Linux Crashing issue after update 36.1.6

Recommended Posts

ever since update 36.1.6, I'm unable to play the open world missions. I'm only able to do star chart missions. Tried loading into Orb Vallis for fishing, or into Duviri Lone story for pathos clamps the game freezes and crashes the steam client too.

System specs

HP laptop with core i3 1215 U, 8 GB RAM, integrated GPU

running Garuda Linux

tried using Proton 9.0.2(usually i use Proton experimental compatibilty) or changing between DX 11 and 12    - Same results

before this update, i could run all the missions on my potato laptop

edit : I even reinstalled the game, same thing repeats

I don't think that's the games fault. I also play on linux (Arch, with default proton settings) with no issues on my end.
Try to force a crash and attach engine log - ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/230410/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Warframe/EE.log
Maybe this will point out what's wrong. You can also try to debug it on Proton's end: https://www.protondb.com/help/troubleshooting-faq#how-do-i-create-logs-of-a-game-i-run-with-proton

btw, the game does not officially support linux (unless i missed something), so you might have a better chance of getting help on r/linuxgaming
