Corpus Lich Concepts

The Corpus don't have liches, but they do have advanced evolving war machines. Though the Ambulas project failed, it was just the beginning.

The Titans are humanoid Corpus combat proxies, advanced robotic units designed to evolve over combat. And unlike the Ambulas (that didn't really change after each defeat), they utilize Lich mechanics to evolve from their defeats.

Titans have similar mechanics to liches. They are spawned by destroying a Titan Prototype, similarly to how a Kuva Lich is spawned by executing a Kuva Larvling. They control territory, stealing loot from those territories and creating high-level nodes to fight over. To defeat them, the player must equip the correct sequence of three Intrusion mods to breach the Titan's systems, after which the Titan can be converted or annihilated to get its weapon drop. And, they get Intrusion Data to discover the necessary murmurs by killing the Titan's Proxy units.

However, there would be a few new mechanics.

Lich/Titan Invasions: A Kuva Lich or Corpus Titan shouldn't just sit in its own territory. While a player has an active Lich or Titan, they should have a chance (2.5-5%) to appear in any mission in a stalker-type format, backed by 2-4 of their thralls/proxies. To make them a bit less annoying, a lich outside of their own territory will retreat without ranking up after being downed and mercied, granting requiem progress (half that of causing them to retreat in a normal fight).

Intrusion Missions: Instead of opening a new type of Void Fissures to get the necessary mods, players would instead play a new Intrusion game mode to raid Corpus servers and steal Intrusion Mods. In Intrusion, the players start by hacking a console to insert a virus, and must then wait 10 minutes for the virus to execute. However, there is a 1 minute timer before the Corpus firewall shuts down the virus. To keep the virus operational, the players must hack additional consoles scattered about the map to delay the firewall, with each hack adding 1 minute to the timer. Each completion of an intrusion mission would have a 10% chance to reward each of the eight Intrusion mods and a 20% chance to drop some other items (not sure what exactly). Optionally, there could be a resource that needs to be used as a key to enter the mission, depending on how the balancing works out.

Escalated Conflict: A player can have both a Lich and a Titan active at the same time, and can equip both Requiem and Intrusion mods at the same time. While both are active, 25% of progress on one's murmurs will apply to their opponent as well. In addition, while both liches are active, they will fight each other, Conflict Nodes will spawn, where the player can complete an extermination where both Thralls and Proxies spawn (allowing the player to progress in both liches at the same time). Only one conflict node will be active at a time, and they will be in random systems, which can potentially include planets where neither controls standard territory.

Lich vs Titan Combat: If a Titan shows up in the same mission as a Lich, or vice versa, they will prioritize fighting each other. This can happen either because one of them invades a mission in the others' territory, but is most likely to occur in Conflict Nodes, where if one spawns the other will spawn soon after. In such a scenario, the first Lich/Titan to be dropped to Mercy state will be executed by the other, banishing them from the mission. This grants requiem progress to the player (half that of a normal 'kill'), and does not rank them up. Afterwards, the other can be fought as normal.

I like intrusion as a concept, but For a 10-minute mission, I want to learn the intrusion mod AND it’s position in the sequence. Or, make it endless, cycling up to have to hack 4 consoles each increment, until the firewall just can’t be beat, and award murmurs or datastores or whatever.
