  1. Zan nudged Raiden with his foot, watching the body rock back and forth slightly before stopping and turning to Vesydus, who was inspecting the stitches.

"Do not pick, Doc does good work. Yes, very good, yes..."

Zan left the room, hearing a huff from Vesydus as he did so. He began to run, tracking down Kasch and soon finding her stood over a writing Komodo.

"That'll teach you not to steal, Ja?" Komodo shuddered. "Wunderbar. What can I help you with Zantruze?"

"You will like... this, because violence..."

Before Zan could continue, Kasch held up a hand, silencing him and leaning forward, poking the gold embedded in his armour.

    "Helmet. Off."

Flinching, Zan took it off, the dangerous gleam in Kasch's eyes never fading as she quickly- too fast to follow but utterly, terrifyingly precise- took a piece of flesh from Zan's face, shards of golden material embedded in it. Zan immediately cupped a hand to his face, howling as glittering blood ran down his face before the cut rapidly closed, leaving a scar."

    "Such a baby."

Zan whimpered, before trying to explain himself again.

"There... there is a big thing, I want it killed, but the others, they don't. They want child to be safe. But nothing is safe if this thing is left- I hear it.... laughing..."

  2. I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE ABYSS OF REAL LIFE. AND INTERNET ISSUES.

Inside the Void, Zan stirred, going from lying down unconscious to sitting bolt upright when he heard the unstable Void Portal. Scrambling to his feet, falling over, and repeating that process, he settled for a fast crawl to the source of the sound. He could hear a very familiar voice, and deranged laughter. He began to laugh himself, growing in pitch and volume as the Void's energy continued to heal him, and he was soon on his feet running at full speed into the portal, absorbing the what would be dangerous energy as the rift collapsed. He ran forward, scanning the faces of each of the figures in the room and zeroing in on Kasch, standing very close to her, still laughing as she stopped and stared at him, bemused.

    "What?"

    "Doc?"

  3. Is Lenoirre Eamorr, or what? Clarification needed.

"To me!" Zan yelled, and when no-one moved, he screeched. "TO ME!"

He held his hands at chest height, energy flickering between the two. Tendrils of light protruded from it, quickly being contained by Zan. He was visibly struggling. Vesydus crawled towards Zan, placing a hand on his foot to steady herself before hauling Kasch into the glowing ring forming around the afflicted Warframe. Trail pulls Lenoirre into the circle and placed a hand on his shoulder. The ship lurched as an object struck it, yet the ground beneath the group did not move- instead, it was displaced, a section of the wall now missing, circuitry and conduits visible behind it. The glow of Zan's hands became blinding, and the sphere exploded, white light overcoming the group momentarily.

As their vision returned, they first saw the grey walls of the corridor they were in scattered around them. They then noticed the shining walls and polished trims of the Void, now marred by scorch marks all radiating from their sphere of influence. Zan collapsed to his knees.

"Escaped... for now..." He mumbled before passing out completely.

  4. Zan stood over a few corpses, breathing heavily inside the now-defunct escape craft. He sighs deeply, before his sense of urgency returned and he ran into the pod, finding the girl strapped to a transport table, thoroughly restrained. She looked at him, shock and grief apparent in her voice.

"Why have you come here?! The entire Corpus fleet is willing to secure my capture. You will be destroyed! Stop!"

Ignoring her cries, Zan picked her up and seared through the locks restraining her, the various straps falling away. He placed his Lex Prime in her left hand and took her right, running out of the ship as the remaining fuel cells ruptured, the vessel exploding violently. Following his map markers, he tightened his grip on Vesydus and ran straight into the wall, golden energies displacing the space around them. He covered Vesydus' eyes for good measure as they traveled through, soon emerging in the armoury, Vesydus immediately screaming out in fear upon seeing the Apex. She tried to pull out of Zan's grip.

"No! Run! You cannot fight it!"

  5. Ugh, American airport security. Air travel in general. Time lag. Such fun.

"WHERE?" A deranged voice split the air, punctuated by a crackle of energy. Kasch took a step back, placing a hand on Vesydus' covered form. She flinched at his touch. A second explosion, followed by synthetic screaming overwhelmed the sensors in his equipment, his displays going blank.

"WHERE IS SHE? DONDE ESTA ELLA? WO IST SIE?" The bellowing continued in several other languages, ranging from common Grineer dialect to old-Earth Arabic and French. Kasch swore they heard the formless hiss of Corrupted speech before they snapped out of their surprise and made a break for the Jeuna. They pushed the table on board, the doors closing as automated ground crew rose out of the floor, waving them out of the hangar and towards open space. Kasch caught a flash of gold, the ground crew disintegrating as they reached the atmospheric shell. As the nose of the craft breached the shell, the ship stopped, the engines screaming against an unknown force. Once again, a harrowed voice echoed in all directions, the light seeming to shift with the voice.

    "WHERE IS VESYDUS?"

  6. Zan's eyes snapped open, gold light pouring from them. When he spoke, all waver of insanity was temporarily suspended- he spoke clearly, and with urgency.

"She isn't here. She's drifting away from us.... she will be captured.... Archwing!"

A pulse of energy radiated from his body, coalescing outside the scimitar- an Itzal appeared from the Void. Zan vanished, reappearing in the harness and angling himself towards Vesydus, his systems just getting a purchase on her vitals despite her masking. He accelerated, blinking towards her and grabbing her, activating Penumbra and arresting their momentum. The girl struggled in his grip.

    "Unhand me, you senseless machine!"

"You cannot leave. They will catch you."

    "They can't see me."

"I have seen it. You end up dead if you go any further."

Vesydus stopped struggling, only just registering Zan's lowered, wise voice.

    "You... you're sane"

"For now. It returns, beckoning.... Go no further if you want to live."

  7. Toxin was immediately tackled and pinned by Zan, who was practically frothing with senseless fury.

"Why did you attack?" He punctuated his sentence with a fist wreathed in energy, pulling back again before a well-aimed Smite knocked him off- the corrupted Loki sprung to his feet and charged.

    "You hurt my friend!"

Trail began to diffuse the situation.

"Zan, she'said fine, just a little oxygen starved."

"She has a collapsed lung! His fault!" He jabbed a finger at Toxin, who was struggling to his feet, wincing at the lightning eating his armour.

    "It was an accident?"

    "Lies!"

  8. A blast of energy tore through the drone the Tech threw up, destroying it instantly. Zan dropped from the ceiling.

"Ha! I can do interrogation. I can be persuasive!"

Lightning arced between his fingers, and he approached the Tech while Trail took aim. One swift kick removed the Tech's helmet, allowing Zan to see the fear on his face.

"Come on... someone who isn't Corpus?"

A stream of angry Corpus dialect assaulted Zan's ears, and he shrugged, searing a hole in the Tech's leg, He screamed.

"I can do this all day... It's gonna be fun!"

  9. Hooray for darker and edgier.

Zan trembled, then awoke in a room that was not his own. His armour split apart into their constituent plates and dropped to the ground, leaving him in a simple suit. Most of his flesh had a metallic tint to it, flecks of gold easily visible in the pale skin. he shook again, dropping to the ground as the Void Radiation in his body flared momentarily before he confined it. He lifted his head and inspected the drained pieces of armour.

    "No... power?"

He attempted to summon his lightning, but screamed weakly when a splitting pain filled his skull, forcing him to stop.

    "No... energy..."

He forced himself to his feet, leaning against the wall heavily, making his way up towards the cockpit. As he made his way past the foundry, he noticed that it was building an arm. He frowned, putting it out of his head for the time being. EAmorr turned to him as he approached.

"You look worse for wear. Can I get you anything, since my Liset is now a sick bay?"

    "Void... key."

"No. We're not going to the Void."

"We're not! I just... need key..."

Arching a brow, EAmorr took one of the golden artefacts from storage, weighed it in her hand before willingly ceding it to Zan's grasping hands. What he did next caught her off-guard- he lifted it up in both hands, like it may slip away if he let go, positioning it above his head. She watched te key shake, crumbling into metallice dust and falling onto Zan, who shook as it passed into him, the glow from his x-shaped scar relighting. He stood up and laughed derangedly, causing EAmorr to roll her eyes in annoyance.

    "That explains everything."

  10. Zan whimpered quietly, rubbing his hands together, Void Lightning arcing between them. He approached Vesydus and kneeled, leaning backward and opening his armour. Golden light spilled from it, and the lightning from his hands passing through the stricken child. The effect was instantaneous; she gasped, bolting upright and breathing deeply. Zan groaned, the damage reflecting on to him.

    "Done..." He whispered, and collapsed.

  11. Sorry for the slow reply on my behalf, been away all weekend.

"Hee! Hee hee hee! Explosions? Really?"

His unhinged smile faded when he heard the unmistakable sound of a body hitting the floor, and a sideways glance confirmed his suspicions. Remaining reason left him as he processed Vesydus' limp form.

"Innocent... death?" He turned to the Corpus, all glee vanishing from his eyes. They shifted unconfortably underh is golden gaze.

"Nonsense. She merely blacked out. Those wounds are-"

"Wounds? On an innocent? I know not of the Void to forgive."

Energy began pooling around his fingers, and he fashioned a dart. The Corpus smirked, and vanished. A quick pulse from Zan's armour revealled them, paralysed by gleaming lightning.

    "E-emergency teleport! Now!"

Zan fired as the Corpus phased, the dart disappearing along with the suited figure. He scowled before turning to Vesydus.

    "I.. Oh! I can try..."

  12. "Oh! I have a faster way! Liset no good, only takes 2 at a time."

    EAmorr glanced at Zan nervously.

"Will it get us out of here?"

She ducked as a blast of energy drove away one of the Liset. Zan nodded eagerly.

    "Is it safe?"

Zan tilted his head and cowered as a blast came close to his head.

"I'll take that as a no. Get into the Lisets! We'll hold them off!"

Zan leapt forward, spun, loosing a pulse of energy- Radial disarm, but it was tinted gold.

  13. Ignore the events of the Second Dream. Since we had this thread going long before then, continue as we were.

Zan contemplated the cupboard he was in, before he twitched slightly, pitching forward and phasing straight through the door and landing face-first on the floor. He stood up, giggling to himself before moving through the ship. He silently paced the corridors, picking locks and peering into rooms until he found the sleeping form of Vesydus.

"Who... Where... have I known you before?"

Someone needs to drive the plot, since this is no longer an arc I had a hand in starting.

  14. Zan sat against the wall, humming a tune to himself as he rocked back and forth, clearly quite unstable. Every now and then, he raised his hands, watching gold and blue energy flow between them. He knew the Oberon was watching, his hammer within his grasp at all times. Zan allowed more energy to flow from his fingers, twisting it around in mid-air and passing it through the floor of the ship, the metal bleaching at its touch. Soon, he grew bored, leaning his head back and closing his eyes, but not falling asleep. Instead, he listened, waiting for the point at which Aaron fell asleep. When he did so, Zan leaned forward, seeing that the hammer had slid from the sleeping Tenno's grasp. Zan argued with the solitary shred of sanity that still remained in his mind, and it lost spectacularly. Creeping forward, he put his hands on the hammer, watching as the metal became bright white under his fingers. He grinned and backed away, straight into EAmorr's legs. He looked up sheepishly.

"This... isn't what it looks like?" He said, punctuated with a giggle. EAmorr rolled her eyes, picked him up and threw him in a store cupboard.

"Stay in there until I say, okay?"

  15. "D'sliss... D'slisssssss..." Slurred Zan, rolling the name around as if he were tasting it. "Where... where have I heard it before? D'sliss..."

"Okay, will someone please knock him out?" Aaron asked, waving dismissively at Zan. Zenox cracked his knuckles.

    "Gladly."

The Rhino approached the sitting Zan, rearing back and bearing down with a crushing punch, shattering the Decoy.

    "What?"

"So ruuuuuude." Zan landed on Zenox's shoulders, dancing and twirling as the heavier frame tried to throw him off. Zan flipped off, landing and ducking another punch. "What did I do?" He shot a glance at EAmorr, rife with confusion. Rolling her eyes, she raises a hand, a Wormhole opening under Zenox, catching him in a loop.

    "Oh, come on!"

    Zan turned back to Vesydus.

"Where have I heard of you before...."

  16. "Oh, oh... But it is a... Neut....neutralisation reaction! I can get rid of it for you... Delicious Nitain... Shining so far in the Void..."

"Aaaaand that's enough from you, Zan. Let us talk." EAmorr said, pushing the sickened Tenno away before turning to Vesydus. "Now what are we going to do with you?"

    "Delicious Nitain..."

"Alright, will you stop talking?!" EAmorr whirled on Zan, who blinked a few times before leaning against the wall, sliding into a sitting position, staring right back at her the whole time.

  17. Excellent. Commence the madness.

"Hah, well, I'm sure there's a free room in my... do... dojo." Zan took out a key, tossing it between his hands. It was silver, but it was inlaid with gold, and glowed ominously. EAmorr's eye's widened.

"No. No, you are not suitable to look after a child. Especially a non-Tenno in the Void."

    "Oh, suit your...yourself. Ha."

He twisted off his helmet. EAmorr realised that his orange eyes had become slightly gold, and the cross-shaped scar that had previously claimed his eyes glowed faintly. His hair was pure white where it had previously been auburn

    "You... have a problem."

"I do, I do! I need your help. All of you. Ha! You see... I... I found another thing!" Zan lurched forward, leaning heavily on EAmorr. "Remember the Kraken?" He slurred. "Or the Leviathan?"

    "Yes..?"

"I found another! In the Vooooiiiid. It was huge... and outside..."

"You flew around the Void in an Archwing?!"

    "Yeah... I... I guess I did."

"That explains it. No, we're not helping you now. We have more pressing matters."

    "But it will be fun..."

  18. I CAN'T LEAVE. NOT NOW. I'M TOO FAR IN. Disregard my previous post.

The sound of slow applause bounced around the walls. The collected Tenno immediately snapped their view to the source of the noise, watching as a Loki Prime, glimmering in the light, slipped into the visible spectrum. He stopped clapping.

"Well then. Fancy my luck. Ha."

The Prime approached the Oberon, fixing him with a gaze that made the paladin uncomfortable. Next, he moved to the Rhino, looking him up and down, tapping his armour absently and dodging the punch aimed at his head.

    "Rude."

    He then looked at Vesydus.

    "Civilian."

    "Tenno."

He finally looked at the Nova, leaning disturbingly close.

    "You are... familiar."

He stepped away, skipping backwards a short distance.

"My name. It is Zantruse. Or Zan. Or both. Ha."

The massed Tenno looked between themselves uncertainly.

"What the hell is wrong with you? And how did you get aboard?" The Oberon said.

"Oh. I walked. Ah, the Void, such a strange place... ha... Powerful, too..."

The Oberon noticed shards of gold embedded in the Loki's back, swallowing nervously.

Yes, Zan is crazy now. No, I don't care. Will someone please summarise characters for me at the moment? This is now a separate arc.

  19. NOTICE OF DEATH

No-one's replied in almost 2 weeks, so I'm going to declare this thread dead. We had a good 9-month run, so I'll just put a neat "ending" here. Feel free to contribute afterward, note that I will not likely follow up on anything.

    Never mind!

It took a few days, but I eventually trained Doc in the ways of movement and abilities. She's quite insane, but she's a brilliant fighter. Good at healing, too. Blew the medical expertise of the Trinity and Alad V right out of the water, and patched up Deke like it was nothing. When I asked how she did it, she just shrugged. Trade Secrets, she had said. I didn't press the subject.

Once Deke had awoken, Alad had taken the cure. Deke had cried- actually cried- tears of joy as he woke up clean and we unstrapped him from the table. They soon kindly requested that we- Doc, EAmorr and myself- vacate from their ship. EAmorr and I went to leave, Doc vehemently refused, preaching that the ship was her home too, regardless of whether a berserker and a madman inhabited it as well. I shrugged and left a radio frequency, as did EAmorr.

"We've seen what's hiding around the system. I'm just a Loki, I can only do so much in open combat. Saying that..." I went to the Inventory Station, the four of them watching as my armour changed- still a Loki, but Prime.  "I do seem to have had a bit of an upgrade."

EAmorr left soon after, her stealth pod vanishing from sight. I left moments later, peeling away from the Corpus vessel, the nose of my Liset into outer space.

"Operator, are we going anywhere in particular?"

"No idea, Ordis. We'll see what happens, eh?"

  20. "The other alternative is that you take the cure too, Alad."

"Yes, I know. But I think I'll keep hold of my Infestation for now. It could come in h-handy."

"Well, if that's the case, get out. Let EAmorr work. Doc, with me. We still have two more abilities to uncover."

I left the lab, Doc following close behind. She waited as I changed back into my Loki, the Trinity morphing out of shape and my stature changing. I took out my Tonbo. Doc looked at the wicked blade with slight fear.

    "That looks... sharp."

"It is. Don't worry, you can't be killed in the arena. Question: What melee weapon do you like using?"

"Erm..." She pulled a saw from her back. "Ubersaw."

"Alright then. Follow me back the the arena."

I waited for her to settle in her place, both of us standing at the same time. I pointed the bill of the blade forward, and she held her saw by her head, her left hand stretched forward. I darted forward, and as I passed, extended my reach. She saw it coming, managing to duck almost all the way out of the way and dragging the tip of her blade down my arm, the cylinder filling with blue red liquid. She extended her hand, a crimson lance hitting my leg as she cat Vengeance. I noticed the cylinder emptied out as she did so. She closed in again, and this time, I let her hit me, making it appear as if she was winning, watching the red fill the cylinder. When it was completely full, I changed tact, turning invisible and jumping over her, delivering a barrage of kicks and slashes that sent her reeling. I backed up slightly, preparing for a charge as I turned visible again, and Doc went wide-eyed as the blade approached her neck. She brought her arms up, impenetrable armour springing up and depleting the cylinder.

    "Hah! Ubercharge."

  21. I looked at Alad, seeking his permission. He nodded. I took the first vial, loading it into a syringe and stabbing it into Deke's neck. I pulled the trigger, the glowing liquid vanishing into her bloodstream. The effect was instantaneous- she began to shake, the Technocyte spores recoiling as their host was purged of the Infestation. They glowed blue for a second before exploding into dust. Deke' s breathing became slightly heavier, closer to normal, but still far too fast.

"Damn it, the cure hasn't saved her... EAmorr, Blessing."

  22. "Alright, take a break. I'm going to see how the cure has worked on Alad, providing he's taken it. Should be interesting."

EAmorr deactivated the shields, and I stepped out of the arena. I walked through the halls to the hangar, stepping into Deke's ship. As soon as my foot touched the metal, Alad's head popped around the corner. He was still Infested, and panic was clear in his eyes.

    "H-Help me."

"Did you not take the cure?"

"If I want to save Deke, I cannot."

I ran forward, following Alad into the operating theatre. As a Tenno, I had seen things that shouldn't ever be seen, but nothing could prepare me for the sight inside. Deke's chest was bristing with Technocyte spores, and the rest of her body was twitching sporadically. I saw the two cure vials on the worktop, far away from the table.

    "Why have you Infested her?!"

"She was already Infested, I merely accelerated the process. It's the only way I can save her."

I ran away, heading to an inventory station and morphing into a Trinity. I headed back, using Blessing to no apparent effect.

"Energy-based healing will not do much for her, Zan."

"Alad, I want you to be straight with me. Does she have any hope of survival?"

  23. "Feh, screw it." I turned away from EAmorr, and I pointed to a console. She pressed a button, and barriers sprung up around the arena. I raised my arms, extending them out sideways and exposing myself. "Hit me."

    "Huh?"

    "Hit me."

Doc looked at me, to her own fists and the black armour covering them, then back at me. She shrugged, and walked over to me, pulled her fist back and slammed it into my stomach. Her fist bounced off my shields. I rolled my eyes.

"Come on, stop messing around. Hit me."

    She punched me again.

    "Hit me!"

She came forward again, and this time I caught her fist, catching her off guard. I leaned in.

"HIT ME!" I roared, and she screamed, throwing her arms wide. A small radial burst knocked me back. She looked at her fists, staring at the scarlet energy wreathing them. I grinned. "Good. Now do that again."

She threw her arms out, the pulse radiating from her. I felt my shields take a hit.

    "This is... strange."

"Yup, and it's only going to get stranger. Alright, do you see the blue metre inside your helmet?"

    "Ja, it says 50."

    "What did it say originally?"

    "Erm... 100?"

"That's a cheap ability, alright, we'll call that Repulse. Now to see what else you can do. I'm going to attack you, alright?"

    "Nein!"

I ignored her and darted forward, a powerful blow to her head knocking her down.

"Oh, Zan! Something else has appeared!"

    "Go on."

"In the third slot, a small symbol."

    "What does it look like?"

    "Like a... lance."

"Alright, try pushing your arm forward very quickly."

She extended her arm, a crimson lance erupting from her palm and slamming into me. I winced.

"Okay, looks like that throws the damage you take out into a lance. Nice. We'll call that... Vengeance. Onto the next."

  24. "Exactly, and that's the problem. We have no idea what you're capable of. Oh, and before I forget..." I held my hand out, several bodies dropping from a digital swarm. "Cadavers."

Doc rubbed her hand together, snatching the energy orb out of the air as I threw it to her.

"Take that as a boost. We need to go somewhere more suitable for training."

    ***

Several hours later, we pulled up outside the Dojo I called home. I had made it myself as a place where I could be alone with my thoughts. I never had the conviction to allow someone else access, until now. I led Doc into a battleground.

"Take that energy and start fighting. We need to find out what you can do."

  25. "I appreciate that mutation is painful, yes. But water is a moderator. It slows things down. Also, it'll help absorb all of that excess heat."

The second vial was almost full. A few seconds later, the final drops fell into the tube and the machines shut down, several wires sparking and electrifying the water. My shields slowly began to degrade.

    "EAmorr, it's time to go."

She gave my a thumbs up and ascended, leaving the cavern and heading into the open water. I followed close behind, feeling slight pain as the nitrogen in my blood expanded- the breach in my armour meant that my seal was not 100% efficient. I had acclimatised to the deep. Pushing through the pain, I drew close to the surface, approaching Doc who was floating a few feet below the surface, marvelling at the tendrils of energy coursing around her blackened armour. Around her, the water was still boiling.

"Zantruse! Whatever did you do? I feel so alive! Ha!"

"Well, looks like you're going to need training." I sighed. "Again."
