Character randomly walking backwards when told to go forwards

It just started less than an hour ago for me, but suddenly my gamepad's left stick inputs are randomly being read wrong. I thought it was a deadzone issue but if that were the case then it would always happen and this only seems to happen when I tilt the gamepad. It's not my controller because other games (and even the menus in Warframe) work fine. I've searched for similar problems but every thread I've found is a dead end.
