  1. Update 18 has been largely awesome, however I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder about how all our characters are, at least visually, well kids. In general I have never really been fond of the "super kid" concept some games use and prefer adult characters. So in the same vein I would like it if DE at some point added faces and bodies that look more mature, the voices already in game could pass for young adults.

Hek, they could even tie it to the tenno aging, now that they are out of the pods. Or maybe the tenno themselves modify their actual bodies to match their concept of self (The tenno probably are adults mentally, having lived for a looong time), I mean it would be weird for you to be mentally on the level of a let's say a 30 year old, but have the body of an early teenager. And maybe not all the zariman children were of the same age? Maybe some of them were at their late teens or even over 20?

What do you guys think? I know I could identify better with an adult character being an adult myself.

PS. I think the symbolism of Lotus and her role would still stick, even with our characters being older.

  2. Me and a couple of friends are planning a little get together with the intent of binging on video games, food & beverages. What I would like to know is: Can the P2P system in Warframe connect to the other players smartly via LAN or does it bounce off the Internet regardless? We will have a local switch (or hub) to physically connect our pc's to each other.

I have very little experience with P2P multiplayer solutions in general and none of us (me and my friends) have what you would call a very stable internet, and losing connection at 40+ min in t3 survival due to a short internet hickup would suck big time.

I do know you need an internet connection to the DE servers for inventory updates and whatnot, but the actual nature of the client to host connection is still a bit foggy.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Even if the update would be next week I would not necessarily get hyped, the stuff that is confirmed for the update is not very numerous and the stuff that is a maybe, I choose to ignore. Because game development is a tricksy beast, some if not most of the "maybe" content may be pushed back.

  4. Had this bug happen again, and thought about a temp fix. got ninja'd by StormBeast though, so the above /camerareset thing would be nice.

This bug seems to happen when the camera can't do it's "swooping away" animation. So if it's wedged in a corner etc.

So make sure you have your camera at a normal distance from your character before hacking.

A /camerareset command would be nice, as depending on how badly this bug happens it can be a show stopper.

  5. As I've said elsewhere- I'm positive DE WILL reduce the grind- they've said they have plans for it that will come with U17- which is not ready yet. Have faith and have patience...

I am patient, the problem with me is the people I play with are not. And yes I agree with you that DE will probably find a way to alleviate the grind, but I think they could have already done some minor fixes. Like more evenly distribute the drops in the void and removing some of the "junk" drops from later droptables, mainly C.

But for now progress has been relatively non existent on that area. i think U17 or whenever they "blow up" the void might be good news on that part.

  6. I'm pretty much the only one of my group that even bothers to try grinding primes, I literally have to drag my friends along for a t3 survival/defence run (they hate it at this point), and quite frankly I'm getting a bit fed up as well.

Happy players buy more than frustrated ones.

Desperate players buy more than happy ones.

There is a tier below desperate and that's burnt out/angry, and that is bad for business.

DE should really stick to their words and reduce the grind, in a meaningful way.

  7. I had the same happen, and it was around 60 minutes in t3 survival so things got really dicey for a moment XD

I used radial blind then ran out of energy, but was instantly replenished by a trinity so I reactivated Ex-Blade immediately, ended up just standing there, with no weapons. I was able to use radial javelin however.

  8. Depends on which program you use, rigging can be relatively fun once you get the hang of it. And there are various tools available that can help a lot. Last time I built a custom rig from scratch was a looong time ago, since then I've mainly used Epic Games ART (Animation Rigging Toolset) for Maya. I really recommend ART if you have maya since it's free, however I also recommend you at least make a couple of rigs manually.

Also if you use 3ds Max, Youtube has a string of tutorials on "Autodesk 3ds max learning channel", that's where I learned how to rig for the first time. And if you use blender or any other software these should still help since they tell you about all sorts of rigging related stuff.

I like planning stuff and rigging involves some of that, when building a custom rig you have to take into account what sort of animations you are going to be building with it, you can go pretty darn elaborate by just gathering a list of animations and their requirements for pivot points, guides and helpers. It's also not so fun as to compel me to build a custom rig for everything, and for humanoids I just import them to Maya and use ART, as it builds an awesome customizable rig rather fast.

  9. I think peacemaker should be reworked, using the ability feels a bit lackluster right now (in terms of how cool it is). Maybe they should make it so you can move and aim while channeling peacemaker with some extra quirks added so its not just another gun.

Something like: You can shoot constantly while channeling peacemaker with Mesa doing fancy acrobatics instead of the usual rolling, vaulting and other stuff that interrupts shooting/other actions (this would allow the player to fire their peacemakers while doing dodge rolls, vaulting etc). This would in my opinion facilitate "cooler" gameplay with Mesa doing cool acrobatics while going full on gunzerk, and it would allow the player to do more creative things with it than just "deploy stabilizers and go full on turret".

I'm not a great ideas guy, but I think that abilities like peacemaker, bladestorm etc. would be a lot cooler with player input, so that more skill and creativity would equal more carnage and cooler stuff happening on screen.

  10. I believe adding more progression coupled with new pretty much endgame only areas (not just raid type zergfests) would/could improve the ever chased after "endgame content".

More progression could be the elusive Focus system, or just something that makes my character more powerful. Leveling up is fun, however it would have to be done in a different way than just increasing warframe/equipment levels because forma'ing would become even more tedious, and people could plow through that kind of progression easily.

Some kind of small "endless progression" could be good where doing a crapton of something would always net you with a TINY statboost or similar. Also I don't take issue with power creep as long as the stuff has tiers (like MR requirements if they actually meant anything in terms of weapon power/utility).

The new areas could just be higher level missions but with exclusive tilesets (lower level people could get sneak peeks from alerts etc.) or even special mission types, raids are a decent example of this but you can not really solo them as far as i know. Also unique "high tier" loot would be nice, just no farmfests like the towers.

Also unlocking more "privileges" in lore terms would be cool, for example the Lotus bestows you the honor of *insert epic title* and you get X and some special stuff happens, like you can have audiences with the Lotus npc and get special objectives from her etc. This would give you a feeling of progression in the actual gameworld, for those people who care about such things.

  11. That sounds totally awesome, the prizes for defeating the stalker could be some really rare event mods or other rare things. This could even be introduced with the (rumoured) Stalker revamp, as it's own little event!

This was such a great idea that it forced me out of my usual lurking...

  12. Question 1

Could we have voicepacks for male & female genders, this could add customisation while not introducing a "canon" voice for individual warframes as they would draw from a shared pool of voicepacks, divided only by gender. Also introducing a volume slider for "tenno sounds" would probably be a good idea, for people who dont like having the voicepacks and also for people who just want to take a break from em.

Also with waframes there could be a wonderfull array of different types of voices, ranging from robotic to normalish all the way to stalkerlike psionic whispers and stuff.

These could be for sale in the market for plat, and the voices could include stuff like pain grunts and combat barks and also depending on the voice pack some emotes could trigger a line.

    Question 2

Can we take on raid missions with a smaller party/solo?

    Question 3

Can we get larger armor pieces with more coverage? The current chest pieces don't really convey "armor" too much.

    Question 4

When will some of the older weapons get a balance pass, most feel underwhelming (snipers especially).

    Question 5

When/if ever will charge attacks make a comeback? Jat kittag is still crying in the corner.

  13. Personally I would be ok with optional "gender based" voice packs, Male low, medium, high and then also have personalities for these packs etc. These would be aplicable to all frames of the select gender. By not assigning a certain voice to a single warframe, they would not step on too many toes (by shattering somebody's perception of his/her warframe by introducing a "canon" voice for a frame), and people who want to can add a voice of their liking for their frame. The voices could be stuff like grunts when wounded reload barks and emote driven stuff.

Players who dont like voices on warframes could just not buy/use the packs, and they could even introduce a slider in the audio menu to silence all Tenno voices if players dont like the idea of tenno speaking and/or want to take a break from hearing em (like I do with ordis...)

If it's against the lore, and I don't even remotely claim I parse much of anything regarding the lore right now. They could even make the voice packs some kind of speech aid device in form of a medallion or small speaker somewhere.

  14. I believe that most of this "community outrage" was created from simply the devs not actually stating that they had to delay the update. Many (I imagine) thought that the extra 7 day timer was planned all along.

With hindsight just saying: "We have some issues with GU13, gonna have to delay update for approx. 7 days" would have gotten a far better responce than a timer...
