How Does Ammo Auras Work?

Such as if I get the sniper or assault aura will it increase the odds of ADDITIONAL ammo drops? Or the odds that when an ammo such as pistol drops that it will instead be sniper ammo? I'm debating using this aura for my Synapse or Soma since they ammo drain like crazy and often I find myself at 83/0 or 20/40 with no ammo drops around, thus I will use it if it adds ammo drops rather than converts what would of been rifle to sniper.

Double check the wiki, but I'm pretty sure it increases the amount of that type of ammo dropping in addition to normal drops (It wouldn't be nice if three people equipped pistol scavenger and the guy with the Grakata got no ammo)

It increases drops of the specified ammo. It shouldn't remove any other ammo drops unless they changed it recently.

They do not increase the frequency of ammo drops. They increase the amount of ammo you gain from picking up ammo of that type.

if you're running out of ammo so often, why don't you use Ammo transmutation mods on your weapons?
