  1. You can trade various items to other players for platinum. It ranges from mods for weapons and gear(rivens in particular) to prime parts. But no plat can be found in game by farming. It doesn't drop. The only way to obtain it is via trading as stated before. That process can be done in either a trading thingamajig in a dojo or if I remember correctly the relay on Earth.

  2. Last time I played Oberon's passive made kavats your buddies. Very useful for scanning them. Granted I haven't played in a loong while and Oberon's passive may be different but if it is still the same it could come in handy. Of course this won't fix RNG but it will help whenever you find the cats.

Although a valid point, I honestly don't think it matters.  Although his name literally translates to color, its a pretty decent reference to chromatic dragons having different colored scales based on what elemental affinity they have.  I think his utilitizing 4 elements would be sufficient to justify the name.

Besides, we have a warframe called banshee that has no actual reference or indication of having anything to do with its namesake, most notably that of shrieking or predicting death.  And no, I do not consider sonar to be a form of screaming, despite bats using it to find things.

A sound based frame being called banshee is tenuous at best, so I think it'd be fine to have a frame named for colors of the elements to have purple fire or green ice.

Having read your post and the argument you present I think I would be fine with the proposed change. Even if it removes a bit of the theme that Chroma has the quality of life change would be worth it.

  4. If I had to take a guess I'd go with Kickbot's trigger words lacking context. I haven't played in a few months but last time Kickbot was kicking for words that were offensive only in very specific context. And it had been like that for a while. I wouldn't worry about it much. It is probably only a 24 hour chat ban.

On a side note it would help if we knew what Kickbot kicked for. As far as I know there is no list of the trigger words.

  5. I must say I agree. The moment I saw that I already made my mind up that I won't even bother with the aklex. The weapon is probably cool and has the best stats for a secondary but grinding to grind isn't my thing. I'd rather grind to get different guns to grind with rather than grinding to grind to get a different gun to grind with. Weren't DE going to reduce the grind? I know that reducing it would make the game pointless since it's a game based around grinding but this is getting ridiculous.

  6. That sounds fun. I'd love to have this come true. I feel that it would also make the universe more engaging actually feeling like you are doing research. Maybe even add miniquests for each of the faction specific research. Like having to extract dna from an infested tumor on some type of mission and it gives you a resource similar to the pigments maybe? That way you couldn't stockpile on the resource while also adding a new type of mission that won't have a % chance to drop what you like but would be guaranteed to get at the end of the mission. The benefit of it not being a % but a guaranteed would be that people are also less frustrated when they know how long they'll have to do something. For Corpus it could be abducting of a scientist and for grineer it could be an extraction of some chemicals and such. The missions could even be divided in multiple parts having to kidnap a researcher and torture them for information on a weapon. Afterwards you'd go and take chemical formulas and blueprints from a research facility that could offer multiple ways to complete like a mobile defence or a spy mission. The more I think of it the more it makes sense for tenno to not be researching the weapons themselves but stealing the plans and resources from the factions.

    Mission : Survival

Reward : Umbra Excalibur at 999,999 minutes

That would be almost two years of survival. Umbra would have come out by then. Or maybe that would be his release date.

  8. I know that I wouldn't want to play a VR ever. Let alone a third person VR. With jumping and spinning and every other thing that can give me motion sickness. I'd rather DE spend their money on things that aren't going to go to waste. But then again if most people who play warframe would enjoy playing it with VR then by all means they should invest in that. Though last time I saw a topic requesting warframe VR people weren't all too excited.

  9. If I had my way I'd order ordis to cut it out. But the only ways to remove it are either to let it grow and make a kubrow (aka pay 10 plat for stasis and craft an item that costs 100k credits) or delete the warframe and re-farm it which would require a new potato. And if it is a vaulted prime then you might as well forget about that. And if you think that it is disgusting now wait until it grows a tentacle. I think that it grows while you don't have the frame equipped though. So you can play with a different one but then if that one too gets infected then you are out of luck I guess. Overall it isn't a great time. And it also shifts your alignment towards shadow. And what benefit do you get from that? You get a skin for a kubrow. Oh wait I think I heard someone telling me that this is an infested charger pet. Regardless. Even after you remove this one you can't safeguard yourself from getting infected again. And we don't have scarves yet to cover it up. Speaking of which, DE, we need scarves.

EDIT: Apparently you are immune to the virus once you've cleared it. Neat.

  10. This greatly displeases me. I honestly would have rather DE not put this in at all. Not only do I have to make a kubrow to get rid of the cyst but the design is literally a copy paste that makes absolutely no sense. So much could have been done with this idea. What if we could infest already existing companions? An infested carrier prime would have been great. Or an infested kubrow. Not just a charger. I can't see the point of this. There are so many ideas that come to mind of what could have been done with the infested room and this is... just meh. But I suppose it could have been worse. It isn't an infested shield osprey, right?

  11. Well maiming strike is useful for pretty much a single weapon. The telos boltace. Any other weapon while benefiting from that mod is annoying to constantly slide. Telos Boltace's gimmick is that slide so it works rather well there. If you aren't using that weapon you should then ask yourself what do you plan on using the plat for. If you've a need then sure. Might as well. Better than having a mod you aren't using sit in your inventory.
