5 as much as the other arcanes for just 10 extra seconds of duration...

So if arcane guardian’s stat values do indeed worsen at R3, and If I have to get another 10 Guardian arcanes just to go get back up to the same stat values for rank 5, I find it... oddly insulting.

You couldn’t have just buffed all of the other arcane’s R3 values and left guardian at 600 at R3?

don’t get me wrong, all of the other changes sound great. And with shield gating being added, I can understand the blow to arcane aegis. But I can’t get behind arcane guardian. Especially with all of the other armor arcanes being buffed considerably.

Also, please hide the end of game stats for other players. They only lead to toxicity. Do display the players own end of game stats (Damage dealt, damage taken, total kills, blah blah), but hide what the other players did. We don't need to know that, and neither does anyone else. All it does is create a stupid sense of competition that shouldn't even exist in a cooperative environment, and that sense of competition brings with it toxic behavior. So just hide it. It's unnecessary and doesn't help in any positive way.

I’m 100% down with that. Brozime brought this up as well. None of these stats really matter, and have little to nothing to do with objectives in the game. Oh but players sure do get overly aggressive over who dealt the most damage.
