I was able to fix this by disabling audio enhancements. (NOTE: This was 4 years ago on a rather old system. Currently on a new system. The following fix may or may not work for you). If you want to try, You can disable audio enhancements by: > Control Panel > Sound > Recording tab > Click on your microphone device.
