AX-52 Feels Lackluster (Unmodded)

Fairly happy with the 1999 demo overall. However, wielding the secondary confirmed what I felt during Whispers in the Walls; Arthur's AX-52 hits like a pool noodle. I get it's more of a crowd-control weapon, but when I can one-tap most Scaldra units with the secondary, while the AX takes half a mag or more.... it doesn't feel very good. Modded, the AX feels fine, I've had a blast running around with the one I got from the Tennocon Twitch drop. But something about its base stats doesn't seem to be performing. Maybe tweaking it with a bit more base damage and bit less crit multiplier would help? That, or have the "base" one Arthur wields carry a bit more oomph?

Higher rate of fire, less damage. Higher damage, lower rate of fire, easy for me to understand.
