  1. So, I'm rather upset right now.

It's literally been months and months since I've seen stalker, literally hundreds of missions. I've wanted to see him badly to get war.

I've been marked the entire time, of course.

And when does he finally show?

When I do a solo with nekros, with unmodified health and shields, to test a new shadows build. That's when he comes, and he one-shots me with exalted blade from a distance. Shadows is all that build is good at, and they're obviously useless against him.

I've literally paused the game to come here and vent.

Still, I took off half his health with vaykor marelok before he got me, but the fight was over so fast.

I remember the first time I killed him, did a slide attack critical with kronen as loki and destroyed him instantly.

Ah well, at least he makes it exciting. I hope he visits again soon, when I'm using a stronger frame.

    But he won't. He's a sneaky jerk.

Anyone have any good stalker stories?

  2. Just wanted to voice my frustration at continually having to listen to characters repeating dialogue every time I log in, and every time I complete a mission.

This was very frustrating during "The New Strange", which required multiple parts to be farmed and built, ensuring that I must listen again and again to the exact same dialogue.

It was compounded in this case by the number of missions it takes to gather the required judgement points to fight Kela and have a 1/3 chance of getting the required part.

Between this and the fact that I still wanted to do missions outside the quest meant that I had to listen so, so many times and it really got on my nerves and detracted from the experience of the quest greatly.

I actually enjoy the interactions between the characters in this game, and the voice acting is solid too, so I don't want to go into settings and turn the volume down or off. The videos of the characters would remain annoying anyway.

Perhaps this could be rectified by being able to disable quests, allowing us to complete them later.

Thanks guys, and keep up the excellent work :)

  3. Hey hey!

Trying to complete the new strange and every time I return to my spaceship Simaris is buttering up Ordis and annoying The Lotus, and their long conversation is driving me crazy as it's identical every time and I feel like pulling my hair out.

So to progress in the quest I need to make Chroma Systems (annoying because they keep harassing me even though it takes time)

To make Chroma systems I need to make Saryn systems.

And I can't do that because I can't fight Kela de Thaym because I need 100 judgement points?

I know it's related to the last event, which I had no interest in as the rewards did not interest me.

So how do I get the judgement points? So I can build saryn systems? To build Chroma systems?

And all the while I have to listen to the same dialogue over and over...

tl;dr, how do I get judgement points?

  4. I love Nekros, he's my go-to defense or MD frame, particularly if I'm soloing.

Aim to max his power duration and power, and the shadows stick around for a LONG time, and do significant damage. They won't kill as many as you, but they'll take a lot of damage in the meantime and keep the enemy very busy. Remember also it can be handy to target specific enemies for resurrection. If I'm heading for a big fight/defense, I kill heavies and special units only on the way there, so when I arrive I can summon a pretty damn powerful army imo.

I don't use natural talent. It's nice but I enjoy watching the slow animation. I use a stealth kubrow so he keeps me safe in the meantime, or I just use cover or kill the immediate threats. No problem there.

I rarely use terrify or soul punch. Sometimes I desecrate a group of corpses to get a bit of health, but that is not very efficient. I prefer to switch to the vaykor marelok and let it eventually give me my health back.

It's not perfect, but I very rarely fail a mission with nekros.

I'm going to keep using him happily. Terrify could be better. I don't really use any frames 1st power anyway, I just shoot stuff.

  5. Well that was lame.

vor spawned and instantly died somewhere, might have been rekt by my shadows but couldn't find any mods and that seems unlikely anyway.

After wave 10 nothing happened. It's like there was an enemy somewhere I couldn't find.

Ah well. Proof of concept. Shadow's scale with the enemies' level and are always a bit better than them. Plus it's great to have shield drones, healing ancients and nullifiers on your squad anyway :D

Imma let the thread be now. Thanks for the replies all!

  6. Nothing big. His second ability would be better as a ranged circle rather than just a tile square that doesn't last long.

I'd say make it last forever but give it a threshold on damage.so It disappears after it reaches that cap, we can increase the cap with power strength.

Aw yeah, I will grant that I find hallowed ground to be pretty useless. But I sacrificed duration for efficiency so I thought that was why.

I never use smite either. If I want that thing over there in particular dead I will shoot it, haha.

  7. I'm honestly surprised to see oberon on here! He's my most multi-purpose frame.

He has decent health, armor and shields. I can cast reckoning with increased strength and range for only 25 energy. Doing so when I'm in trouble buys me several seconds of freedom to kill knocked-down and irradiated enemies. Works a charm. On most missions it just kills them all. Plus health orbs!

Being able to heal himself and his teammates is an added bonus.

Seriously. I so rarely get taken out when I play as that dude.

What fixes would you guys recommend? I don't want to lose the frame I love (or for everyone to start using him :P)

  8. I don't consider myself a good player, but when I started farming for Loki P by doing T4 Surv, I asked for strong players in the recruiting tab as I was inexperienced at survival at that level.

We barely made 20 minutes. I was disarming like crazy but spent heaps of my time reviving my teammates, went down several times myself. I still managed to do more damage than anyone else.

So I thought, why not try to solo it with my invisibility build?

I went for 40 minutes without too much difficulty! Had to revive a couple of times when I failed to watch my invisibility timer, and got instantly rekt, haha. I left when my tonbo was no longer reliably one-shotting heavies.

And that got me thinking. Are there any missions that cannot be soloed? I've never failed a solo defense mission with my shadows-build nekros (massively underrated power, his ult, imo), but I've never tried it in the void.

A couple of days ago I was playing T4 Int in a squad, using my all-purpose oberon build (strong reckoning, average renewal, high health, armor, shields), when at the beginning of wave seven they all disconnected. I managed to solo it, with difficulty, by holding three of the towers. Didn't even go down (he's a great frame too, imo).

What missions do you consider hard to solo? Are any limited to strong squads? I'd imagine some of the nightmare missions would be suicide to solo.

I thought Vor would be a problem for my loki, but I just went invisible so he just stood there. I shot at him a couple of times with the rakta cernos but he jumped around, so I ended up just meleeing him, which actually worked, to my surprise.

What are your soloing challenges? And please tell me of your soloing experiences. I love to solo stealth runs, especially spy.

  9. Hi all!

I'm just looking to trade fairly and not rip people off, and not be ripped off in return.

The wftrading.net website seems pretty good, but I see many people saying it's out of date.

For example, I wanted to buy primed Reach, the guide suggested 35 plat as a medium amount. The fellow selling it asked for 500.

I don't know which price is unrealistic as I'm not used to trading, but that is a MASSIVE disparity and I was wondering what the rest of you guys do to ensure your trades are fair?

    Thanks all!

  10. Most people on here are really nice in my opinion. It's one of the best and most helpful gaming communities in my opinion.

I for one love helping noobs. And if I like their attitude, I invite them to my clan, which is filled with cool people. I'm surprised how much I like our leader actually, he's extremely good at the game but always offers to help newbies.

  11. It's a good gun, but more useful in some situations than in others.

I take it on sabotage missions and drop projectiles at the exit of the void portal. Blast procs reliably knock them down as they come through and I get most of the kills :D

It was also invaluable in the manic alert. It's great against manics. I've easily defeated them by just standing in a field of torid gas, and they are owned by corrosive and blast procs every time they come for me. It was great!

So no, it's not broken. It does take a few forma to be powerful though. But it is a great weapon in the right situation.

  12. I still consider myself a bit of a noob and haven't done much research, but I use the tonbo and can solo T4 survival to 40 minutes. I like something with reach to kill whole mobs very quickly. If there's an armored enemy I shoot it in the face with vaykor marelok or a good bow.

Orthos prime is great for this as well, but it's too ugly for me :P

  13. I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't get my specific stats for it, but I think the Tonbo is definitely wort a potatoe, even some formas.

I think mine does corrosive and blast damage, and it's really effective for mowing down a whole mob at once.

I compare it favorably against orthos prime even, having similar uses, but I find it more than bearable to look at, whereas I find the orthos P to be particularly ugly. Just my taste.

I put spoiled strike on it, as one slash is usually enough to one-hit-kill most enemies I come across. I use vaykor marelok or a hard-hitting primary for big guys.

I hope this information helps a bit. I'm not a pro by any stretch, and my methods could be a bit dated. I usually hold my own though :)

  14. For some reason, aesthetics in this game matter greatly to me, even more so than in other games.

I cannot continue to use a weapon or frame if I think they are ugly. If my squad wants me to use Nova I cringe. It's a shame as she's pretty powerful.

My Oberon is dressed up like a demon and people regularly say he looks awesome. I never skip intro cut scenes as he looks so badass to me. That dude has the best helmets. I'd use Loki more, but he just can't match how great Oberon looks.

So I think it's a great shame, in a game that allows such extensive visual customization (and, in general, great looking art), to have a lot of the indisputably best weapons and frames locked into a bright gold color scheme.

Orthos was my best weapon for ages, man I loved how it looked. I was so excited for Orthos Prime as it read like it was an amazing weapon (and it is), but when I got it I was upset it had those glaringly bright gold edges that could not be altered. Twas my first prime. I'm literally not interested in getting any more of them as I know I will never use them. How anyone could think orthos prime looks anywhere near as good as the original is beyond me. It looks like a weird piece of abstract art.

Paris prime is so ugly IMO I traded all its parts to a noob for two common mods, haha (turned out he couldn't use it til he ranked up anyway, lel.)

tl;dr Why don't they keep the gold as a prime exclusive color, while allowing people to change the tint of it if they want to? Everyone's happy! They could even retain the metallic hue, but in your choice of tint!

Obviously, this is just my personal preference.

  15. Love my kubrow. Have barely touched my sentinel in months,

But I hate it when I'm trying to snipe and he keeps standing in front of me.

It's worse with projectile weapons rather than hit-scan.

I was trying to use dread to destroy a line of void dudes and he poked his head in my screen. The arrow disappeared into the shot-absorbing face of his as it asked, "Hey, what's goin on?"

I moved a little and he moved as well, "Can I have some bacon?"

The third time he blocked me I began to rage, but then he asked, "Hey bro, what ever did happen to my parents?"

Then someone had a somagasm all over the bad guys and I didn't get any kills and I felt bad for massacring so many hundreds of innocent kubrow just to get his egg. Twas a sad day. No bacon either.

tl;dr, please stop kubrow from standing in front of me when I'm trying to shoot.

I like that they stay up close where you can see them; real dogs do that too - ranging ahead and what not, but perhaps when you are either

    1. Looking down your scope

    2. Still in that ready-stance after you fire a shot

    They could stay behind you.

Shots could also pass through them.

Though not torids or castanas. I love plastering him with torid babies then let him charge around for me killing everything.

  16. Kronen are right now my second-favorite melee.

I found myself missing the enemies too often when using them.

The spin attack only seemed to hit the enemy if I zoomed past their left or right side (can't remember which).

I'm not sure it needs a serious increase to range as they already deal massive damage with that attack.

Talker appeared nearby in a fight once and I utterly destroyed the considerable amount of health he had left with a well-placed spin-slash. It does massive damage. But it it could hit both sides that would be nice.

Also it is hard to hit enemies you're chasing with this weapon. Whether you're just swinging at them or trying to slide through their knees there seems to be an invisible barrier that stops you hitting them.

Also vertical hitboxes, such as when you're fighting guys on stairs.

Gotta be careful with it though; it's not a weak weapon, just a little frustrating and inconsistent to use at times.

  17. Cernos.

Was one of my first purchases. Used it almost exclusively til I luckily got dread around rank 6.

I still miss how it looks. Probably my favorite weapon aesthetically.

Edit: I just went to slap it on my new oberon - my favorite-looking frame - and I realized I sold it at some point to make inventory room for some soulless and ugly gun I'll never use.
