tussletoes
EDIT: I am now 90% sure the problem is not on the mod, but Ash. I tested the weapon with Inaros and it worked perfectly. Something about the way Ash's Fatal Teleport works seems to not register as a finisher to Vulcan Blitz, so no AoE damage. Fatal Teleport in general is a bit buggy, as sometimes I'll teleport next to an enemy and no animation will trigger, or the animation won't play properly (such as Ash hovering above an enemy when doing a finisher, or just attacking the air). Hi! Haven't made a bug report before (or any forum posts for that matter) but I'll try to explain the issue as well as I can. Also: I couldn't find a bug report section for something like a broken mod, so I'm posting this here. Feel free to move the thread or w/e. Disclaimer: I could be totally wrong about this! I could really use some help testing this out! I recently got the Vulcan Blitz mod for my Jag Kittag. Saw videos of it online absolutely wrecking most enemies (except for high level grineer) and decided to slap a potato on my Jag to try it out. After watching multiple videos on Vulcan Blitz builds, I ended up with this build: https://imgur.com/a/xFYqeJ3 - (Note: I've seen video footage of builds without +finisher damage, or just less dmg in general, perform much better than my setup for some reason) From what I can tell, Vulcan Blitz' AoE damage benefits from finisher damage. I thought, great, I'll use the Fatal Teleport Ash Prime build I just finished working on: https://imgur.com/a/ROxyNfD - (As far as I know, none of these mods should really tamper with the mod's performance other than Fatal Teleport, obviously, but just in case) Here's the problem: In pretty much every mission I've played with these two builds, the AoE damage is almost completely negligible. Now, it's hard to post evidence of this without video footage so I only have messy pictures to try and illustrate this, but hopefully this will do: Low-level corpus enemies after I performed a finisher right next to them, note their HP: https://imgur.com/a/Dz815wi Barely a scratch. And yes, I know the mod deals better damage when you kill enemies with high HP, but even that didn't seem to make a difference. (In missions, anyway) Now to the part that convinced me the mod is straight up broken -- the damage seems to work perfectly fine in the Simulacrum -- mostly. I had been farming with this build on Hydron, Sedna earlier today and I had pretty much zero AoE damage when performing finishers on the enemies there. I thought, "well Grineer have armor, maybe I just shouldn't use this setup on them at all," which even then didn't make much sense. As ridiculous as the armor scaling gets later on, these were only level 30 Grineer. Then I tested the same thing on the same enemies, this time in the Simulacrum: https://imgur.com/a/zNQvYVk Damage!!! There it is!!! Not much since -- y'know, finisher on low-level Grineer, but actual, noticeable damage! (Plus noticeable explosion particles on surrounding enemies) Since that isn't the most solid piece of evidence, I tried performing a finisher on a Corrupted Heavy Gunner while the same enemies stood next to it: https://imgur.com/a/uot2F4g Chunky damage!!! Definitely seems closer to what this mod is supposed to do. One more thing: I had to run that exact same test multiple times, and... even though the damage DOES work in simulacrum, it only does *sometimes* ??? That last picture is my third attempt. No changes to enemy levels. No build changes. Performed a finisher on the same enemy. It just... happened to work, as every other time the surrounding enemies received zero damage. I'm completely lost, and I haven't tested on the Simulacrum a whole lot. If you're curious like I am and want to help testing, the Grineer lancer eximus levels are 30. The corrupted heavy gunner was level 90 (I'm only MR12). I'd really appreciate it if this was looked at, since it's easily one of my favorite melee builds in the game. Thanks!
