  1. So, I recently built Kullervo who represents my homeland of Finland, and that got my thoughts drifting towards other things Kalevala. This train of thought collided with another about the upcoming grimoire weapon type.

To lay some foundation to the idea, in the Kalevala epic Väinämöinen was a demigod and the first man born at the creation of the world. He was a skilled musician, singer and wizard. In Kalevala singing and music was essentially how you cast spells. (During a singing battle against Joukahainen for instance, Väinämöinen sang him into a swamp.) There's a part in his story where he slays a massive pike and crafts a magical kantele from its jaw bone ('kantele' or 'kannel' is a finnish harp-like instrument). He played it so well that people, animals and even gods came to listen, and even the roughest of men were moved to tears. As a feat Väinämöinen also charmed the people of Pohjola to sleep to steal back a font of infinite wealth called Sampo. The kantele was lost to sea during a battle for the Sampo, but Väinämöinen later made a new one from birch, which is much less interesting.

In a nutshell the idea is this: a grimoire weapon based on the jaw bone kantele of Väinämöinen.

    • Though not a grimoire per se, I think it would fit how the grimoire weapon type has so far been shown to be held and perform attacks with. Though a kantele is a somewhat large instrument, there could be some creative liberties to make it fit a warframe's hand. The casting motion would remain more or less the same, with the warframe's fingers scraping the strings to play a note or two, which would convert into a magical void-attack.
    • A jaw bone harp would just be very interesting as a weapon and bring variety to a weapon type that's essentially going to be a collection of books.
    • It could have a charming or lulling ability as a reference to the myth. (Alt-fire perhaps?)

I haven't had time to think this much further, but I felt like sharing what I'd thought of so far.

  2. Very kind of you, DE.

I was initially hesitant to consider buying RA, as the lack of platinum effectively increased the price-per-accessory when compared to an accessory pack. The alternative method to fix this would've been to give a few extra RA in the platinum's place, or to decrease the pack prices. But this solution is good.

Although I don't want to nitpick, I'd appreciate if there was the option to buy RA exclusively, with either the price, or amount of RA, compensating for the value of the missing plat. My need for plat has reduced as I can these days trade my way to get it as a Legendary 1. (Although I can't predict how much this event will crash the prices in the player market.)

Either way, I hope I can support the event by buying a few RA if my finances allow it.

    Stay chill, [DE]voted players.

In scenarios where you’re taken to the Relay from your Orbiter (Initiating the Help Clem mission from Navigation, etc) you’ll now be taken to the Strata Relay on Earth. With Strata being the first Relay new players encounter it made sense to swap Larunda out for a more accessible Relay.

Technically, Strata Relay is not the first relay players get to enter. To unlock it you need to beat Mars Junction. To unlock Mars Junction, you need to access Mercury first. Larunda Relay is in Mercury, and therefore is the first relay the players can actually go into. If Vesper Relay still existed, it would be the first.

  4. "Captain Volt at your service."

I based this on old timey naval uniforms, which Volt's appearance lends itself well to:

    • Navy blue overcoat,
    • White(-ish) undershirt,
    • Golden buttons,
    • Black shiny boots/gloves

I used more "dirty white" tones to lean more into the inspirational time period, where white color is generally a little greyish. If I wanted to be more source accurate the "pants" would also be white, but I didn't want to put white on white so I went for a neutral grey that doesn't clash with the colors and highlights the other colors. The tones have darkened a bit in these shots, as I used a shady spot. I took full advantage of the emissive lights which look like golden buttons, and the gold strips on the shoulder armor look like rank insignias that modern captains normally wear on their shoulders. They emphasize all the more what I was going for, making it a quite neat package for me.

    Hope you like it.

    • TYPE: In-Game, Camera
    • DESCRIPTION: Started a murex raid in a 4-person squad. Upon boarding the railjack, the camera detached from my warframe and was locked in place at the hatch you enter from. I could still move and interact with things, but the camera stayed in place, pointing towards one end of the railjack. Entering Operator mode warps the camera to the warframe, exiting Operator mode teleports it to the operator. Upon entering a turret the camera was offset so that my frame was in the top left corner. I could also shoot only in one direction in the turret. Bug was not happening to other squad members.

Camera has moved to different spot due to operator mode use:

Looked like this in the side turret:

    Could use emotes:

Mission started from one of these bugged Flotillas with no player/raid data and headless NPCs, where I was the only one present despite being in a squad:

    • REPRODUCTION: Just enter a Murex Raid, I suppose? I did board from an empty bugged Flotilla, where I saw no other players, even my squadmates who were still in the same squad. Maybe that played a factor?
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I should've boarded railjack normally with camera following my frame.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: Camera detached from the player, pointing only to the rear of the railjack. Game functions worked normally (emotes, shooting, exiting the railjack, etc.) while camera remained detached. Camera location could be changed by entering and exiting operator mode, or when exiting the ship, or entering a turret.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: Happened only once, though other instances of entering the railjack has provided one crash and one hyperspace loading loop.
