CaveCricket48
Longswords - More damage reduction with blocking Single Daggers - More damage on stealth attacks Now, what does this do? First, let's look at what all the other melee weapon categories do: Dual weapons are mostly regular attack spam, with a handful that can charge attack, but not as well as heavy weapons. Heavy weapons are mostly charge attack, with a handful that can regular attack spam, but not as well as dual weapons. Thrown weapons, they're ranged, obviously. That means that the roles of regular attacks, charge attacks, and ranged attacks are already covered, so what can we do to single daggers and longswords to make them useful without treading on another weapon group's job? By giving Longswords more damage reduction when blocking, that allows them to be a more defensive piece of equipment and instead of trying to be modded a hopeless attempt to match up to the DPS of other weapons, they're modded to keep you alive instead of killing enemies. New role using an existing game mechanic. Now, for single daggers, we already have stealth attacks. Why not just give single daggers higher stealth attack damage than other weapons? Again, a new role is created from an existing mechanic. Ta-da, Single daggers and Longswords now made useful without making another weapon irrelevant. theGreatZamboni
https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/108568-new-mods-and-the-longsword/ Good ideas, upvote for you. But I feel combining these ideas into a larger overhaul would be better. If we keep reminding them longswords/daggers are not up to par, they might do something. Keep up the awareness. KvotheTheArcane1
Good ideas, but personally it doesn't make them more viable as when you do want to strike something with your melee weapon, it's either niche (stealth attack) or still single target (both) and weak (again, both. Fang is different, as it's single target, but fast, and each hand can hit a different target)
