Scrapping broken weapons has now twice caused me to lose my equipped weapon

So far I've now lost my good equipped weapon due to going through and cleaning out my scrap. I am 100% certain each time I had scrap selected as each time I hit the scrap button it was between the repair and rush repair buttons in the center of the screen on the repair window and NOT the single button by itself to the left when you scrap something already built. No clue why this keeps happening to me but I've lost some pretty decent stuff trying to clean out the junk, doing it right, and just losing my built gear.
