Detailed Mod Effects Stats And Mechanics?

Question

Hi there,

I'm aware of the thread which lists the basic function of all the mods and artifacts, however, it doesn't really clear some things up for me.

When you say armour piercing damage, this confuses me a little bit.

a. What is the exact effect of armour on your bullets? In some other games, armour is a flat damage reduction i.e. if the enemies armour has a reduction of 20, and your bullets had a damage stat of 30, then you would do 10 damage.

b. Is armour piercing damage a flat damage boost against armour? Or, if the above mechanic exists, does it reduce the damage reduction by the set percentage?

c. How does our own warframe armour work? If I increase my armour by 30%, what have I increased. If I was originally going to take 30 damage, how much would I take now?

Freeze damage:

a. What is the actual value of the damage boost against shields?

In the mod/artifact thread it says that mods are stacked multiplicatively, and then it says they stack additively. This is a contradiction, can anybody clarify?
