I know I'm not the first to find similarities between Vauban and Batman : dark armor suit, reliance on gadgets due to lack of supernatural abilities, and especially, even though he's the "weakest" of the league (of Warframes), he still looks so kewl (preying on its victims from the top of a building)
So I recently got the Aerodynamic aura and decided to try it on Vauban, paired with Aviator in the exilus slot, for a total 64% DR while airborne.
To get even more airtime, I use a MOA with the Tractor Beam precept, to get about 12 seconds of gliding (which feels like a lot of airtime)
Well, it might not make Vauban unkillable, but you still take damage less often (than on the ground) and when you take some, 64% DR still means you take a 3rd of the real damage.
So here's my build to "roleplay" Vaubman, the Dark Engineer :
Vauban :
Aura : Aerodynamic
Exilus : Aviator
Mods :
- Primed Continuity
- Constitution
- Augur Message
- Stretch
- Streamline
- Vitality
- Adaptation
- augment / Primed Vigor (depending on enemy level)
It gives me :
- 207% duration
- 145% range (I don't like too much range on Bastille/Vortex but you can switch Augur Message with Augur Reach if you prefer)
- 130% efficiency
- 100% strength (I don't feel the need for more since I don't use his 3)
Now in terms of survivability :
- 520 shields : meh
- 960 HP : also meh considering I use 2 mods (Vitality and Primed Vigor)
BUT! with Adaptation (which doesn't really provide 90% DR all around, but is still OK) and Aerodynamic/Aviator (64% DR), plus the bonus armor from Bastille (I get 20 seconds bonus out of Bastille) of 78% DR, I can glide around and not minding shots.
Weapons :
- Primary : no guns, cause I'm Vaubman!
- Secondary : ok, maybe a secondary cause it's a horde shooter, also : Akstilleto
- Melee :
if you're an old gamer like me (Batman on the 80's Nintendo) : Kestrel with augment (free energy), cause Vaubman needs a Batarang (Vaubarang ?)
if you're from the Asylum period : Kogake or Obex for fist fights (I like Obex with the augment, once again, free energy)
I use Life Strike/Healing Return cause poor Vaubman needs some healing, but sadly Life Strike isn't working on Glaives currently
