All of those points say to me that absorb/assimilate is fundamentally flawed from a team aspect and seeing it shoe-horned into a solo tank role is not detrimental to anyone other than the player looking to use a solo-minded frame/power in a team setting where synergy, intentional or otherwise, reigns.

Even through your point, there is indeed a good reason to take a second look and probably a second fix/change for Absorb/Assimilate. Many people see Assimilate as a sort of separation or unique feature of Nyx that makes her different from what she normally is. People used it to survive high pressure and cover allies, tank shots to revive allies, maybe even do mission/objective tasks without dying (such as capturing a target, hacking a cipher, etc.). According to my own interpretation of your statement, however, it absolutely MUST be a team-based ability. Not only does that contradict many abilities on several other Warframes (Why is Mesa's Shatter Shield not for the entire team? Why is Trinity's Link not for the entire team?), but it would also bring up another issue: why is DE ignoring an ability that should clearly be by, for, and from the team?

DE has nerfed the independent tank role of Assimilate in teams, or DE has never even taken a second glance at how Absorb/Assimilate isn't even good for teams to begin with. What I personally think is that not all abilities need to be seen from a team aspect. If all abilities are to be seen through a team aspect, then several abilities for even more Warframes would suddenly have a vital flaw: "they are not good for teams." However, I digress; the crux of the issue is that not only does this change bring up a handful of questions, issues, or blatant changes in gameplay, but it's that DE has forgotten about it after not even half a glance.

  2. I'm extremely grateful and proud of DE for all of the new content and such in this update. It's honestly fantastic, and I know that many will disagree with my standpoint on this (as in "dude why are you even complaining just be thankful and move on"), but I can't help but feel rather disappointed that Nyx's Assimilate/Absorb was left as is. I know that DE JUST came out with this update, and that they've been working extremely hard. I get that. I just wish that DE just took one more glance at the nerfed-Assimilate thread and did something about that as well.

  3. Steve's tweet says "Warframe reworkS". I genuinely hope and pray that Assimilate/Absorb will get a look at with that. Whether or not multiple reworks is what Steve really implied or not, I really hope it's finally something that we've been looking for.

If not, please DE. We really don't want Nyx and this augment/niche to die off due to negligence, and I dare to say neither does any of the DE staff members/players.

No, cast Smokescreen, press '4', ignore the Bladestorm functionality entirely and enjoy unlimited invisibility because your Smokescreen duration is paused while you're in Bladestorm (which you never leave).

Now, I haven't really Ash for Bladestorm in a while, but I think CFE Angry is talking about when Bladestorm is actually activated (aka you're slashing and hacking), not when you're in the scanning phase. I'm not sure if the Smoke Screen continues or is paused during the slashy-slash time, but if not then I think that's what he's talking about.

So that you can cast Smokescreen, press '4' and stay invisible for the rest of the mission?

That would be too easy to abuse.

Well, press 4, wiggle your mouse around like a maniac, wait for cooldown, and account for lag. And that's assuming there are even any enemies around.

(Not saying I want the idea, but y'know devil's advocate and what not)

welp is right. time to shelf that augment mod. shame.

Passivity and negligence will do very little for the things you like.

I'm not gonna say to start a rebellion or riot against DE (I have no intention for this; I truly want to see this game and the devs be excellent), but speak out for what you believe in and want to see in the game. I'm sure I speak for pretty much every common Nyx player that no one suggested, anticipated, or enjoys this change. It's highly improbable (if at all possible) for DE to fully and truly satisfy the entire community's desires, but I think it's sensible that if there's a very common, strong discourse against one of the changes that DE has done, that they look into it further. In this case, pretty much everyone in this thread wants to see Assimilate and even Absorb stop taking friendly fire, or at the very least stop the ridiculous energy cost behind it (which would be overpowered, hence just remove the friendly fire aspect as a whole; once again, I can think of NO situation where I wanted a teammate to charge my Absorb or Assimilate for me).

i know that DE wont change or even balance it.

so i think i'll just accept this nerf and throw the assimilate augment away

No, do NOT just accept it without proper acknowledgement from DE. We need vital communication between them and us, and simply saying "ok do whatever u wanna do DE" will be the ruin of this game and community. It may sound like we're complaining (which we kinda are), but it's vital for them as they need feedback to further improve not only our experience, but THEIR experience and game as well. Negligence is not a proper solution—it never is. Think of all the things that were just thrown away, and how much we want to fix them. Do you really just want to add Assimilate to that pile? I genuinely want to enjoy Archwing, Focus schools, clan cooperation and research requirements, and even basic missions like the gamemode and farming for Nidus; however, that is not and will not be possible if we just leave it as they were initially released.

Assimilate and possibly other Warframe abilities/augments is just one more example of something we WANT to enjoy, but can't due to some of the things DE does. I'm not going to say if they're bad or good, irrational or rational, and/or negligible or notable. Those are subjective values that we place unto what DE does; however, it's undeniable that DE did, has done, and will do many things that the community may or may not find generally unfavorable. It's up to us to give them suggestions, feedback, and criticisms for the game that we all want to see come to fruition and success.

(Note: In no way do I have an intention to rag on, hate, or undermine DE and what they've done. I just want to play and enjoy the game and all that it has to offer, with Warframe augments such as Nyx's Assimilate being one of them. If something happens to something I like, I think it'd be logical to speak out against or for it, depending on the action)

    *snip of stuff and videos*

I still can't get over the fact that it took a matter of 7 seconds and 1 Tonkor to drain HALF of the energy pool, and a Tigris Prime (which is a very reasonable, common choice for players to bring to ANY mission) drained ALL of it and almost crashed your game. My computer is not strong or particularly good at all, what the hell are lower-end PCs (or perhaps consoles, if they see the change themselves) gonna go through?

I was recently playing with a public lobby where someone who was too scared to bring Nyx in the Sortie today. All 3 of us guaranteed him that we would honestly try our best to avoid him and not shoot him in Assimilate mode, but he ended up bringing a Nidus instead because he didn't want to risk it anyway. Does that sit well with anyone reading this? Like, come on.

  9. I like Archwing quite a bit, but with the new one it's too easy to lose your orientation and it's a tad too easy to bump into a ton of walls or overshoot your location. In a sense, it's TOO fluid. Whether that's how zero-gravity physics works or not is not up to me, nor is it really within my knowledge, but I do know that it's not as fun to play as the old Archwing system. You can see examples of old Archwing movement with Titania and Sharkwing (Uranus Submersible), and although Sharkwing is very slow (cough cough, still hoping for a slight speed increase for that), they are fairly more controllable than current Archwing.

I haven't used the fixed Assimilate yet, but I'm all for the fix. Invulnerability isn't any kind of fun, there has to be some trade-off.

Maybe there should be some damage/energy gating, but I don't know.

Honestly, I suspect this whole issue highlights the "Miragulor problem" more than any problems with Assimilate.

The issues highlights any strong weapon in close proximity of a Nyx. I've had problems with the classic Simulor, Tonkor, and Ignis, but I've seen countless times where people have been affected by fallen allies using secondaries, misfires with weapons such as the Tigris or Hek, and even bullet-hose weapons like the Supra or Soma do some serious damage to energy pools.

It would be completely irrational for DE to nerf every single strong/AoE/secondary weapon just to accommodate for Assimilate taking friendly fire. Rather, just fix Assimilate taking friendly fire.

Also, let me remind you of "Mutagen Sample rain" that can't compare to normal resource drops for Detonite Injectors and Fieldron Samples.

Don't forget it's locked behind the arbitrary key system of the Derelict, and even if you have a key you'd still need a full, prepared-for-farming squad for anything remotely close to how much Detonite Injectors and Fieldron Samples drop.

I digress, though. I play Nyx every now and then, and the only reason I don't play her more is because her ability pool is pretty similar. Her 1, 3, and 4 are all forms of crowd-control, and her 2 is basically useless. Her augment for 1 would be useful if AI weren't so bad in itself, her 2 augment is also useless, her 3 augment is okay, and her 4 augment was all that she had to change up her play style a little more. It changed her stationary sponge-and-plunge to a somewhat-mobile tank. While her Absorb was good more as a panic button than an actual defensive maneuver (Why sit still when you can dodge away? In my opinion, it's a panic button, that's why), her Assimilate gave her not only mobility, but immunity from teammates large AoE attacks and possible troll attitude. As I said and @(Xbox One)FCastle74 quoted, there are very little (if any at all, I don't quite know) defensive abilities where teammates are allowed to friendly-fire. Why should Absorb and Assimilate be the exception for that? Once again, I've never found myself in a situation where I needed allies to charge up my stationary Absorb and, consequently, drain all of my energy EXCEPT for trolling.

    TL;DR - Nyx's kit is a one-trick pony. Why does/should Absorb and Assimilate allow friendly-fire anyway?

  12. I think a key problem is that not only does it absorb friendly fire (common case, Nyx reviving a teammate while teammate tries to shoot secondary), but it drains energy faster and sometimes in larger quantities. Nyx has nothing going for her other than her hard crowd control abilities, which require her energy. Without her energy, her low survival stats will really become obvious.

I think the fix should be to just get rid of friendly fire for both Absorb and Assimilate. There are very little defensive, crowd-controlling abilities that have friendly-fire as a thing for it (e.g. you cannot shoot down another Frost's Globe), and Absorb/Assimilate should not be exceptions to that concept. I don't know of a single situation where I needed friendly fire to charge an Absorb for me, god forbid an Assimilate.

  13. Everyone is doing it now, so I'm sorry if it would frustrate you lol

May I edit mine a bit? It's funny, because it seems that after all is already said and done, you can find errors and simple things that could be improved infinitely, ha ha.

  14. I figured why not? I haven't written in a while (as if I've ever written here, lol), so I'm a bit rusty. I think it's gonna suck. xD

*I apologize in advance if this is extremely long*

    I was there.

The Orokin Day of the Tenno. Where we celebrate our creations. Our best creations, in fact. Warriors of peace and honor, these beings known as the Tenno were once feared for being mutilated by the Virus. After the Sentients were handled, we knew that these being were more than just an experiment. They were our salvation.

    I was there.

I walked the entrance of the Fountain. I walked the hallways of the Palace. I walked into the throne room. I wore the high Targis Armor. The highest any guard of the Orokin could wear. I was wearing it for this Day. I wielded my very own Paris, my very own Hikou, and my very own Skana. Before the Tenno came to take our design and produce it for their own. These were of prime quality, and I was wielding it. To guard my family. To guard my people.

    I was there.

The day had begun with the gathering of all in the Tower and the region. Through archwing and Liset, all of my brothers and sisters had come to honor the Tenno. We wanted to. We wanted to welcome them and we wanted to present them everlasting thanksgiving. We, the designers and the architects, owed our lives to the Tenno after the Sentient War.

    I was there.

Front door of the Throne Room. I was to greet the Tenno first. I did. I thought that at the time, all seemed lovely. These warriors of fine design from our very own scientists were more than just a case of bloodthirst and piracy. They had their own sense of honor and respect, as well as their own sense of discipline and truth.

The Tenno entered the Throne Room after a short Narta. As the last one went in, I was to wait and look for any more of the Tenno, or any more of my brothers. There was none.

I closed the door of the Throne Room. I took my place at the foot of the Council.

The Emperors, together, gave the usual welcoming of brothers.

"My fellow brothers and sisters of the Void, we welcome you today to the High Palace of the Orokin. We hope you enjoyed the sights and structures of our architects as of this cycle; we know your's and our tastes of organization and structure are rather delicate and punctual.

"But today, we also would like to welcome and encourage you to come together as one with the heroes of our millennial, the heroes of our hearts and the heroes of our lives. We've come today to honor and to give our respect to our brothers: The TENNO."

The first beat sounded, and it bellowed through the entire Tower.

The Tenno began to bow, as if all at once. All 300 Tenno kneeled slowly throughout the duration of the beat's mighty echo in the room.

The second beat sounded, and it seemed to howl through the entire Void.

    I was there.

As the second beat began to fade back off into the oblivion of the universe, my brothers and I began to bow ourselves. Our faces to the ground, it was a symbol of great respect and humility. The Tenno practically gave their lives to only ensure that the Universe stays in balance. I felt as if I had such little worth without these beings.

The third beat sounded, and it seemed to scream throughout the stars.

Just like the second, but the Emperors and the High Priests themselves bowed down with great respect and knowledge of their heroes as well as what they've done. The third beat rang throughout the hallways, seemingly once more.

The fourth beat sounded, and this one seemed to surge through our systems.

We were to be still. We were to be silent. The halls echoed nothing. All I could hear was my breathing. My cold, steady, shaky breathing.

The fifth beat sounded, and the people and I rose slowly. All had their eyes closed, as it was a sign that one either found peace, or admitted defeat in themselves and gave the other victory. I opened my eyes, as a Guardian. I was to watch the people and ensure safety in case of a rogue.

    I was there.

Just like the 67th Day of the Tenno, a rogue Grineer platoon had sneaked in while we were silent. We were not prepared, but we did not stumble to their efforts. The Tenno were there to protect us. Their quick senses and keen eyes protected us on their own day of honor.

To prevent that, Guardians were to stay aware after at least the fourth drum. Little did I realize, that our threat was the one that we were under.

The Emperors and High Priests came up from their position on the floor. The acoustics of this drum were very low. My people opened their eyes to see that the Tenno were still in their kneeling position, as always.

    I saw it.

I saw three Tenno fidget around. These creatures of justice and properness never move during this ceremony. They knew better. They wore the legendary Warframes of Excalibur, Mag, and Rhino. The first three Warframes that we designed, they were considered holy. Excalibur saved us from the Sentients, Mag saved us from the invasion in our Solar Rail, and Rhino saved us from the Infestation outbreak after research went to bust.

The sixth beat sounded. The Tenno rose. I felt that it was faster than usual, and I could feel myself getting tense and anxious. I must have been the only one, though, because the High Priest of Sol touched my shoulder and called out to me.

"Brother, are you afraid or weary of something?"

I couldn't tell him. I wouldn't, because I was too prideful with Orokin values. "No, sir. I'm just... a little tired. I spent the entire time yesterday and this day in preparation for this great day."

He seemed to believe it. With my knowledge now, though, I highly doubt he believed it. I doubt that he actually thought I prepared. I don't doubt, however, that he knew what I was feeling. His face eased up and he seemed a bit relieved. He comforted me. "My brother, if you are feeling not how you should be, then I advise you to take your watch outside where you may not be judged by some of your other, narrow-minded brethren."

I gave a quiet chuckle. But I wanted to stay in case of any dangers. I wanted to stay in case of any difficulties, and I wanted to see the Tenno. Little did I know that the Tenno I knew were not the Tenno in front of me at the moment. I told the Priest, "But sir, I was told and assigned to take post here. I shall not leave my spot."

He looked at me with deep eyes. "My friend, it is not a sin to prepare quickly and quietly for a greater result."

I looked down at my gear. I looked at my hands and saw them shake. I decided to leave. "Yes sir. But please call at the slightest suspicious activity."

He, once again, looked with such understanding eyes. "Of course. But there will not be any." And he looked away back to the Tenno.

I slowly walked around to the back of the Throne and made my out through the alternate exit. I looked back and saw another Guardian take my place. I hoped that no one would see me. I hoped that shame was not brought upon me.

    I wasn't there.

The seventh beat sounded, and the Emperors gave another speech. About their Orokin history, past, values, and future plans.

"Tenno, we want to thank you for all that you've done. We will support you in whatever you need; we will shower you with your desires, and we will provide finest silk and rubedo for your arms.

    "Our history together dictates..."

I stopped paying attention. I listened to the same speech every astral cycle, and it just seemed that this time I was off of my regular game. Why? I couldn't help but feel dread for today. Perhaps there was going to be another Grineer raid again? I looked outside one of the grand windows. I gasped for air quietly and calmly, yet filled with dread.

    The eighth beat sounded.

I looked through the starry night and into the black vast fields of nothingness.

I remembered the one time, I heard of the Tenno killing many Grineer Commanders. Many Corpus Chairmen. I saw the balance they gave. Most recently, the Tenno killed Lieutenant Harken of the Grineer: I understood his evil and why his ways needed to be stopped. He was a power-hungry tyrant who started the mass Grineer cloning era. He was the reason why the Grineer were so foolish and weak now, yet so powerful in numbers. They outnumbered the Corpus, 25 to 1, and they outnumbered the Tenno... 112 to 1. And the Tenno yet again, win all the time.

I silently said to myself, "It's alright... Nothing will go wrong... You're just scaring yourself with large numbers and possibilities with very little chance... It hasn't happened every since the 67th Day of the Tenno, almost 25 cycles ago.

    The ninth beat sounded.

I thought to myself, "One more beat and we can all go ho-"

Pounding. I heard metal being drawn. This celebration NEVER drew metals, until the end when the 201st Sabre Cell performed the ancient Narta with Nikanas.

    I wasn't there.

Pulsing. I heard objects surge through the air. I heard fire being shot across the hallways. I felt the ground shake, as if something heavy was dropped, with 10 more of itself adding on to the weight. I heard odd vibrations that no man should hear.

    And then I heard it.

Screaming. Screaming of the people I love. Loved.

I charged into the room, Skana and Hikou in hand. The glistening of various swords and guns continuously shined throughout the room. I saw it. I saw each weapon being used. They were small enough to be concealed. I tried to shout, but nothing came out: only a whisper. That of a weak Kubrow who was unfit to live after birth.

No Tenno drew any large or heavy weaponry. And they still massacred my people.

A Fang dagger, drawn by the Tenno using the Ash Warframe. A tooth in the neon lights, he jumped from seat to seat, annihilating every other Emperor in their seats still. As if it were a Payara fish, it was just ripping and gnashing through skulls of my former leaders.

A Kestral boomerang, drawn by the Tenno using the Nyx Warframe. Using the amazing psychic powers that we produced, she controlled it to fly everywhere, bludgeoning my people upside their head pieces. A sharpened talon, gleaming throughout the empty space, tracking its next target one by one.

The Kogake sparring gear, drawn by the Tenno using the Volt Warframe. It seemed as though he used his electricity to stun his enemies before beating them to death. As if they weren't helpless enough. Simply a tide of brutal blows, he swept down all those who tried to run. They were already helpless and he didn't show mercy at all.

    Why?

I didn't know what to do. I held out my Hikou and Skana. I have skill, that of a high Targis Guardian. No skill, however, amounted to the death of 300 Tenno in fully charged Warframes. They tore us down with our own creations, that they tainted and produced madly. Their Excaliburs no longer had the lust of Aurum, and their Embers no longer had the glisten of Rubidium.

I feared for my own life. I couldn't help but think that if I charged in there with my weapons now, I would indefinitely live longer than my brethren, but not by a lot. I could probably take on a few more hits than my people, but no more than 10. They are too powerful. This is another fight that I cannot win, and must avenge in another time.

    I wasn't there.

I ran away from the Throne room. I locked the doors I ran past, in hopes that the Tenno would not catch up to me. I'm sorry, my friends and my brothers. I'm sorry. I felt so much despair, leaving. So much. It was unbearable. I couldn't help but seethe with energy that my ancestors have once yet told me to hide away. I didn't know what to do. I fled to a main lobby and caught my breath. I dropped my weapons, and fell to the ground. What am I doing? I'm dishonoring my brethren by not fighting alongside them... I'm not respectful, I just ran away from what was the most respectful event of the cycle... What am I doing? What have I done?

A loud bang followed by a ground-shaking crash.

Tenno reinforcements. I saw several Tenno Lisets while peering through a window. Fellow Guardians must have come in a group and taken out a few. Only by the work of the Lotus now, would the Tenno win. The Lotus. Damned be to her, she was the one who defected from us to lead the group of sick freaks and beasts. The coward...

I had to keep going. I must be the last Orokin member who is still alive and isn't being killed by the Tenno as of this moment. I grabbed my weapons just in case, and kept fleeing for my life. For my people's lives. For my people's history. For my people's vengeance. I must redeem myself of this horrible stalking. My people, I'm sorry I've failed to follow conduct and fight by your side. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you. I hate myself for it...

I reached the docking bay for Orokin vessels. Empty Tenno Lisets, everywhere. I didn't want to leave a trace, so I didn't dare to touch a single one. I fled to Bravo Dock and saw that my own vessel was intact. I thanked the heavens that it was. I entered, greeted my AI, Suda, and sat down.

I put my weapons aside. I took my Targis armor off. I'm in no need of this. I don't deserve it. All I could do was recall what happened today. Dread for the Tenno's arrival. Despair for leaving my people. Hate for the Tenno.

I sat alone, seething with rage for myself and for my people against the Tenno. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't there.

Footsteps. I can hear them in mass amounts. I had to leave. I turned on the engines and thrusters and prepared for take off. To somewhere that I have no knowledge of. Somewhere safe. But I don't know where. As I took off, I stared out the window and saw a large group of Tenno remaining, I would say around 150. I wouldn't have won anyway. One of myself couldn't even take on 5.

I grabbed my weapons and my Warframe which was left in my vessel. I put it on and I was filled with dark energy. That of black and crimson hues. This was the complete opposite of the Orokin: white and sky blue. I was scarred for life. I was different. My weapons also seemed to manifest themselves with this new energy. The bow turned into a twisted, glossy, bloodthirsty bow. What was once my own throwing stars turned into serrated throwing knives, that of a sleeker and sharper design than the Tenno call "kunai". What was once my Skana turned into a beautifully curved and wretched scythe. Filled with this new energy, I felt anew.

I knew then, that I must be the death of the Tenno. Being the last to hold Orokin secrets and ways, I must dwindle the numbers of the Tenno. Against a Clan, I cannot win. Against one, though, I can punish severely.

I wasn't there for my people when they needed me the most. So I shall be there for them when all is lost and forgotten. I shall stalk the Tenno until they haven't a clue of anything, then I will strike with Hate. I will fill their own people and loved ones with Despair. I will show them what Dread is.

The death of my people will mean everything to them. They may forget, but I remember. I was there. I will remember what you did, and I will remember the day.

You are not the heroes of the past. You are unforgivable, wrathful pieces of scum who deserve to wander the Derelict in hopes of finding flesh for yourselves. You don't deserve the gold and silk that my people tried to treat you with. You are thirsty tyrants of our remnants. I know you and your weaknesses.

I am Stalker, hunter of the Tenno. I will avenge my brothers for they have lived for me. I shall live for them.

You are not forgiven, by me or my brothers. You will forget, but know that you are not innocent.

This is pretty much all I want to sell at the moment. All prices are negotiable (to an extent), and if you have stuff that I want, then I can almost guarantee that it will be an instant trade. Oh right, and trading options are below:

What I want, if you want to trade (Note: TRADING. Not buying.)

    Blind Justice

    Crossing Snakes

    Boltor Prime Parts (including BP)

    Reaper Prime Parts (excluding BP)

I'm in-game and will be for a while. But if I'm not, you can contact me via my Steam profile. :3
