Warframe Crashes Vlc Media Player To Desktop

It seems like quite an old bug going back to almost a year ago (at least April 2013, from those threads) :/

 

It's quite annoying cos when I play music a decent amount is music videos (that I'm obviously not watching while playing, it's minimised, so I don't get why Warframe makes it crash when it tries to play video files when it's not even visible o_O

 

I play Warframe in full full screen mode exactly to try stop other programs slowing it down and such :(

I sent in a support ticket and they said I'd have to contact vlc customer support. I ended up just setting warframe to windowed :(

really a vlc problem in general. happens with almost any game and that player. only way i've found around it was to use windowed maximized mode in games that support it. otherwise once you start the game in fullscreen you can alt+tab to desktop then start whatever you're playing on the vlc player. it may still crash when you exit the game again though.

i hade crashes on the recent event all the time at the same place & it's counted as fail :(

in settings in VLC you can go to the video tab and turn Enable Video off which seems to stop the crashing, but of course that means later you have to fiddle in settings to turn it back on again if you actually do want to watch a video/film :)
