SecretDragoon
The same thing with Elemental Mods do they only make %x of your attack do Lightning/Fire/Ice damage rather than increase damage?
DogManDan
As far as I am aware it does not give you more base damage. These mods only % your type of attack. If you have an Armor Piercing Mod at 9.1% then you have a 9.1% of bypassing the armor when using that weapon.
Carillon
they give you additional damage with the elem/ap properties. for example, if you have a 100dmg wepeon with a 10% AP damage mod, you'd do 100 normal damage + 10 AP damage.

BL4CKL1STED
The other guy was wrong. All mods give bonus damage with elemental properties. Armor piercing damage is like normal damage, but does not get reduced by armor. Some weak points (ex. Corpus Crewman helmets) multiply this damage type by something like x10. (Corpus crewman helmets also ignore all normal bullet damage) Fire damage is multiplied x2 vs infestation Elec damage is multiplied x2 vs robots Freeze damage is multiplied x2 vs shields, and adds a slow effect. If you slot a mod for +%[damage type], even a low level one, you should see more smaller numbers popping off of enemies.
