  1. 656h into the game, mastery rank 16 and I have never ever used psychic bolt, seriously, i can't even give my two cents in this thread lol. Thankfuly she was blessed with other 3 amazing abilities.

    Never used it too, except I'm only mastery 10 , I really hope this ability becomes viable to make nyx a complete badass even more than she is now

  2. The purpose of a pure damage ability is to be able to do damage when your weapons are ineffective or in situations that make your weapons inconvenient to use.  Upping the proc chance and fixing its pathing will allow the ability to do it's job.

    I think we can say that this ability is very easy to fix so I hope they take care of it
  3. Ang3l, why radiation?

     

    A good rework would be to make a target horrified/tremble in place for r% time, which would include an animation of them clenching their head (new animation Geoff!), take r% damage from the initial hit and take r% extra damage from all sources. It would add another CC to her list since she's a control type, and a damage boost to herself and party. The biggest element is time, but initial damage would still be small due to being skill1 but the damage % per rank would scale very nicely. The amount of mobs she can psychic bolt is based on r%, so a max of four.

     

    Even if the horrify element does not work on bosses, the r% initial damage and r% damage boost would still make it a great skill to her current tool set since chaos does not work on bosses.

     

    Example:

    R0: 1 target max, 3% initial damage, 5% extra damage taken for 4 sec, horrified for 4 sec

    R1: 2 target max, 6% initial damage, 10% extra damage taken for 8 sec, horrified for 8 sec

    R2: 3 target max, 9% initial damage, 15% extra damage taken for 12 sec, horrified for 12 sec

    R3: 4 target max,12% initial damage, 20% extra damage taken for 16 sec, horrified for 16 sec.

     

    For every secondary Nyx's psychic bolt on the same target, outside of initial damage, damage and time are reduced.

     

    At Max Rank, same target

     

    Nyx 1: 100% effect on target (12% initial damage, 20% extra damage taken for 16 sec, horrified for 16 sec)

    Nyx 2: 50% effect on target (12% initial damage, 10% extra damage taken for 8 sec, horrified for 8 sec)

    Nyx 3: 25% effect on target (12% initial damage, 5% extra damage taken for 4 sec, horrified for 4 sec)

    Nyx 4: 0% effect on target (12% initial damage, 0% extra damage taken for 0 sec, horrified for 0 sec)

     

    total: 48% initial damage, 35% extra damage taken for 28 sec, and horrified for 28 sec.

     

    A Nyx Player will know where they are on the chain simply by targeting the target and if they are able to cast Psychic Bolt again.

     

    Also the extra damage and horrify go into immunity on the same target after hitting 30 seconds for 10 or 15 seconds. The reduction and immunity will help prevent Nyx stacking. Also possibly making a target rage, either by gaining extra damage and armor and/or gain an aura (energy drain, slow, heat) for those 10 or 15 seconds would make a team of multiple Nyx Players to be weary of entering this immunity period.

     

    Natural Immunity to any of the powers, Immune from breaking the 30 second barrier or being the fourth Nyx the initial r% damage will always work.

    Good idea but would require lots of work and new coding which is something that I was trying to avoid since DE has lots of things to take care of and if they could fix things easily the game would be much better, the simple way to fix this as I said was to reuse animations of excel ' s radial blind since it makes the enemies look like they're going nuts fitting well with the effect of the psychic bolts

    You know what? I suddenly had a thought. Your psychic bolts aren't OP... it's UP, or underpowered!

     

    Three psychic bolts hitting one person:

    ~30% damage 30% of the time, every second.

     

    On average, takes about ~10 secs to kill every enemy, IF IT ALL HITS.

     

    Energy Vampire is even... better? I think.Nan, it's always the best.

    Stop hitting yourself stop hitting yourself ; P I'm not great with numbers and balancing I guess what you proposed for the 30% is better !
  5. What could be cool is if they worked similar to the Controller from City of Heroes ability "Spectral Wounds" from the Illusion Control powerset.

     

    Which essentially used the power of illusions to trick the enemy into thinking they'd been badly hurt (It was a decently high damage ability - One of the few offensive moves for the archetype) with the downside of the enemies eventually healing most of the damage after a while once they'd realised the attack wasn't real.

     

    Could really fit in with a Frame based around mental manipulation - Especially one that can already trick things into believing their allies are hostile targets. It could also lend itself to some large percentage based damage, which while effective would be balanced around being only temporary (At least part of it)

    That sounds cool, the main point is the ability has to to revolve around the psychic contronling idea which is not the case right now
  6. No one uses psychic bolts.

    I don't even need to say why it is just a bad ability and doesn't fit well into Nyx ' s skill set.

    A simple solution would be that when the psychic bolts come in contact with the enemy it staggers the enemy like excalibur's radial blind or saryn's miasma for a few seconds and gives a (for example) 30% chance each tick/second he staggers to hurt himself taking off like 5 to 10% of his own health/shield.

    This rework would fit nyx better since it comes back to the whole psychic control enemies idea of her warframe and would make the ability viable and scale very well into late game since the percentage of damage is done based on the enemies's max health/shield capacity. . It would not be op since it's only like 5 to 10% of health/shield!

    What do you guys think?

  7. Well not in every case but at least it is the best melee weapon for infested defense which is a very popular mission type for players. Take your galatine max out reach, speed and damage(recommend also using volt or valkyr for melee speed ability) then put on cleaving whirlwind do the easy broken bull combo and one shot tornado spin any enemy even a lvl 70 toxic ancient..!! How come. .? Every broken bull combo attack does 200 % damage, super large and fast aoe, and since the galatine multihits enemies your combo counter will rack up insanely fast, so 2.5 times damage from combo counter plus 200% damage and large fast are attack makes this weapon crazy amazing!!!!!!!
