TheAscendedOne
The Telar are a set of curved, serrated throwing knives laced with detonite. They spin vertically as they fly through the air. As they fall more drastically than Kunai, Despair, or Hikou, they are best used as a mid-range weapon. The Telar deal an initial hit of Serrated Blade damage and stick to the target or surface like a bolt before exploding for AoE Fire damage after a delay. The knives will glow with their energy color before exploding. Advantages over Kunai/Despair/Hikou: Higher damage per blade. High AoE damage, which has a reasonable critical hit chance. Excellent against infested. Fire AoE can effectively stun certain types of enemies. Extremely ammo efficient. Can be aimed at walls, floors, and other surfaces to damage nearby enemies with explosions. Disadvantages over Kunai/Hikou/Despair: Slower fire rate. More dramatic projectile drop makes it difficult to land at long ranges. Slightly slower reload. Lower clip size. Explosions can harm you (but not teammates) if you are in the vicinity. Reactor1337
Looks like the most powerful weapon ever! That's why it'll hardly be an event reward, being able to get this one from lab would be too easy for it's abilities.
TheAscendedOne
It's intended to be a high tier throwing weapon on par with other clan research weapons (namely Ogris and Acrid) and the new Tenno weapons. And yeah, I had forgotten to mention the explosion self-damage that it shares with the Ogris. Hardly an ultimate weapon, given that it is forcibly locked into mid-range. DarknightK
Exploding ranged weapons... I'LL TAKE IT. Pretty nice idea, maybe you could (or someone else) sketch a quickie of what the blade (not holster or anything) may look like?
