I personally stumbled upon a way to get out there by accident, my clan quickly refined the steps down to an exact procedure, and it's been one of our go to play around spots ever since.
The outside of the observatory doesn't have the same mesh it used to, and, sadly in my clan's experience it is no longer possible to get onto the "guns" due to these changes, but there are other places to hang out.
I am interested in your method though, we should chat.

What rooms are directly above it? Some larger rooms block building some rooms above and or below them.

I remember something like this where you had to roll in the direction you wanted to go, next life support capsule you would hit would put you back to normal, then the next one would stop you again.

Whoever told you they're Transmute only just tricked you into wasting a lot of credits.

You don't have to be a part of a clan for anything but building the solar rails as far as the Dark Sectors are concerned, you can still access them as a single player once someone has placed one, and you'll still be able to support the cheaper option when they're contested.

They meant, having no stance mod equipped will just have the weapon using the default stance(which is what we use now).

I'm not implying that it hasn't been happening to you, only stating what I've seen in my own games.

From my experience, you currently only lose the credit reward if you're dead at the time of extraction.
Used to be, what you're describing is what would happen, but that changed somewhere along the way.

Also don't use the towers till you're down to like 50% to make sure you aren't wasting drops.Just noticed you mentioned that.

There's an upcoming Focus system that'll do somethin special with your over-XP.

Most important Frames, Trinity, Nekros, Nova, Nyx.
Trin for infinite invincibility, Nekros for double the Oxygen, Nova for Splosions, Nyx in case your Trin goes down before casting Bless.
Edit: I consider Nova and Nyx optional.
