The Swarm

So every faction now has an 'assassin' so to speak. The zanuka type, the three grineer and stalker. But what about the 'leaked' new faction, or rather returning? The infected. Anyone who hasn't watched the dev stream, the infected are boudn to make a return, with a vengence. Not on a world or ship partially infected, but on a world they have colonized over the centuries. So to go along with these new worlds, what better time to make The Swarm.

 

The Swarm

 

These swarms of enemies come in groups of ten, up to fifty in a single swarm. After battling infected, and taking more then your fair share of cuts and bruises, its time to face the possibility of an infected attack. No tenno can cut their way through hordes of infected without getting their stench all over them, and the Swarm is what happens when you do. The swarm come at you initially in a wave of ten, simple to fight off, espcially if you've planned ahead. Then the second, third fourth and fifth come at you faster and faster. Be warned tenno, if you do not defeat yoru foe quickly enough, you can be overrun. The first four waves of the swarm, range from your average bi pedal to quadraped *sp?* infected. But the final wave a new form of infeced have emerged, smarter and more deadly then any other. These infected have a spark of sentience. Failed to be controlled by the Orokin towers, these infected have returned forming their own 'swarms' thus their name. Highly intelligent, and not always attacking from close range, these infected have a multitude of attacks, and will not hesitate to use them, be careful tenno. The swarm is comming.

 

The possible new types two of each will be in the final wave

1: Racnos: Heavy melee units, armored much like rhinor or grineer. No one is certain WHAT this infected used to be, but best guess is a heavy class grineer.

2: Tetrans: These infected sport metalic like barbs al over their body, they seem to have a natural ability to absorb energy, and expel it with great force and power. (these would absorb energy from the new energy traps/malfunctions that litter grineer ships)

3: Malcone: These infected have an even stranger power. Some research says these are infected that have survived Nyx's powerful chaos ability. Adapting this strange power to themselves, a tenno effected by these infected better watch their fire, that enemy might be a friend.

4: Savage: This infected is a lot like racnos, proficent in melee attacks, by why is it diffrent? It's a reach type. Instead of risking itself against you, it will attempt to pull you into its arms, and hold you against its body that are covered in poisonous spikes. The tenno unlucky enough to be trapped by this beast, better hope they have enough sheilds to withstand its brute force. For once it lets go, its already winding up for another strike.

5: Primus: Named after the seemingly prime like look, these infected are the most intelligent of all the new infected. Containing the most Orokin technology they are the 'hubs' for which all the others are commanded. Taking out a Primus will send the infected into disarray, scattering them and causing them to atack any nearby enemies aside from the tenno. But these infected arn't without their own powers. Having powerful sheilds melded into their flesh, the are difficult to hit, and strike with a powerful pulse of energy that will rip through a tenno's sheilds. While low on health,  strike to the sheild will send any tenno realing.

 

i though of this after the dev stream, and i think it would be awsome to get an infected based target hunt. The idea behind it would be if you kill to many infected, basically a 3 part infecton or smiply kill an infected boss like stalker, these guys would come after you. The idea behind teh 50 infected is that no infected is ever alone. Thy would be shown in by lotus commenting 'Tenno be on the look out. I've spotted a ship heading your way. Theirs infected abord' followed by 'They've found you tenno, prepare yourself, the infected are comming' And when they attack 'Tenno, scans show these infected are more organized then normal. Be wary, there may be something unexspected' And then in teh final wave of the assult 'Tenno, these are the new Infected we've been warned about. Many of our opratives have met their end by the hands of these. Destroy them, and stop their advance.'
