  1. This thing is so stupid... I've put in several hours of missions to get enough resonance, and it didn't give me any indication that there was a puzzle or something I had to do... jumped on a platform, fell, resonance gone, and it didn't tell me why.  The game just assumes that people are googling everything that isn't intuitive at all.

... garbage nightwave event so far.  The time spent on this 'story' would be a lot better spent on game development because the plot line isn't engaging and it's just another grind.

Is there even any reward for doing these tedious cutscenes?

Everything as shown on dev stream 139

... That's not an answer, and him hoping to get an answer if kind of the purpose of a forum.  DE even creates this thread for people who missed or weren't going to watch the whole dev stream, and because text-based communication allows for more specific review.  His point that it isn't clear from their post is very valid, as is his question.

Is anyone willing to answer Hislysss' question?  Because I would be interested to know as well.

That's nice and all, but 100%+ status not doing anything is a not really an issue. The main problem with status is that it only works on trash mobs that die easily without it anyway. Tough enemies that you would want to use status against the most are arbitrarily immune to it (liches, Wolf, and various other mini/bosses). That is the main thing that needs to change.

SordidDreams... you hit the nail on the head.

Almost all of these changes sound like big steps in the right direction, but making status a truly viable build requires giving more thought to bosses than just making them status immune.  You should be able to find more novel solutions to limit cheese tactics while still keeping players engage/challenged in the fights and rewarding a combination of status, dps and other tactics.

Also, requiring tons of specialised builds discourages social play because of the delays for switching builds.  There should be challenges that reward making the perfect build, but you also need to be able to have a jack of all trades build that uses status for some quick daily play.

I'm hoping that this also leads into an Eidolon rework... an incredibly small group of people are willing to painstakingly set up a deck of exploits to farm so many arcanes for resale that every single arcane except the rarest is worthless.  It was satisfying the first time I was able to find a group and take down 3-4 eidolons in a night, but chances are you don't get any drops you want, you have to wait for an hour and you're screwed if you lose a group member.  It's also the only major part of the game where people don't act like tenno and lose their mind if there's a disconnect, etc...

  4. Usually when the armour is just one piece, it stipulates which piece (left or right) it is...  The ambiguous description and the high price point to a mistake on DE's part releasing the set but only making it mountable on one shoulder.  Also, the left and right are usually sold in the same Baro appearance.

Several weeks later, I'm surprised there isn't more mention of this because I am very eager to use the full set.

  5. I have several achievements that won't unlock, no matter how many times I complete the objective:

     - Kill the boss of venus/saturn/mercury/uranus and extract.... I've done all of these as many as a hundred times.

     - Polarize a weapon... also hundreds of times

     - Survive a night on the plains of eidolon.... yup

     - ..........and many more

Are there any ways/plans to fix this?

  6. Same here, I'm trying to play the new event (and purchased a resource booster to do so), but the new update has broken Orb Vallis for me (and introduced other intermittent crashing on loading screens).

    I have:

     - Re-installed Warframe
     - verified cache
     - optimized cache
     - Lowered settings to medium (even though I'm running Vega64 and Ryzen 1700)
     - Updated to recommended video card drivers
     - Stopped all non-essential background programs

Every time I try to load orb vallis I crash during the loading screen... I've tried for hours now.

    Meh.

Daily rewards have always been unfair in one way or another. That's just how it is, and that's fine.

Players who put a thousand hours in before the previous daily log-in rewards system started weren't retroactively rewarded for it. Even now, it doesn't actually reward player dedication since it isn't based on hours in-game. I have a coworker who has played about 10 hours over the last 6 months, but you best believe he makes sure he or his girlfriend log into his account every day for the log-in reward. It's more of a facebook-game sort of system where it rewards visits but not necessarily participation in any form.

Now, it's still better off than it was in the past since you get to choose rewards you used to have to wait years for. It scales better for higher days logged-in, sure, but the non-milestone rewards are random so you can't really act like you were counting on those particular resources for anything.

You make a very good point, the choices for a lot of the milestones are nice, and I'm less interested in the cosmetics that you get later on.  The evergreen rewards look pretty great though, and they're forever away.  The facebook comparison is spot-on.

wait, it's scaled off of MR?

    INTERESTING

As I had resonded, I've seen this, but personally 53 days @ MR 19 = 5 Hours... very little scaling, but better than nothing.

  8. 4 hours ago, (PS4)Double991 said:

You can't consider MR because If some new player grinds their butt off in Hydron to get to MR25, should these rate of rewards be given to them too?

Getting the mastery would still require grinding for the credits, resources, plat for slots, etc., XP is only a small part of gaining mastery.  How are they getting all the gear to get to 25 if they're grinding Hydron?

Except most players don't actually do that. It would be like me claiming that players with 1,000 logins only login for 30s each day. Sure, it is possible but no one really does it.

Tons of people do that, most of the people I used to play with who haven't completely stopped do this most days.  I've seen many reddit threads commenting just on how people's daily routine is to log in and then play a different game (such as the most popular response in this thread).

Also, lots of people have jobs and other commitments that make it very impractical or impossible to log in every day, but may be able to play all day one day on the weekend.  Those people are more active than people who log in and do nothing else every day.

It seems some commenters don't grasp the finer points of the complaint you're making. But I suppose that's understandable for someone who wasn't around three years ago.

When DE rolled out the revamped tribute system back around the Second Dream update, they decided that everyone should progress along it from the same starting point. Being that the honor system and rewards were new, players who had been playing prior weren't being left-out. Anyone who continued playing past that point would get access. (There was also the fact that later rewards weren't actually in the game yet.)

For someone returning now, I imagine it looks a little different. But you're starting from the same point we all did, oldbies from pre-Steam integration and new players alike. The rewards you got for supporting the game in its infancy are still there for you. It would be difficult to argue that said support merits quicker access to rewards added years after you stopped playing.

However, for the purpose of resource acquisition, I do understand your complaint. It's a valid one. I don't necessarily believe DE should be expected to honor it, however, since the resources you'll be getting are still more than everyone got a few weeks ago.

Very well said...  The upgrade in rewards is good until they build it into the average resource consumption.  I'm not even terribly concerned about it personally.  The majority of my old clan (was close to 100, we're shrunk down to shadow clan now) have all stopped playing, and returning players probably make up a huge market opportunities.  Those people have accounts and are already invested.  Logging in and learning that you're three years away from rewards is a bit defeating, and many just decide not to get back into it at all.

In the old game, the idea was that everything was an even playing field except the excal. prime pack, primed charge or constant plat purchases of boosters.  Any event-exclusive content was re-introduced within 3-6 months of the event (Brakk, the first damage/status mods, etc.).  Now, there's a lot more loot that significantly effects game and grind balance that's not available.  The evergreen awards and >24 hour boosters are a huge grind/plat advantage, and the imbalance creates a very different atmosphere.

  10. 2 minutes ago, vid23 said:

So, you rather want the old rewards back instead of the scaling ones what YOU also get? even if you just get +1 hour for boosters, thats still +1 hour, take it or leave it

That isn't really valid... the entire economy was different then.  Resource requirements are much higher now... many resources have been added since then.  They're most likely building/adjusting the grind over the relative resource accumulation of the player base.  If other people are getting lots of that stuff, they increase the grind more quickly.

Really, the resource and credit boosters are the biggest thing... Primed mods are a credit hog, I wish I hadn't poured so many million of credits into solar rails back when there wasn't anything left for me to spend credits on!

....and there's a hammer that needs 30 000 cryotic?  Holy smokes!  The difference of having 24 hours or more on those means I can still use it tomorrow if I've logged in after working late and need to get to bed.  (Also, if they gave out more resource chance/resource drop boosters then I would spend the plat to get the respective other one).

Taken from another thread some days ago

I'm currently at Day 50-ish and mastery level 19 (Grinding all these new frames and weapons... a lot happens in three years).  I got 4 hours in one of my last rewards.  I think there is some modifier for master, but it has very little effect at the lower number of days.

DE did something for people that logged in back then. People got rewards back then aswell.
You just missed a change of the system. DE didn't force you to leave the game. You wanted to not play for 3 years.
All of this is on you. Nothing about this is DE's fault. So DE has nothing to do.

    3 minutes ago, WhiteMarker said:

Yeah... but these people that started later than you, they supported the game in the last 3 years. You didn't do that.
That's why these people get rewards that you don't get...

By the same logic they didn't support before then either....  the people who should get the most loyalty reward are the ones who were there since march 2013 with no break.  It's not so much a matter of 'fault' as a suggestion that returning players would be a good way to build/maintain the player base for a game that's been going this long.

Just logging in doesn't do much to support the game... It does help to inflate the daily active user stats, but it does little to help the other stats for a games popularity.  Logging in and not playing conditions players to continue logging in and not playing - it's habit forming.

  13. 5 minutes ago, SupremeLeaderKyloRen said:

    1. You can't prove that

    2. You still missed 3 years

    1. I'm sure that DE hasn't thrown away all the data that they could use to check this, given it's value for analytics vs the server footprint.  Or the multitude of other sources of verification of active play at any point in history.  I'm not so concerned whether you believe me on this rather than pointing out that they've created a situation where many people who missed/were not aware of this are treated like they never played at all.  These login rewards are very significant now... getting over ~24 hours resource booster would be fantastic for follow through to the next day.

    2. You're absolutely right!... it wouldn't make sense to make it all the way up as if players in this situation hadn't missed that time but not starting at square one either.  a higher weighting on mastery would make more sense, which would further motivate active players vs logging in and exiting every day.  I was very impressed to see that they added the base mod level mechanic...  Less so with mastery locked items like Rivens... they're a huge power creep/plat lottery but they do add a lot of excitement when they unlock.

  14. I played every day and had reached the maximum mastery level (or pretty near) three years ago when I had to stop playing and the content had dried up.  Coming back, I was already a bit disappointed to see that the daily reward system was introduced shortly after then.  Seeing that I'm three years away from those rewards was a bit frustrating.

However, now the daily scaling makes the difference ridiculous!  I was playing/supporting this game at the beginning, and now people who started much later are getting 10 times the resources and boosters every day?

DE please add more weight for mastery level, or do something to acknowledge people who barely missed a day for the first 2 1/2 years!

  15. You forma'd away all your slots on 20-23 frames? I find that hard to believe but it's possible I guess.

All except one ability slot, and yes... I got 46 forma.  These are the things that happen on the way to mastery 17.

so if they are taking away the top left and top right mod slots, i count 15 forma coming my way. great! just 1 question, what about the 15 times i leveled to 30? lost? and now i gotta repeat all that to get back to where i was?!

Exactly what I'm saying, only freaking 46 times!

  16. I'm a grand master founder who spent about two thousand plat on mod packs and credit packs when I was a newbie. Also bought void keys that I got cheated on because lol bugs.

I'm so sorry that you got compensated for your resources when they removed stuff that you wasted time on. It's a good thing they've never done that to people spending mone---oh right.

I'm not disagreeing with you... at all.

  17. I don't care who rages at me and tells to me to go away.  I really don't.  Losing two of our frame mods slots is absolutely the worst change ever made to this game.  I used one, and only one, ability with every frame.  In most cases, their #4, in the case of Nyx, her #3.  In the case of Valkyr, I used NO abilities.  My build with her was pure survival.  I built her as a perfect melee berserker.  Quick Thinking, Rage, Sure Footed, Fortitude, and all survivability mods.  She was my favorite frame, and that was my favorite playstyle.  I basically never went down.  The price was no abilities, but it allowed for great customization and specific builds and playstyles.  Now every endgame build I have is ruined.  I just have to pick a mod to throw away, plain and simple.  Two in the case of Valkyr.  I spent so long re-polarizing all three extra ability slots on every one of my frames, and all 4 on Valkyr.  I hated the Ogris ammo nerf, but I lived with it. But this?  DE has made some mistakes before and fixed them, so I'll watch the updates and give them a chance.  But if this is permanent, I'm sorry to say this is it for me.  I'll have to say goodbye to Frame forever.  It's a damn shame.  I really loved this game.  Over 1000 hours.  Over half a millions kills.  I guess if I had started playing for the first time today, I wouldn't care.  But I spent too long perfecting those endgame builds.  I just can't stomach this.  I want my builds back.  Please fix it, DE.

I absolutely agree.  I looked in my inventory and saw 46 forma added there.  Then I looked at the update notes and saw that they had arbitrarily removed 2 polarity slots from every frame I have except for Nyx prime, which was the only frame that I hadn't forma'd down to one ability slot.

46 forma's?!?!?!?!  What do I need those for?  Give me back the time I spent grinding out 46 runs of leveling a frame from 0 to 30.  Don't punish me for having played the game early!  The only people who are disagreeing are the ones who haven't played enough to have done that much leveling.

They don't want the dev's to actually reconcile that because it has massively set back the more experienced players, who bought affinity boosters and have put in the time to make builds that were set up for the pre-U15 meta..
