Physx In Warframe

I dont think any gpu without gddr5 is capable of running physx

Physx is stuff done by a dedicated co-processor (before 2008 when it was still from Ageia) or by the more generalist CUDA coprocessors of the card, what does gddr type have to do with it? That's just access speed differences.

The officlal requirement is Geforce 8 and newer (that have CUDA coprocessors) and at least 256 MB of dedicated vram.

Ok but can AMD cards run it with tressFX?

Nope. Physx from 3.0 onwards can be run on the CPU too, if your baby is strong enough (and the effects aren't so prevalent) the performance impact will be minor. http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html

You can also buy and install a cheapo NVIDIA card and use it as a physx coprocessor http://physxinfo.com/wiki/Hybrid_PhysX

Likely. Physx by itself isn't particularly demanding for a GPU.

Besides, I really doubt anything other than benchmarks can detect the difference between gddr3, 4 and 5.

More often than not what really matters is the memory bandwith, which is defined by the card's controller (the card's quality and price here), not the vram technology used in the card.
