Panzer Vulpaphyla doesnt spread viral like it is supposed to

Just what the title says. The vulpaphyla attacks with it's claws, even with no attack mods, and does not shoot viral spores, even with the mods viral quills and panzer devolution.

While in the devolved form it animates like it is shooting the spores, but it does not.

I and many other players pick this companion for the viral priming, and even if the viral was shot and then the companion attacked, it is taking away from the time more spores can be shot. Ideally the damage would be added to the spores equal to the status chance, but I do understand that this would be quite powerful.
