a new take on thoughtful integration of mission types

right now when we click on a node we select the active state we wish to encounter:

kuva siphons and floods, invasions, nightmare, lich territory, fissure.

 

a cohesive integration of liches and all other mission types would be great for warframe in many ways.

before you vomit in your mouth and rush to smash that reply button with random, partially thought out objections... hear me out dudes. wouldnt you rather have the option of getting your kuva siphon finished while you grind your prime part and have that mission count toward your invasion score? and then get that nightmare mod you wanted at the end?

or do you really prefer having to divide up your time among playing separate missions based on scenarios for individual goals?

i suggest that integrated missions would work like this:

lich territory would function similarly to invasions, where everyone sees the same lich territory. It would not grow based on the lich's level. the method by which it can remain similar however, is *only* the rank of the lich required could spawn on a lich territory of that level. so your level 1 lich wont spawn on a mission that is designated as level 5 lich territory. think of it as lich hierarchical clearance.

imagine this was a thing. now we have the issue of 'level five lich turning x fissure / siphon into lvl 100 enemies' etc.

to fix this (and potentially address the murmur grind) it could work as follows. 

Instead of the potential for a lich of various level to spawn (based on the person hosting that missions current lich ranking), the mission level / enemy level at base doesnt change. Instead, the lich spawns with a thrall deathsquad escort service, and those thralls reflect the level of the lich. these would be the only elevated difficulty enemies.

liches tend to spawn a good distance away from the player they are after, and as such theyre not likely to ruin anyones game should they ignore the lich and continue playing. liches also dissolve after a time limit if theyre ignored so that theyre not a persistent pest. AND they dont target mission objectives like defense targets and such so theyre not going to impede any other objective progress or cause a failure. 

The thrall deathsquad escorts would supplement the murmur progress youre not getting slowly through the entire mission. that amount is already limited anyhow so it would be easy to adjust for based on the new limited number of thralls (i.e. the five or eight escorts). 

 

in short: liches can be ignored, spawn with thralls, do not interfere with objectives, only spawn in zones of that level territory (1 through 5), and you can get your kuva while you crack relics and those missions can count toward invasions or be nightmare.

and you would see icons representing the node-state modifiers on the mouse-over popups.
