Making Boss Missions (Not Bosses Themselves) More Dynamic

right now, assassination missions are kind of simple. go to boss room, kill him, go.

but what if we add some more things to each mission?

as an example, what if the jackal mission starts as a sabotage mission, in which you try to destroy the production of the proxies known as jackals, or the research made for mass producing them.

maybe there could even be a mission (or an optional or obligatory objective in the same assassination mission) just after the current jackal mission in which the tenno try to destroy the factories that are going to make the jackals, so that in some way we have some context in why we are doing the sabotage mission.

we could maybe add optional objectives to some of those missions. as an example, we could find warframe cryopods in the nef anyo asassination mission, and we could do an optional, short defense mission there, maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

recovering A number of cryopods gives X reward, and recovering more gives more rewards.

these optional objectives should give us extra rewards (maybe special weapons, or just credits, depends on the difficulty).

some of the optional objectives could be way harder than the actual boss, so that high level players have a reason to go back to do the mission, and they can get a special weapon.

also, these optional objectives could have a twist on how they work. as an example, with the jackal mission, you have to destroy the jackal producing machine (which would have an extreme amount of HP)quickly, because you are being flooded with enemies, and every minute the machine creates another jackal.

any feedback would be apreciated, and any other ideas for other bosses too.

Sounds like more grinding and more player outrage, mabye instead of extra objectives the missions or bosses them selves could be more dynamic like a good metroid mission or have players at the start fight for example derp anyo when suddenly the ground below you falls down and deep anyo would use his jetpack to fly to hover grounds and all over the place, while the tenno would have to utilize all of their abilities to stay on safe ground and attack him from their, the ground would fall every 5 minutes.

Maybe not a special weapon, but perhaps a second roll at boss loot. So you could potential get a chassis and a helmet on mission completion, for example.

but why would a high level player make the effort for getting only another helmet?

with a speciual reward, high level players are encouraged to do these extra hard obejectives.

that is more for the boss fight itself.

right now, im trying to make the mission itself more interesting, not the boss. also, it wouldnt be grindy. you only have to do an extra objective that will always give you the same reward. no RNG in your way.

During LV19 they mentioned how the battle with the new Vay Hek would be a map battle, and not an arena battle. Interested in seeing what that means.

i didn´t remember that. sounds great!

i imagine it´s related to how they said that vay hek is a propaganda machine.
