HolidayPi3
I recall being able to melee through the shields that Shield Lancers hold. After the patch, I can't do this anymore-- with a melee weapon or Valkyr's Hysteria (Hysteria is now even more annoying to use... go figure)Was it always like this? Am I just hysterical? BrotherJudas008
No i remember being able to melee through the shields. It is annoying because I still try to do it, only because I got used to it when they got close and could just out distance their shield swing with my sword or whatever... Now I just get knocked over. shut
They changed it so that their shields block melee strikes coming from the direction that they're facing. It makes perfect sense from a realism standpoint, but honestly, I think it's a bit much. In any case, giant, heavy weapons (Fragor, Jatt) should be able to bypass it, if realism is the devs' goal. For the sake of keeping gameplay as un-frustrating as possible while maintaining/enhancing realism, the shield lancers should be unable to do their charging and shield bashing while getting melee'd. They should just sort of sit there, defending themselves-- taking no damage from frontal assaults, but dealing no damage, either. VKhaun
Yikes... I always thought it was odd that I could melee them, but they're so infuriating that I didn't question it. Thanks for the heads up.
Lord.Finster
I'm pleasantly surprised about this stealth change. The provide more of a challenge now. My tip: Use a jump attack to knock them on their backs and then finish them off.
