Idea For Another New Sentient Enemy

Most sentient enemies posses a core and can adapt to damage. But then there are also some of them that have neither a core and also cannot adapt to damage (like the Brachiolyst). But what if we had an in-between enemy?

It has a core, but its core is small and fragile. It can adapt to damage, but not to the full extent of some of its more powerful brethren. It can only adapt to 1 new damage type every 5 seconds. So it can adapt, but it will adapt to damage types at a much slower pace. And it will begin losing some of its adapted damage types over time if it does not keep receiving damage of one of those damage types.

Example: It gets hit with slash damage. It now adapts to slash damage. But for the next 5 seconds it cannot adapt to another damage type. And if it does not recieve any slash damage for 10 seconds, it will lose its adaptation to slash damage.

Note: Exact numbers are still up for debate. The current numbers are merely for demonstration purposes, and to give a general idea of where I envision the numbers should be. But it is all subject to change.
