  1. One of the key things about Warframe is fluidity. Getting to move around fast and not losing your tempo.

When archwing deployers, Titania and then K-drive were released, big momentum breakers were introduced to the game.

If you try doing any type of parkour or high velocity move and then switch to any of these 'vehicle' choices, you'll be stopped 100% and then start to accelerate again.

It would be amazing if switching back and forth didn't cause loss of momentum.

If the problem was "having two different entities switch back and forth in-game", operator->warframe->operator would also cause a huge loss of momentum, but it's actually done right! The only problem with this interaction is the stutter caused by loading the operator model in the game.

  2. I agree with your point of view.

Since the plains are intended for all levels of players (because they are accessible from Earth), people have to be better guided about things. Players should first be more immersed into the feeling of the Plains before having so many concepts shoved down.

The best example is FINDING the quills. As far as I know, there's no mention for where they are located or why should you align with them. There's no story, no drama, no need to seek them. Afterwards, the Teralyst is a really big fight with very little information about it! Since we take so long to take one Teralyst down, a lot of questions arise. Are we doing something wrong? Do we need more standing? Do we need to talk to the quills for advice? Do Batalysts and Conculysts help us with standing?

The same goes for mining and fishing. Surely you can get blueprints and go do those things right away. But why? How? Is there any more effective method??? Why not make quick and simple fetch quests to introduce players to the optimal ways of doing things? A really simple story would be having a veteran miner/fisher give you their best equipment to show you the basics (and the advanced ways to do things) and then have you grinding towards that level. You'd have something to look up for!

For the story Warframe has, this strikes to me as quite amateur, because so many quests, storylines and concepts have been introduced in the past, and they have rolled somewhat smoothly.

  3. Forward movement is a key element of warframe. You run forward, bullet jump, reach places. Then, you will want to dodge things in either direction.

It seems that in a recent update moving forward for a certain ammount of time makes you stick to that direction for an unknown ammount of time. For example, if I move from one room to another and then let go of the W key, the frame keeps moving foward for some time and the stops moving. This does not have to do with Toggle Sprint, as tested.

This only appeared in recent updates.

This may only happen as a Client, but I'm still not 100% sure.

It seems the longer you run (press W), the longer you will keep going, as if you were creating some sort of "movement buffer" that gets too big and then has to empty itself... slowly...

    edit:

After a lot of testing, I noticed this happened in other games and with other people. The root of the problem is notebook gaming: the keyboard usually has some sort of membrane which is almost always in conctact with a hot surface. When gaming, it gets too hot, dilates parts and makes keys more sticky until you can't reverse the problem. So... By playing FPS games and pressing W to go forward, I made my W key sticky when hot (only when hot, thankfully).

Solution: USB keyboard for notebook gaming. (or buy a full desktop)

  4. I wanted to ask a question and the "Discuss this on the forums" links brings me here as well, so... Do we have access to more samples? I was thinking about using some of the mission sounds or boss phrases, but they're not included in the Fankit. If positive, is there a download link for them?

    Thanks in advance ^-^

  5. yeah, Original Poster, I had the same feeling about changing scope zoom without aiming. I used that feature and it was suddenly gone!

Also, they added those additional effects for Snipe Combos, but you can see them if you go on Options>Hud>Disable Sniper Scope (because some scope designs aren't practical for, as you said, end game stuff)

  6. Suggestion:

Make Ballistic Battery a Toggle ability

You toggle it on, it will store damage until the next reload. When you reload, it works like the current ballistic battery and adds the damage. With this change, every reload will consume energy and add damage to the first shot of the clip.

This will enhance the game flow and make ballistic battery usable

  7. I remember I did most of my tests using Excalibur (for Role Playing purposes) and I didn't have to repeat a lot of tests. The first one I had trouble was the hacking one, because I had never done a hard corpus hack. Then I got lucky with a bunch of others.

Yours in particular had me trying in the Relays before (you know, mastery rank test simulation) but I have no memory of trying it multiple times day after day, from failing.

If you can't even beat the Simulation, quote me on this comment so I can try it for myself (with excalibur) and give a more recent feedback. Cheers!

  8. I remember you came to me for that and there are a few things to be said.

I started out in one of the dead regions and barely found any players. I found out Alerts and Invasions were the missions to go if I wanted to play a true co-op. Boss nodes were also good locations. (Also, recently, fissures are great)

Trading and recruiting chats were dead for me, I never got to use them for such purposes. I resorted to this and warframe market websites for trading and I joined a clan to get into co-op missions.

I know it's pretty good to know English in these global games, but I guarantee a good part of the people in those dead regions may only know their mother languages (or are way more comfortable chatting in them), making them "pop up in a different region" a bad solution.

A good solution to this is having a "beginners' clan" where all the beginners from a same region are put into and then can go create their own clan or just go solo. (I've seen many games do it without previous notice and it works to create a community, but it gets too crowded and meaningless without moderation or further instructions)

A good thing about being a veteran player in a dead region is that I found a couple MR 2~5 people while I was doing lvl 15 survivals and they came up to me to ask for help either gathering resources or surpassing obstacles.

Thanks for your concern on that matter ^-^

I had problems with this too to simplify it the "View Mission Progess" shortcut key does not toggle the mission progress, but it shows it as long as u hold the key!

I got mistaken by the new Lunaro Bindings keys!!! Sorry ^-^! Everything got their own binding and works now!

I feel like you and many others are missing the point- this isn't about arguing that the toggle isn't a good thing, at least I'm not arguing that, it just needs to be sped up and have its drop chances pushed back up again.

That's exactly what I understood from your point and what I got. You have to stand around a bit for it to work, but it does work. It's like a popcorn machine right now. It might be tweaked to desecrate just slightly faster, but it's not bad or unpleasant as is, especially on survival runs.

Ran him on akkad the other day, and then again on the Uranus survival which I can't remember the name of (Maybe starts of an H?) and still got tons of resources, health orbs, energy orbs, and mods.

Less effective, yes, but certainly not worthless and not ineffective enough to make him not useful in that regard.

Totally agreed. You can actually play the game and get a great amount of loot.

  12. I've tried Odonata and Itzal, but when I came to the Elytron, I just couldn't see any of the skills being cast properly.

    • If I'm in open space and I cast the 1st, I can see the missile going its direction if I stop everything and pay attention, but I can't time the explosion (recast) properly.
    • The second skill is quite visible, but I can't see enemy projectiles exploding and don't know the affected range
    • The 3rd creates a big AoE of explosions, but I can't see where the AoE is being created, nor if I can create more than one. I can only see the actually AoE bubble of the spell if I'm in open space and far away.
    • I can't see where the 4th is headed, but the explosion is really pleasant to see.

Suggestion: incorporate more Energy bits to the skills so the energy colors stand out.
