I still find that 5k to be a ridiculous amount, and the weapon definitely doesn't seem like it's worth the grind :/ so I'll just casually play till my Ghost clan can accumulate that amount. Steve says that the Hema cost was implemented that way to prevent stockpilers from researching the weapon at day one. But regardless some stockpilers did manage to research it on day one so that kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?? Whaddya think @NativeKiller? It's going to be an arms race, between D.E and players. D.E will keep on raising research requirements. In return, hardcore elite-clans will keep on stockpiling/grinding harder and harder. Care-free platinum purchasers will simply buy equipment rather than grind for them. Average players with casual gaming/healthy life styles will be suffering the most. EDITED: It would be possible for clan research to become obsolete. It may become much more practical to simply buy or trade for platinum rather than actually play the game to meet the research requirements. I believe that would be the wrong direction for this game to take if D.E actually wants to keep the "F2P done right" model.
