  1. I think part of the problem is the drops were not actually as rare as they implied they were.

    (as often as artifacts? lol.)

I'm not hot and bothered because I have plenty of other content to mow through and chew on.  But the alert system in general needs work.

Would rather be lucky in game and rely on RNG and a heavy grind (or challenging task!) than rely on Real life luck and just being on there when things are up.  :|

I am not playing the game when all i have to look forward to are drops that don't rely on me being in game. And thats no fun.

  2. DE has spoken!

30 is the new number considering us small clans.

We will test this - will give our feedback - and move from there.

My initial thoughts: 30...  Better than 50!

6x as hard vs 10x as hard.  (for my group of 5)
Was hoping for a 3x or 4x as hard option - judging by the posts in this topic I'm not alone.  But we know nothing of these values.  These might be considering "10 active, 10 semi- active, and 10 inactive" members in which case the balance issues are non -existent and all will be well in the world of warframe.

    https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/55421-update-8-related-work/

  3. I almost believe there should be mini objectives in the void that if you complete them you are rewarded forma or a forma BP at the end of the void mission.  (in addition to whatever your ? reward is at the end)

Similar to the "challenges" that appear in the bottom right hand side at the start of a mission.

The key would be making them more noticeable, letting people realize they are optional, and making them mildly challenging, yet totally random.  (something you can't prepare for in advance)

Things like "Kill all enemies using melee + powers", "use only your primary weapon", "loot 15 chests", etc.

Harder than the normal challenges, but achievable if you put effort towards them.

  4. Thanks for fixing the drop rates on Blades, recievers & Frost Prime parts BPs. Finally managed to craft the stuff yesterday, got the blade & Frost systems BP in less than 10 Exterminate III runs.

Too bad the dojo stuff is still too expensive for small clans though...

They said they took note of our pleas.

The only worry I have is about that comment about 50 players being a small clan.

    https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/54708-50-is-not-a-small-clan/

We just have to wait and see what their verdict is.  We will test it.  And if we need to give further feedback we will give it.

  5. I just want to say, I am in a clan of 50, and it is a small clan... I don't know everyone very well, but I am slowly learning more about them as we run games together...

We don't expect to have our dojo finished in a weekend like the larger clans have, we just enjoy playing in a small clan of like minded people...

If you join the clan for the beliefs of the clan and not for the size you already have something in common with the other people there...

If you stay in only a clan of 4 people that always runs together, how do you expect to meet new people?

now I don't have anything against clans with ~10 people, but these clans of 1 or 2 people.... you aren't even enough for a full squad....

I don't think i've seen a single post in this topic about a clan of 1-2 people and asking that they be treated "equally"

As I said before - there is a difference between "solo" content and "group" content.  Everyone here has acknowledged that so far as I've read.

No one is asking to be put on the same scale as the 1000 member clans.

Just that we have our OWN scale (which we are completely fine with  it being harder.  Just so long as DE remembers we as a group size exist and want to enjoy the content too.

The point of the topic was to prove that 50 is not what a GOOD portion of the player base considers "a  small clan"

A giant red flag  went up in my mind when i heard this during the live stream and I wanted to make sure DE got some feedback on it.

(Which, keep the feedback coming guys)

  6. I am a closed beta tester (since january) there has been plenty of content that keeps my "stock piles" low.

Most of the new weapons  act as a resource sink - don't think clan dojos should have (if they were... no explicit statement on it)  been resource sinks to rid players of their stocks.

They should be considered balanced for new players too.  (who have very few resources in general when it comes to the game because all of the weapons cost mats now... which I will never... understand- but since it doesn't affect me and I dont' want to reset I'll never know "just how hard of a struggle" it is.)

  7. Which means if DE is making that same assumption their really balancing around a 20 man clan. If over half the clan is typically offline or very casual and there is minority working hard at it then what you have is really a 20 man clan.

When you say your balancing for 50 man clans that comes across as saying 50 active people. If they're really balancing for 20 active people then they should say they're balancing for 20 man clans instead.

If I say I need 50 people to build a wall, I expect those 50 people to be working on the wall. Not 20 people working and 30 people standing around swigging beer and grabbing their crotches. Or better yet, I'm making video game with 50 people and expect only 20 of them to put in any actual work on it.

    +1 to this lol. Dx

  8. That's not what you said. You said, "Eat your @$@# and like it." You imposed a value judgement about how we should feel about something we don't like. You said we should swallow our unhappiness and enjoy this blessing that they've chosen to bestow upon us.

No they didn't. That was part of the question. MY question.

No need to get down and dirty - it will just give them a reason to censor posts etc.

He is drinking his coffee and maybe he will be more constructive towards the general consensus of this topic once he is done.

He is only human like the rest of us - he is entitled to his own opinions and feelings - we just would like to hope he is more respectful and willing to understand ours in the future.

  9. This is a really good idea worth considering.

I hope DE takes a peak at it... It addresses the concerns they have talked about publicly so far (blowing through content) and it addresses clan sizes and their grinding ability.

The values themselves I have not thought about in a balance sense - I will admit. But I will certainly put my 2 cents on those when I have time to really get down and open a spreadsheet :P

The more chances one has to "dump their resources" onto it - the better imo.

Maybe making it in increments of 1000 resources will knock down the time a %

This gives people a sense of accomplishment and encourages active playing.

  10. Why denying clans of 15 or less a way to get things ? At the moment Time isn't even an issue at it's the grind and the forma.

Why not replace a part of the grind with Time ?

For instance : cut the prices by 5, up the waiting time by 5 and let dojo pay the prices up to 5 times (each time the ramaining time would be reduced)

    As in saying:

"You can spend 1000 alloy and have it done in 10 days with no option to speed it up"

    OR

"you can spend 4000 alloy and have it done in 1 day with no option to speed it up"

(or making the option to speed it up cost a variable amount of platinum based on time left)

    ?

  11.  Your word isn't as good as the word of the people who designed the game Trauma. It they shot specifically for 10-20 person clans then they might as well just trash clan content altogether.

They want to balance things to be more viable for a group of 50 instead of significantly more.

Out of 50 players it is highly likely the clan will only have 20 people who are serious contributors because of their playtime. THAT is what they want to be able to work for. To make it work out better for that.

You should be overjoyed. This works out better for you then the current situation.

You have no right to discredit my value or input on this game blatant.  I suggest you "get some coffee" before you repeat what happened last topic.

  12. 50 IS pretty small. I'm content with that number, it is the low end of the sweet spot.

Anything less then that and you'll be balancing content far too low to really consider it group content.

You are in a 1000+ member clan.

    ANYTHING in comparison is small.

That is where the problem lies.  A good majority of players are already in these mega clans and 50 (in comparison to 1000) IS small.

But to a GOOD CHUNK of the player base.  50 is large.

I happen to be in that chunk.  As do several others - we have every right to enjoy all of the content as you do without being forced to play by "their standards" which never existed till this update.

There is a difference between "group content" and "solo content"

No one is asking you to make ALL of the content viable to for solo players or even players with 5 members such as mine.

As a member of a 5 person clan (which will never get larger to our knowledge)

I would be OVERJOYED to hear I have to work 3x as hard to be "balanced" in the eyes of a 15 person "small clan"

I accept the fact we have to work harder - I look forward to it.

But telling us to work 3x as hard is a LOT better sounding than telling us to work 10x as hard to match up to a 50 person clan.

  13. Well, it is very small compared to these 'member spam' clans with 2500 members.

My clan is around 60 - a nice number , because I personally know everyone and we can still get things done.

For the dojo, and whatever else they have planned - 50 will be the minimum , I expect.

Did you meet all 60 of those friends in another game such as WoW or an MMO that had "raids" where it was acceptable to have 50 players playing in one instance and working together.

Because its unlikely to meet and know 50 players in warframe and have EVERYONE know eachother well.

It would be very much "a friend of a friend" or "a name I recognize"

That is what a clan is to me.  A place where everyone knows everyone.

  14. I am in complete agreement with the notion that 50 is not small. I'm waiting for the final numbers from their promised "revision" to come out before I get upset with it, but this is a concerning tidbit. Also, the comment that dismissed concerns about pricing as a desire for instant gratification was insulting.

While I admit it was slightly insulting.  I do admit that there is a big tendency for players to want access to all of the new content instantly - I agree steve and you have a very hard time finding that balance.

I do think that this is a clear cut case of the prices are too high.

I did some crunching and my clan will have dojo completed (and by completed I mean "ready to start researching all content and nothing else extra") in 6 months.

6 months of playing every day for 5 hours and farming.  This is not including pricing of normal rank up expenses for my teammates (who are newer and still need to build/buy weapons while I don't really need to).  This is not even including the ridiculous forma requirements.  This is just us farming for the raw materials.

6 months is fine for end game content... but in 6 months we will be 4 updates further into this game probably.  And my group will just finally be READY to start researching (which costs astronomical too I hear...)

  15. I'm just letting you know DE.

    Because communication is key.

I'll hold my tongue till I see/hear more.  I'm glad that you addressed the issue in your live stream.

But I will tell you right now 50 is NOT a small clan.

I don't even have 50 friends on my STEAM friends list.  I have about 30 and I don't even know all of them.  Many were a 1 time add and I never talked to them again... You can't expect me to know and bond with 50 people in your game and treat them like family.  (because to me a clan is a online family or group of very close IRL friends.)

I know people who play this game as a family.  Sons + daughters, mothers + fathers.

You really can't lock people out of an unsurpassable or overly daunting wall or frankly we wont support you in turn.  You don't support us and our playstyle and we wont support you and your change of heart.

Warframe is a 4 person co-op game.  A 15 person clan is a clan that has 2-3 groups of 4 playing and maybe 3-7 of them are offline at work still.

A 50 person clan is 10 groups of 4 and maybe 10 people offline.

    10 groups of 4...
Do you realize what that would be like in a large teamspeak or chat?  It becomes an unhearable garbled mess of people talking over each other and potato chips and people not muting their mics/not PTT'ing properly.. Hell teamspeak doesn't even let you HAVE that many free slots, the real freemium route only allows 32 people to connect to the server.

You expect me to communicate and interact with these people like close friends or family...?

This is not even considering the fact that there is NO incentive to join a small clan.

    NONE.

A new player goes into the chat asking to join a clan - if you notice they ask "how many members do you have?", "What dojo buildings do you have already",  "What have you researched?".

What incentives are there for a complete stranger to be recruited into your small clan?  "They seem friendly?" Plenty of the large clans are "friendly".

The people looking for a clan are the people who are looking for the BENEFITS of a clan.  The people who want a small clan who aren't already IN a small group of players they play with are few and far between.

You need to balance for all ends of the spectrum.  You need to remember that there are SEVERAL sects of your community that adhere to this small group of close knit friends mentality.  50 member clans are NOT small.

Great livestream though - I love to hear from you and I hope we get to hear from you more in the future with the "Dev hot topics" topic.  I hope you consider this when you get around to balancing things like you have promised to do.

We will be as patient as we need to be DE.  Just so long as you tell us it is coming and that it is something that considers EVERY play style and group size.

    EDIT: small addition.
    EDIT2: redacted because of Edit 3 ---> V
EDIT 3: DE has spoken!  I urge you to read their official response:

     https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/55421-update-8-related-work/

  16. So i was in region chat and there was a new player who was asking for help (and getting swarmed with responses)

I set aside  with them and offered to teach them how the game functioned in a private 2 person match.

Figured I would do my good deed for the day - it was not like I was really doing anything productive in the game  at the moment lol Need to take a break from endless defense every now and then xD haha.

So about a half hour into it they are getting the hang of things and right before we both had to leave we did M-prime.

Wouldn't you know it?  A raid tower key dropped xD  (I farmed m-prime 50 times to see how "viable" it was and got 0 keys on it just yesterday)

I didn't want to give them information overload (because its hard being a new player when so much is being shoved into your brain at the start.) So they probably have no idea what it was - they never asked me.

One day - when the new player is less new though and goes to do tower raids they will already have a key.

And the RNG 'gods' have blessed me with a key for my good deed xD

    TL ; DR

Help new players.  The RNG gods will smile upon your deeds.

  17. This, as they say.

    It's not that 50 is scarry ..

    It's that 50 is unwieldy for a 4 player co-op game.

    I don't even have 50 STEAM friends - I have about 30 and I don't even remember/know all of them.

Do you really expect me to interact with 50 people like family?

Hell.  Some people DO play this as a family.  Sons + daughters with their Father + Mothers.

You going to throw the family groups out the window too DE?  >_>

I'm not naysaying and I'm holding my tongue until the livestream.

But REALLY - you should remember a very large portion of your player base is feeling betrayed right now.  Throwing us out or telling us to change the way we have played this game so far because you "think 50 is a fine number for a clan"

You are going to have a very angry group of players on your hands.
