I purchased 21 [Primary Frostbite] arcanes from Yonta. I was able to see them in my inventory. After upgrading to rank 5, it disappeared from my inventory. My lua thrax plasm currency was down as if I purchased the arcanes. I tried the same thing with [Arcane Blessing] and did not have the same issue.
