The Sacrifice ~ Triton, Neptune ~ No Shield Dmg???

So I reached this point in the missions and got stumped. I mean all it says is to Drop the Shields. So I went to the wiki. They say to use the Void Beam to drop his shields. I get to the fight again, pop out my operator, shoot my void beam and... I get a ton of 0 dmg grey hits with like 2-3 blue shield hits. All the while Umbra is beating all over the place like a wet sack. 

Am I missing something? Is this bugged? I am honestly at a rage-quit moment here. I just came back after 8 years away and find stuff like this super frustrating.

Soooooooooo, I have exactly 1 attack that is even effective and he has a 99% chance to block that attack... Never mind the fact he moves around like a coked up monkey and just trying to land a hit is hard enough.

I am just going to drop an , "I'm Sorry!" I realize I am sounding like a whiney little B. I do have mental health issues that are not helping here but this is super frustrating. This is literally the 3rd place I have asked about this and no answer yet. If there is some special technique or way through this fight please let me know. I gave a very nice review of the game and this one fight it making me question that. I love this game and want to keep loving it. However, I feel like I am beating my head against the wall here.

OK, I am watching a YT vid from 2 years ago and that guys Void Beam is clearly getting way more hits in than mine does. I'll give a little more time for someone to chime in before I actually file for a bug. Probably reboot my PC and try it 1 more time.

OK, I got past it but it did not feel good. I had to Revive like 3 times as I chipped away at his shields painfully slow. I would strongly recommend reversing what ever was done to this quest. Like I said, in the vid from 2 yrs. ago blue damage was popping off him like crazy. For me it was mostly grey 0s with a few blue procs now and then. This left me feeling like it was not working. Forcing the player to Zombie through a fight is a VERY poor design for a game. The player should at least feel like they are making progress, in this case I did not.
