Ii have found a possible fix but its not ideal. I have a mac book m1 and streamed the gameplay from the deck to my m1 and then pressed "E" and that worked. This is not ideal but it is a possible work around.

lotus went on a suicide mission to kill Balis just after repairing her with the two archon shards. During that mission we engaged in a void battle with the lotus where a prompt "tap B" appears, but, after pressing "B" multiple times it didn't register. I found this weird due to the fact the I can save people from the mask during the previous mission using the same mechanic, "tap B", but it won't work with the fight with lotus. I tried remapping the back buttons of the steam deck to "B" and "E" and both times did not work.

i found a fix, remap one of the back buttons to a left click and it should work

I am also having this issue. This is actually a game breaking bug because I couldn't access my menu nor can I back out and thus had to restart the game.
