Huge Fps Drop When Hosting

Hi all

 

I run the game on a i3570k and gtx760, all maxed and very good fps when solo or joining a game.

 

I have a poor dsl line (2mbits) so i try not to host but when it happens my framerate is cut in half maybe even in 3 !

 

Does it come from poor dsl or something else ?

When you host almost all the calculations for the match are done by your computer, so it is put under increased stress and as a result your performance will suffer.

erf ok its a bit weird though because it does not encourage people to host ^^

Any known tricks to counter the fps drop ? like some graphical options that impact more than others when hosting ?

It's fine to play all maxed when you solo, since it's only using your internet connection for yourself. If you decide to host, lower/turn off all your graphics settings since you'll be sharing your connection with 3 other people. I usually leave color correction untouched since it doesn't seem to make the lag any worse.
