I thought i can summon the lich in some way but it just ends up in the codex. It doesn't even show up often in mission.

as it currently stands they work like the Mysterious Stranger from fallout so they may pop up randomly to help out sometimes. outside of that (as far as I know) thats it as far as converted liches go

  2. I was thinking how neat it would be to be able to interact with any Lich (Lich's? Lychee's? Litchseses?) that you convert somehow (also is it even possible to have more than one? does it replace your old one when you convert a new one or do you have a pool of Lich? can you make an army of Lich? (another topic perhaps)

What I was thinking of is when Empyrean eventually comes our way. wouldn't it be neat to have your Lich as part of the crew? maybe they can be a combat follower that can help you infiltrate enemy ships etc? or perhaps there's like a "call for backup" button and your Lich comes with their own ship and crew and helps you out?

I just thought that it would be nice to continue to have interactions with your Lich after converting them, some of them have really interesting personalities and I for one would like to keep interacting with some of them.

I know they can do the whole "Mysterious Stranger" thing and pop in and help when "you need it most" but I was just thinking of ways to see and interact with converted Lich's outside of those random encounters.

anyone else has any thoughts on what they'd think would be cool regarding this?

  3. as a "vet" (honestly I hate using the term) I think the melee changes are a wonderful breath of fresh air. I feel there is more depth and interaction with your melee weapons now. (granted some stances still feel shallow, especially ones that only had two different combo's prior to the update... I think some more work needs to go into some of the existing stances to be more interesting like other stances)

granted I'm not one of those players that does 5 hours of endless missions or fight lv 150+ enemies on the regular but I do, do sorties and Kuva lich missions which do have higher level enemies (70+) and to be frank the new melee changes has had me confidently use weapons that I'd never consider for even that level of content with minimal issues.

Yes it was a little bit of a "wth?" when I first played the update myself but on the whole I feel it is all an improvement. yes I'm a little annoyed I need to relearn all my memorized combo lists and some of my "go to" weapons but honestly, I think its good. using the same things over and over makes things stale.

  4. boy that's quite the patch notes

so far I'd say things are really good though my one gripe with the melee changes... you can't throw the wolf sledge anymore ='(

EDIT: nevermind its bound to a whole new key now. may be worth mentioning "heavy melee" as an actual feature and different button press since there doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in the combo lists

  5. personally I've been in two minds about nightwave as a whole:

on the one hand I like how it makes you do specific things because it makes me use weapons/play game modes I don't all that often.

on the other I don't like how I am forced to do things/use things I don't want to do

its a hard balance to try and make.

I've never liked how the battlepasses work, ever since their inception. but thats just me.

  6. I was wondering if there is any thought among DE about obtaining nightwave rewards after the season has passed, particularly the cosmetic rewards from the season.

I for one was unable to reach rank 30 during season 1 due to work and by the time I was actually able to start going through the missions and obtain standing there was no way for me to reach the ranks required to obtain stuff like the Wolf Armor.

I'm curious to know if DE have thought about methods to obtain those cosmetic items again for players who have missed the chance to be able to get them.

can we buy them with plat at some point in the future?

will the seasons repeat at some point?

perhaps someone like Baro might sell the sets for ducats?

since we have only had 2 seasons of nightwave so far the Wolf set is really the only example but I'm sure as time goes on more and more of these cosmetic rewards will become unavailable to obtain once the season passes and many people will miss out on many of them for a verity of reasons.

Only thing I hate about her is that adaptation will be mandatory (like for rev) on her otherwise even with a base of 4.5k sheilds it will be striped in moments by high tier Graneer!

hope this isnt going to be the case but thats my concern too

So actually he's wrong... there are no PvE mods that affect recharge delay.

might be miss quoting here. I was responding to the og poster who said that there are no mods that change recharge delay. and he is right in saying that. there are only mods that change rate, not delay

  9. 2 hours ago, ligonare said:

Ok then. What PvE mod reduces shield recharge delay then?

    I'll wait.

actually he is right... there's Fast Deflection along with Fortitude and Vigilante Vigor but that just increases the recharge RATE... not actually reducing the delay before the recharge.

unless a mod has popped up under the radar...

I am not going to mince words. I worry for Hildyrn. Her design sounds unorthodox and fun on paper but she is going to have a hard time surviving in the game at mid/ high levels if these conditions are not addressed.

    ~snip~

Everything presented here are my exact thoughts and concerns about Hildyrn. which is why back when we didn't know what her powers were going to be that she would (or rather SHOULD) have something to buff at least how HER shields work in comparison to how they usually work for everything else.

She either needs to have somekind of innate shield DR or something to allow her to resist or even temporarily ignore certain damage types. Ligonare mentioned how bad shields are in general. I was talking how inefficient shields are against damage types like poison and slash... even if Hildyrn has the ability to remove status effects she still needs to be able to CAST the abilities in the first place. and if her ability to cast is removed how is she supposed to defend herself? Even if you are on point with using abilities to remove debuffs/effects it still chips away at you regardless...

I'm still excited to Hildyrn but I'm also worried. I think she needs more to her kit or somekind of adjustment to her passive (at least) or additional effects added to her abilities if she is going to be remotely mid to high level content viable

    8 hours ago, (PS4)lagrue said:

It's situational but if I was going for invincibility I would still choose Rhino because there are status effects that go through shields - i.e. toxin and slash - the deadliest statuses enemies can give you.

For regular damage negation, sure Hildryn (maybe) has an upper hand.  But I can imagine her probably having a low health and armor pool underneath all that shield - and that's going to count for something against some factions like Infested.  We're going to see Hildryn's dropping like flies in Infested Sorties, or when taking sustained fire from corrupted with slash.

Outside of 1 to 1 comparisons of power, it does look like Rhino will have mobility as an advantage, as one of Hildryn's abilities essentially holds her in one spot.  That may be another advantage but it's kind of hard to tell considering you're discussing a frame not even out yet.

even more valid points here. and the same concerns that I have as well.

as corny and unimaginative as this sounds as things currently stands she needs somekind of "Iron Shield" to her kit... even if it was her passive where things like Armor counts towards shield DR on attacks or her shields are refined that status effects like poison and slash cannot penetrate her natural shields. (or a combination of that and more or other things whatever it may be)

she looks like she has good CC in her kit... but the question is would she even be able to get into position to be able TO CC is another question all together.

it is all still too early to tell... but concerns are pretty clear.

  11. So. we have now seen what her abilities are. what are peoples thoughts on them?

I think 2 - 4 seem really interesting. she DOES indeed have a way to remove/ignore procs like poison and slash which is great (and bonus to be able to remove them of allies too) I think its a LITTLE bandaid'ie because unless there is somekind of proc immunity for a few seconds after removing them you're likely to just cop the procs again as soon as you loose them but only once we get our hands on them we will see.

my biggest concern at the moment is her first ability.... does it count as an "exalted" weapon of sorts? if not the charge time on that is soooooooooooooooooo slow I don't see it being useful at all (unless it does stupid damage with stupid aoe but even then... there are weapons that can do that without a 3 second charge time so...) until we get our hands on it I'm reserving judgement but at this point of time I don't see that ability getting much use and may end up being one of those abilities that no one ever uses with the frame (like other frames with unused abilities)

  12. I for one am rather excited for this new frame and hearing that she's a "tech" based Frame and and emphasis on using her shields to power her abilities have really gotten me thinking...

what kind of skills can we expect or would like to see?

Concern no1: for anyone that has played the game for a decent length of time. we all know Shields aren't that... well, good... its not a decent form of defense especially on higher difficulties. we all know its Health and Armor stacking (when viable) is crucial to survive. too many things bypass shields for it to be a main focus for defense; poison and slash damage are the main culprits here...

so with this in mind... I was thinking if this frame is all about shields... then she would likely need something to buff her defense to a point where she doesn't just die off when it comes to the more difficult content the game has (unless we are getting a damage rework and shield gating becomes a thing but I seriously doubt that is going to be happening soon. not with the melee rework around the corner)

we don't know what her abilities are right now. and I wanted to list a few that came to mind of what could make her really cool and unique among the warframes:

Since she is tech based. and one that could potentially turn her into a pretty decent tank would either be a passive buff or an active ability (Like Rhino's Iron skin) that buffs her shields to a point where poison and Slash damage doesn't bypass her shields. (this could also be a nice change when it comes to modding her to actually want to build with things like Redirection and Fast Deflection may actually want to be used/recommended instead of our usual go to's)

another thought which was brought up by DKDiamantes, we know she is getting her own themed Archgun... but wouldn't it be pretty awesome if her archgun was an exalted weapon?

now I know Archguns are already pretty powerful and exalted weapons are generally pretty stupid powerful so an exalted Archgun would likely be turning the dial to 11 when it only goes to 10 but I think there are ways to balance it. perhaps it could be based on a limited ammo pool or perhaps it consumes her shields whenever it fires... (or energy even) but that would even be dependent on HOW the weapon actually works.... is it a slow firing cannon like weapon? is it some beam weapon? is it some rapid fire machine gun like thing? or perhaps it could even have alternating fire modes... like cannon AND a MG mode. each with its own differences when it comes to raw damage, rof, crit chance, status etc.

anyway these are just a couple of ideas. since we don't know what she is actually capable of yet. throw in some ideas, brainstorm. what would you like to see this new frame have given with what you have heard and seen so far?

  13. her current 4th is stupidly powerful both solo and in groups. my only issue with it is how long it takes to get a decent AOE going with it prior to casting. it requires you to be stationary basically which is a death sentence no matter how tanky you are.

her 3rd ability I personally just use for energy which is great. though the whole mechanic of "the less heath you have the more damage you do" is a LITTLE silly given how easy it is to get health back, i never find myself wanting or even trying to be on low health for the sake of that extra damage.

personally I like her abilities, I find that I am actually using ALL of them as opposed to most frames where I mostly use 2 or 3 and never really touch one of the skills they have (or in some cases even just one skill *cough*Nyx*cough*)

the only way i seeing her 4th being changed (again) is if the way it works mechanically changes. because right now you can easily take out the more tanky opponents really easily with just about any weapon regardless of enemy level and anything that becomes more user friendly would change how it functions simply because it would be way too powerful the way I see it.

while I may not like how the ability functions in terms of clunkyness and "flow" but its undeniably useful.

I'd like to try a quick thinking build where I spend most of my time on no health spamming 3 to keep giving my energy as I take damage but I haven't gotten round to seeing if it is actually viable or not (probably not in higher levels)

  14. despite having a limited amount of standing you can get per day is a LITTLE annoying. I can understand why it is there, but this is not why I'm making this topic.

unless I am completely blind the only real way to check your daily standing and how much more you can get is via your profile.

why cant we see how much more standing we can get for the day when we are talking to the NPC's in Fortuna? so If I'm talking to the vent kids; be it looking at what I can get with the rep that I currently have to spend or to go to the next tier... have it say somewhere that it can clearly show the player how much standing remains for the day.

going to the profile isn't difficult, but all relevant information regarding "currency" for any NPC especially for Plains/Fortuna in terms of acquisition and remaining acquirable standing should be all there. I shouldn't have to open up a completely different menu to see it.

just think it would be a nice little QoL

  15. I'm all in for improving visual effects but I think the new muzzle flash when the Sarpa fires is blinding to say the least. I've never had issues with bright flashes in games but this one is intense for some reason. if you put attack speed mods on.... holy moley it is crazy

think the intensity needs to be dropped a little on this. anyone else having problems with the flashing?

i suggested an even broader solution to this: we should be able to use both sentinels and pets at the same time. One could argue this is powercreep, but the damage provided by either sentinels or pets is quite neglible, even if combined. This would simply give us more customization and the chance to actually use the mods we have maxed (otherwise you maxed the sentinel/pet mods for nothing), or incentivize to do so.

I would say its likely power creeping at that point. While I wouldn't be against the idea. Personally I don't mind having a choice. (even though a lot of the time I personally feel I don't because one pet type has a number of advantages over another)

You can argue that Warframes that are self sufficient (like say, Inaros, Rhino, Ivara etc) do not really need the added utility of a Sentinel and therefore may be better off using a Pet. and the more squishy frames that aren't as good on the survivability side of things are more inclined to use a Sentinel over a Pet.

Fundamentally what is being looked at here is the core of what Warframe is: its a loot driven game, while you can make comparisons to other games like Borderlands, or Diablo. Warframe design around its loot acquisition is rather different. Getting a new Warframe/weapon is an investment. even when you HAVE all the required pieces there is still quite the wait before you get your hands on it. unlike the other games mentioned where you simply need to do a specific task or it is simply dropped by the endless mobs you take down...

I can recall many times when I was farming for resources with friends (HEMA research anyone?) some of us were sporting Vaccum while others preferred having their pet out (simply over the premises not due to practicality) and the difference in how much we got differed from one another was rather staggering; and we are talking about the more enclosed maps where loot is generally all in the same spot and there is STILL a massive difference in how much loot from one player was acquired from the other.

  17. Alright now, we are straying here. if you two want to continue, I suggest doing it in PM's  (thank you El_chanis and Mattoropael for going back on topic)

We should be discussing about the TOPIC, not anyone specific.

The great thing about Warframe is that it caters to the Hardcore players and the more Casual. People that usually say that things are "too easy" are generally individuals who have already played the game a LOT and have most if not all things unlocked/achieved. (I'm one of them, been playing since it was available to the public)

Vacuum was incredibly convenient when it was first introduced. But it was limited because that it was linked to ONE specific Sentinel. eventually it was given to all Sentinels. But there was always a distinct change between the Pets and Sentinels. yes Pets are more combat orientated. but when it comes to utility Sentinels are unquestionably superior. with Vacuum or not.

Also want to add that ever since Kubrow's were introduced I've tried to get all the species. I've had anywhere between 20 - 40 Kubrows and I've YET to obtain that "retrieving" Chesa species; gotta love dat RNG xD

At the end of the day the purpose of having Vacuum (or at least something similar) given to Warframes instead of whatever "pet" you decide to take with you (if any at all) is to make the overall experience (especially in PoE) to be less tedious on the running for anything specific and more on the exploration, fighting, traveling and farming aspects of the game.

I'm coming from the perspective of having plated a Smeeta Kavat in forma, and having it basically ready to go with all the mods it needs should I choose.

However, when using the Smeeta I was actually at a disadvantage compared to using a sentinel (like Carrier Prime, Helios Prime, or Prisma Shade), because using the Kavat I have to spend time looting rather than focusing on game play and bouncing near the loot and having the Sentinel handle it for me.

It's tedium that I do not like, and I will not run a Kubrow, Kavat, or Helminth Charger because they introduce a pointless tedium into Warframe that (IMO) should never have been there in the first place.

    Well said

  19. Theres two reasons for this thread:

    1. because in PoE having Vacuum is rather important for the sake of not missing any loot dropped because it tends to hide with all the vegetation. so it helps not missing anything that may have dropped.

    2. as it stands right now there is basically no point running a Kubro/Kavat over a Sentinel; Sentinels can Heal, give shields, vacuum loot, over-shield ontop of whatever specific sentinel you picked. pets on the other hand can... do whatever their specific breed does and that's it. not only that Kubro/Catbro's have a far higher "cost" to keep them around than a Sentinel. Sentinel's will always love you, will always be around, will never complain or require anything from you and you can abuse them for years and they will still be the same. cant do that with your furry/scaly friends.

  20. 6 minutes ago, JuicyButthurt said:

An alternative to universal vacuum would be to have all the loot shared like credits so you wouldn't need to take care of your drops and the 3/7 other people in the squad.

A nice suggestion and would be welcomed too! especially if you squad up with people often. the good thing about the universal Vacuum though is that if you are playing Solo, its up to you to pick everything up.
