New frame idea. Ulysses the Dax General Frame

Recommended Posts

Okay, so this is both a genuine concept and an excuse to fill in the final missing letter in the list of frame names so here we go.

Ulysses was originally a Dax soldier veteran turned warframe primarily used in field combat with Dax recruits/conscripts to teach by example once they passed the modifications and Boot Camp training. Normally he was brutal and ruthless against the enemies and only slightly less so with those under his wing. However, because of his effectiveness, he had never once actually lost a soldier in the field. Until Ballas. One day while going through training drills with his men, one of the seven had personally reached out to give him a medal for his undying, loyal service to the Orokin empire. Except when he got there, it turns out Ballas was the one who sent the encrypted message to lure Ulysses out far from his encampment so that Umbra, under the command of Ballas, could slaughter the entire camp without competition. All in the name of humility.

Unable to fight Ballas but enraged nonetheless, from then on Ulysses took his training regiment into a far different course. Instead of treating his soldiers with the same brutality he showed his enemies he instead started taking more of a fatherly role to them. Gaining each and every one of their trust and instead took more of a defensive approach to training. Making his sole encampment more of a fortress than a place to settle down between outings. This allowed more space to be added to the fort and eventually under complete secrecy that he gained through his newfound soldiers' trust, a room was made specifically designed to undo the control the Orokin had over their bodies but allowed them to keep the physical enhancements they had. Soon after Ulysses had the ability to take revenge he so desperately craved. A few months after the room was made some Orokin minor royalties decided they wanted to take a vacation in their camp, Ulysses after hearing about this rallied his soldiers and made a speech which he had spoken through a PSA using a TTS bot. The speech was mostly designed around his original failure and him admitting his cruel past. How about they were his second chance and he didn't want to fail this time. He then let them know why he was giving this speech now of all times. The Orokin royalty was arriving and he was going to take his revenge. He then offered a choice, "Option one. Go home. I have given you the freedom to do so and I will hereby inform your families right here and now of your discharge. I do not blame you if you choose this. This is a dangerous matter I am delving into here and I trust you all enough to take this to your graves. Option two. Stand and fight here with me now. If you do this know you are a betrayer to the empire and will be permanently on the run until you are executed or die of natural causes. I will give you all 48 hours. Good luck, and voidspeed men."

Not. A. Single. Individual. Walked through his office door. Instead, he walked out of his office and was greeted with the entire fort saluting him for his bravery and willingness to act. It was there that the Royalty was at their doorstep and they, all with fake smiles, welcomed them in. Ulysses on the other hand went out for "resources". What really happened was that he approached the nearby grinner outpost and made a deal. He offered the heads of the royalty to them if they could help distract them long enough to be captured in the chaos and executed right there on the balcony for the grinner to witness. The whole plan went off without a hitch and in the end. The grinner got what they were promised. However, Ulysses didn't count on enemy spies to witness the event and report back to The 7. It was from there that the Impenetrable fort of Halley's Comet was doomed to fall. The 7 wasted no time in sending a kill squad of warframes and still loyal Dax to kill every single person on that comet. After 3 days of fighting and slaughter the fort fell and Ulysses as a final act of vengeance died by self-destructing killing every single person in that area and the shrapnel and rubble that ensued destroyed the remaining fleet along with the comet.

Ulysses. Summon Caster (To be adjusted)

Health: 400

Shields: 700

Armor: 450

Energy. 450

1st ability: Rally

Ulysses summons a group of ethereal Dax soldiers to fight alongside him. Functionally similar to the Kalh beacon but with more numbers. Can be used more than once to restore numbers and health only after 2 have died but cheaper if you let more die.

2nd ability: Hellfire

Ulysses puts a beacon down for a carpet bombing. The strip will always be the direction your camera is facing and starts at the beacon placement. Cannot self-stagger. The bombing area is wider if you have more Dax soldiers alive.

3rd ability: This is War

Ulysses proudly does his warcry that pierces through the soul. Any enemy in a medium-sized cone aoe around Ulysses has their accuracy reduced by 25% and their defenses reduced by half for 5 seconds. The timer is not affected by duration. The cone also is repeated for any Dax soldiers albeit smaller AoE and that number is also locked but not for Ulysses,

4th ability: March of pride. Can only be cast if you have three Dax soldiers alive.

The soldiers rally next to Ulysses, following his every move, and have their defenses bolstered but are still autonomous from you in terms of fighting.

Unique traits. The Dax scale with enemy levels and strength. The tradeoff is strength is 25% less effective on their stats.

There are normally two swordsmen, 2 gunmen, and 2 assassins every time you summon using your 1.
