[Grineer Heavy Unit Concept] Grineer Commando [Render Included]

So, I was inspired by New Hek, New Ruk, The G3, and Lech Krill. They all are in a high command, have excellent combat/appearance style and awesome gameplay, but what if we can make this into one sort of heavy unit, hmmmm?

 

Statistics:

 

Health: 850

Armor: 40

 

Appearance: Non-Appearing items: Has a grineer flag on fanny pack, as tall as Lech Krill, and has smoke emitting from his pack, and wields  manticore 

 

 

       Rough image Concept:

Voice acting: Sounds like a much, much deeper version of U12 Tyl Regor [No transmission since it is not a boss]

 

Weapons:

 

A manticore [same coloring as suit though]

 

 

Abilities:

 

Bunker: Summons a row of lancer shields which are placed down, creating cover for allies

 

Death swing: Comes toward the target attempting to hit it with a X000 damage strike.

 

Fall back: Orders his troops to retreat and take cover

 

Attack: Orders his troops to attack

 

He/She is invincible, the only way to damage him directly, is too shoot off his helmet, revealing a Vay Hek like face un-immune to damage.

 

Damage weaknesses:

 

Fire +++

 

Viral ++

 

Blast-

 

Radiation --

 

 

Drops:

 

Expel corpus

 

Heavy impact

 

Rage

 

Iron skin

 

Rare fusion core

 

Rare material of planet

get rid of the control aspect, and the invincibility. The invincibility makes him more annoying than enjoyable as an enemy, no one wants to HAVE to target 1 part of the enemy to kill him (note the corpus where their heads were basically immune; got fixed because of complaints)

 

Other than that, yeah it's a bit to dark and sounds a bit to strong, X000 is a REALLY high number, especially for the weaker frames like Ember. And of course the Bunker ability kind of has to go. If he's keeping it make one of his hands covered in the shield and he holds it in front of himself or something.

That's an awful small amount of armor for what looks like a heavily armored enemy, visually. I mean, if he's going to use Lech Kril's model, he should have more armor than a lancer, you know?

I'm also not entirely sure on the 'only take damage on headshots' thing. You don't want to punish players who don't have the twitch reflexes to nail a weaving and bobbing grineer head. Possibly make it so he takes reduced damage on anywhere but the head.

Alternatively, make it so you can shoot off his armor to expose vulnerable cloned flesh underneath. I know the mutons in the XCOM shooter worked like that and it was actually fairly interesting.

still looks pretty damn black, maybe change the lighting, that's likely the issue.

 

Hows this sound?

Level 25 base
850 health

600 armor (prechip)
10 armor (chipped).

300 damage per swing (2 seconds between swing?) hit causes stagger effect/knock back/knock down.

 

Has the ability to create grineer shield-wall, throw his manticore in a loop similar to Lech Krill, charge, and stomp (like all heavy grineer)

^K, here goes nuthin...

 

 

 

Mobility: Requires kinetic energy [Also known as juicing] to reach a speed equivalent to nova's. Also, will jump extremely high if you are on  the high ground, doing the shockwave power

 

New Abilities:

 

Shockwave: Jumps high, landing with a shockwave by fist

 

Weapon swap: Switches his weapons, the only difference is the elemental : Amphis=Electricity Manticore= Fire

 

Sacrifice: Grabs a close ally and drains them of there life, then becoming a pile of dust, gaining X health

 

Old ability description revamps:

 

Bunker: Places a row of X stationary shields for cover for himself and allies, also allowing troops to pick up there own shield and take charge

 

Fall back: Orders his troops to fall back, assuming what appears to be guerilla tactics.

 

Attack: Shouts a grineer war-chant, rallying his allies to attack enemies head on.

 

Death swing: Runs toward an enemy trying to damage it with his hammer, will get stuck on wall and/or [if hits danger environment] inflicts the respective status effect on self.
