and I'm not just saying this to be funny or anything, it's actually good. basically its the soma, but really good.

 

so from my evolution testing so far, pick overshield on kill, reload, and status

reload speed is simple, accuracy and recoil reduction are worthless, moving on

 

overshield evo will not only increase the base damage by almost double, but will also keep you alive. one thing to note though, hunter munitions is absolutely not worth slotting to get the slash kills. as with most other assault rifles and single target weapons, the slash procs only start dealing reasonable damage (or would have) after the target is dead. the soma prime is no exception, it simply melts through even steel path without hunter munitions.

so where so you get slash from? the innate procs. I've noticed a synergy between the overshield and status evolutions, the increased status lets you proc slash more often, and these slash procs actually do considerable damage, especially for a gun that isn't using hunter munitions (in fact, it might be better to not use hunter munitions, and instead use that freed mod slot to boost both the innate slash and the raw damage. could be wrong though, needs more testing and I'm not in game, would be funny if true tho lol).

 

and I'm sure you all know by now that I main limbo. my way of surviving with him where you probably shouldn't ever bring him (if you haven't figured it out by now, I am a lunatic) consists of spamming pillage to get overshields, the fact that I now have a second (and passive) way to get them is huge. and with the absurd amount of damage it does, its just good.

like I literally could not have asked for more, it far exceeded my expectations as to how well it would perform.

I hope not, if they keep making the incarnon form into a completely different weapon (latron has bouncing aoe, strun has aoe, lex is plasmor, furis is ignis, miter has bouncing aoe...), then I don't want any more incarnons

the people who enjoy using the weapon will likely not like the incarnon form, as they are typically so different from the base form that you might as well call it a different weapon, and meta slaves now have a new toy to play with, nerfing the dispo. sure there's the incarnon evolutions, but still, annoying for the people who actually enjoyed using the base form of the weapon that their favorite gun's dispo got nerfed because balance is nearly nonexistent.

yeah they definitely went about it the wrong way, the problem with the 3 aoes was that they were perfect in every possible way, even single target dps and room clear. what should have happened was halving the blast radius of bramma and zarr (and not nerf firestorm), as well as nerfing the damage. that would mostly solve single target dps, so more single target enjoyers are able to get kills, and solve room clear as well, as the blast radius doesn't cover the entire room. would also keep them usable still because rn you're pretty much required to use mutations along with other stuff like dispensary.

ok so I tried her with my lenz and it immediately ran out of ammo lol

also doesn't kill enemies very quickly for how much of a damage buff it is

then I tried my tonkor on her and it did kill them pretty quickly but didn't one shot them, so still can't see myself using her over limbo and vectis, also kinda boring

boltor has me immensely hyped for soma because not only do they have very similar stats according to overframe, dude was melting sp mot WITH THE BASE FORM. if that doesn't say anything then idk lmao

lex looks to be a disappointment tho, was really wanting it to be an even better single target to pair with incarnon soma when I get it (flipped roles on what I usually run, being vectis for single target, kompressa for crowds) but ig not so uhh (waste of those stats tbh)
