  1. Railjack, as is, is a somewhat lackluster and limited experience while at the same time feeling like what warframes base game should be. Aside the host related bugs, it has the potential to really take the game to the next level especially as warframe enters its second decade.

Including invasions in railjack would be more realistic than in the starchart, as well as connect railjack to the starchart in a more evident way. Having friendly fighter craft would add depth to the railjack fights that don’t exist as is. The crossfire style missions would fit equally as well as the allied missions if the invasion reward system is not compatiblE

Regarding the flawed mods, they were going to completely remove them from the game so that new players don't run into the trap of spending endo and credits on them at the beginning of the game when they have less to spend. They gave us back the flawed mods so that vets could use the occasional instance of odd ranks that were more efficient with points and for those of us that like to hoard collect stuff.

New players don't need flawed mods so they're fine not being available until later when players start having a better flow of resources or have nothing else to spend stuff on.

Sure. Because spending 100 endo on a flawed elemental damage mod is worse than A) not having them and B) buying the “essential” damage mod bundles, if the goal is to just have new players struggle with no direction.

The real issue was never the investment, it’s the fact that there wasn’t any info on mods being flawed or the differences between flawed and standard *at all*. But if it was an informed decision, **with a tutorial/ visual and audible description** (which for the record, I qualified in the original post) people could choose to have access to literally >1/3 of the games damage mechanics, or they could say pass.

as it is now, the new player experience is very not good. The mechanics aren’t getting more simple as the years go on. Try running a new account through sayas vigil *knowing how to play* and it’s bad. Just because at some point we all had to figure stuff out doesn’t mean it can’t or shouldn’t be improved.

It’s significantly worse now than it was starting with rainbow builds whos mods all dropped in mercury.

  3. I also disagree on the codex

its a relic that has never performed to the level it can because aside quests and Levarian it is a non-intuitive ui. If it got redone to resemble the aesthetics of the game markets or foundry/mods more, but it’s still just better to stick tutorials in the game with some kind of attention grabbing voice line.

If Varzia did the status/armor tutorial (which fits lore as a Dax) and had the flawed mods which she could verbally describe what flawed is, versus just a dumpster in iron wake

Lastly: I’d encourage you to glance at the flawed cold damage for example when filling small amounts of mod space. It’s not all garbage

    -snip-

Trade lock is mr2 so quite literally galvanized mods are achievable if so desired with platinum before leaving earth. the only elemental mods you receive in vors prize are heated charge and convulsion, (which especially without a tutorial on status, sets players up for worse performance than either individually as they apply to corpus and grineer)

But you’re not considering newer players (mr1-5ish) joining Q&A and asking how to do stuff and seeing level cap builds and buying stuff based on that when they are also referred to market and trade chat.

Being careful to avoid offense here, but Im not gunna lie, it does seem like a large part of the forums is entirely against making the new player experience more understandable and in favor of requiring brute force learning of game mechanics just because that’s how they did it?

at MR 29 I’m having new clan members who struggle through the entry content because mod mechanics aren’t explained in any kind of depth, but that my clan is centered on teaching the game, we see people hit steel path in about a month or two of normal progression. Playing through the new player experience again shows you 1) that help is not given to you in the tutorial which basically teaches only controls 2)other new players *struggle*

It's really a legacy thing. Considering Earth is a beginner planet. It should be lower and tune for beginners as well. Not to mention the loot Vay Hek drops could be adjusted too. Earth didn't have an Assassination Mission before. Vay Hek was introduced a few years back.

I miswrote 🤌🏼 I was trying to get off hek for this post and back to flawed mod location being at Iron wake and is not unlocked until the chains of harrow

  6. Notice here people, that I’m not asking for SP to be MR5

notice I’m not complaining about sorties or side quests

notice the point of this post is flawed mod location exclusively.

Let me get this straight. You thought it would be fun to mastery lock yourself to MR2, but now, you think it isn't fair stuff is locked to you? So you want DE to move mods, change MR requirements, and content around the game for you? It makes no sense to me. What is the point, other than wasting development time for your experiment?

It isn't that hard to progress in this game. People don't need to be doing steel path 48 hours from the start of their new adventure.

Yeah, I am gonna vote no on this (if anyone cares).

You do not read, but you commented the same nonsense twice.

Mastery Rank serves a purpose. Time Gate. Having MR lock means DE wants players to do other activities until the time gate expires. I highly doubt any TIme Gate is going to be removed.

Alright then 🥴 the 10 years worth of experience required to speedrun like this (as it is not a recommended strategy, I don’t think people SHOULD do this as normal) just doesn’t count I guess.

But I’m lost as to why people think MR5 for hek makes any sense.

rephrase: if Teshin, after all nodes were complete, required MR5 to open steel path **that makes sense** but for Vay hek, who you could otherwise ignore and progress through the latest story content, has an out of place lock.

Also, what is so bad with getting to MR5? It doesn't take long. And any of the "new" players that you are showing this "scheme" to, will probably accidentally get to MR5 anyway just playing the game organically.

    Weird.

Do you know what the definition of arbitrary is?

also it’s not possible, I think, to reach steel path in 48 hours. Aside the quests I still had to progress through the star chart as intended, and the full star chart would be required for sp

I’m also not saying SP shouldn’t be MR5 locked. I’m saying Hek should not.

    forum people don’t read?

  9. 45 minutes ago, drnlmza said:

You seem to be working n the assumption that DE considers MR unimportant because they removed the lock on quests, but if you read the announcement where they removed that lock , it's clearly not the case. They have explicitly left significant chunks of content (Sorties, Liches, various non-mainline quests, etc.) locked behind MR.

It's a system they WANT players to engage in, they just don't want it blocking access to some of the newer content in the game. I don't see them removing the requirements for it fr existing content further.

Kinda odd that it’s MR5 if that’s the case. Which is back to it being arbitrary

and hek? You’re telling me it’s absolutely important that Hek remain locked behind MR5 as a minimum requirement for SP access.

im not saying it’s how people should play the game, but it is a possibility, and it’s very odd to otherwise have access to all progression… except hek?

    am I crazy?

Wait... what? You have "beaten" at least big part of game and you are still MR2? Are you by any chance don't want to raise MR for some reasons? MR 5 is just 21 items ranked 30. That's impossible if you somehow has beaten Whisper in the wall.

I wanted to check your profile but it says that there is no user like this.

    rxCePz7.jpeg
The idea being at MR2 you can trade for mods, so $25 worth of plat especially on a discount will go along way. (I specifically went with radiated reload, critical delay and hunter munitions because they are cheap, saved the rest for voidrig) grab Braton lato Skana, max everything at Lith earth, proceed until mr2 with diriga after a taxi to void for 1 argon. And touch nothing else, feed all my endo into the select mods I knew I would use, and carve the most efficient paths through the starchart knocking out all the quests you can.

main quest line was unlocked from mastery rank, so things like Nataruk, skiajati/sun and moon, grimoire have no mastery requirement.

paracesis oddly does, while it is used in the quests you lose it and regain as a blueprint with a MR10 req

Optional: Cetus is the first standing players get, and at rank 3 you get manifold bond for diriga as well as vargeet 2 jai link which is one of the better crit ones, zaws also have no mastery requirement and you can opt to start basically with a nikana prime. I stuck with Skana until whispers though.

They want you to increase Mastery Rank for a variety of reasons. They want players to unlock stuff like standing caps, focus caps, etc. If you don't, your progress will be abysmally slow if you stay at MR2 because you don't use anything but the starter equipment.

And really getting to MR5 is not hard at all. Your average player isn't going to be bumrushing WitW to the point they are using starter frame and starter weapons to get through New War, surely and getting to MR5 is just a few weapons and a bunch of star chart unlocks.

You’re misunderstanding. I have the ability to rank up mastery but and locking to MR 2 as a point to limit weapons and riven mods. I’m doing this as a trial to show people the game is not impossibly hard and that you can essentially walk through it if you take the time to learn mechanics.

mr 5 for hek is arbitrary since mainline quests have had mastery removed.

**no other boss is mastery locked afaik. Have completed most of the starchart and all mainline quests but angels of zariman (building a 123 amp with mr2 standing caps)

just hek. It’s an arbitrary limit

I'm not trying to bag on my favorite game but I've been grinding especially solo for a while and I feel as if the starchart lock for steel path is beyond unnecessary as by the time some of us reach halfway through regular path (SOLO) most of the irl starchart will have exploded can we just play the game instead of being locked out once end story is done and lotus is back that should be it and steel path unlocked but this awful lockout gets annoying either that or make regular path with waaaaay less nodes to complete before sp unlock it would bring in more new players I know I'm not important and just yelling into the void but I'm epileptic risking literally my life every time I play I'm playing ding dong ditch with death just want to have the same "Fun" as I hear from others who are on sp and not having to just give up on my starchart because it is no longer enjoyable as a game

As a counter point, the origin system is, to an extreme, not difficult. Just to make the point I was attempting to get through the quests and SP at MR2, using excal Braton Lato Skana built for crit viral slash with basic mods (and critical delay) and it EASILY clears all the way to The New War where Nataruk scales into Steel Path. I did this in 2 weeks with a purchased voidrig only.

vay hek is locked to mr5 and I think that’s the only thing stopping me. The solo missions really aren’t that bad especially if you build to each faction the missions will be 5 minutes or so each, but it is a matter of doing it

  13. I’ve so far been able to complete through whispers in the walls in the mainline at MR2

as far as I can tell, nataruk grimoire zaw is MR0 META, is definitely handy enough to beat Vay hek.

the mr5 requirement is an arbitrary limitation, NOT specifically because the quest mastery has been removed. I was able to progress up to the new war with Braton lato skana built for slash viral and crit with basic mods. it’s still not an issue to opt for them, but difference in scaling between Braton and nataruk speaks for itself.

im guess I’ll just finish everything else and wait on hek to be lowered or quit my attempt, and just call it MR5 as the minimum. But it could  be MR2 or removed completely to the same effect as mr5 as it’s just an arbitrary limit.

  14. Side issue:

vay hek is arbitrarily locked behind mastery rank 5. I ignored him because he wasn’t required, progresses all the way through whispers in the walls at MR2, but cannot beat vay hek.

    It’s just not necessary

  15. *Foreword:
With the changes to progression since whispers, I’ve decided to take an MR2 to SP.

The new player experience is truly brutal. There are just no mods available save purchasing from the market or what basic enemies drop. With the tutorial as basic as it is for the complexity of the game, it definitely pushes fresh tenno to spend money or flail around or both.

    *Solution:
Move “Flawed” mods from Iron Wake (unlocked in chains of harrow, well passed the usefulness for new players) to Maroos Bazarr, the platform opposite varzia would be perfect, as well as a voice line or inbox message alerting New Players to its existence.

    *Bonus:
Varzia would be ideal for this, as she already handles aya and resurgence.

It would be an amazing boon to New Players to have her include a basic tutorial on status effects and armor types.

    "suggest a auction house"

That’s trade stuff and would reduce presence in dojo rather than increase. Unless it would be exclusively online listings, and you just sat there.

im talking about making the dojo into a relay-orbiter hybrid that is logical and makes clans relevant.

  17. Perhaps something akin to the fibonacci jahu gargoyle, but opens up the orbiter foundry and market segments

    benefits:

    - clan research can be checked more easily. it kinda seems odd that a group of tenno would not have a shared foundry next to their shared weapons research

    - traders can have access to market for purchases or comparisons. It both benefits players and slightly faster or potentially more plat purchases for DE

    - clans feel more tangible when >4 players visibly interact, ie the sense of community that you get when people were at the gargoyle or ascension ceremonies

I'm a veteran and I'd love to use Kaithe all the time, but they're useless for missions at my account level.

I agree, i love my kaithe but it’s just a sub par option.

    1) kaithe speed should increase every riding intrinsic until it is at least twice as fast as it currently is

    2) kaithe should gain melee weapon use, because horse. Just default map melee to trigger, people would rather have that than secondary only

  20. K-Drive is *still rough* and could benefit from a few changes imo

1 - add directional arrow to races (like literally every other racing game ever) (but seriously)

2 - aim glide (really does not need 6 ways to do tricks if you can’t land them or land anywhere you try without maxing ventkids for mods or spending hours to become a pro just to accomplish your second idea; utilize familiar game mechanics adapted to k-drive aesthetics)

3 - increase hover by 1m (weird that you get knocked off a hoverboard by a rock that barely comes off the ground depending on its shape)

  21. On one hand, I see your argument. On the other hand, it’s literally the last stage of the game, and you’re complaining not about the new content but about time locks?

you’re gunna have to start with syndicate cap, tbh. I can’t really understand the “players are locked out” of once a week end game content when there’s the whole rest of the game that deals with time locks. And at that point you’re gunna have to deal with all of the vets who have waited for everything else 🤨 it’s just a DoA concept

No frame ever needed a reactor. Only players that are trying to go for level cap stuff need them. Are they fun to mess with? Sure, but also very few if any players are trying to get a full compliment of shards on all 54 frames.

you want people to take you serious, be serious.

  23. I’m starting to like the drifter camp more and more since the resolved steamdeck control issues have allowed me to play the Kahl missions.

I revamped my Orbiter decor, and… remembered the reason I had grey metal.xfKLIy6.jpg

    tertiary color also controls stencils.

    1) Please, PLEASE change these select areas AND Stencils to Accent or Secondary.

    2) Add the operator and quarters metallics to Tertiary for consistency. Not nearly as much of an issue as the blatant color clashing though.

    Final request:

    3) Add custom fish to drifter camp cave! It seems odd that this was not a feature, it nearly seems intended
