Possible Rework For Raptor Boss Fight ? - Advanced Base Protection Under Aerial Assault (Added More Data)

TL; DR in the spoiler

Seriously.

How about a battle mission, where you have to defend a civilian zone, making use of A-A turrets (automatic or player-controlled), where there would be tons of explosions everywhere...

There could be ally units who would support us with ammo drops and by shooting at enemies too.

SOMETHING SPECTACULAR !

Kind of a defense mission but considered as a looong boss fight instead.

There would be an ally ship waiting somewhere to be launched against the mother enemy ship, so that one or two players could go destroy the threat from the inside while the others defend the base !

Wouldn't you love it ?

Initial situation

The Tenno squad comes to a civilian area, with an order from the Lotus : Protect it from an imminent assault.

When the first explosion is heard - Phase I

Before everything begins, the squad will be able to explore the base, in order to activate the A-A turrets, possibly give their secondary weapon to some civilians so that they wouldn't defend alone.

Most of the civilians will hide in bunkers, but some of them will be ready to fight.

Some will use their rifles, some will enter the turrets.

Suddenly a big mothership breaks the sky, and immediately begins releasing flying units (drones, big drones, etc) and some transport ships with 10 enemy soldiers inside each one.

Three major threats in the sky - Phase II

Three bosses equal to the Raptor threaten the base with heavy fire.

The first goal of the squad is to destruct at least two of them, to weaken the enemy forces.

They can use the A-A turrets (which could be destroyed) and are helped by the civilians.

Final blast - Phase III

When two of the bosses will be eleminated, a dropship will be prepared to launch into the enemy mothership.

Here, every squad member will chose if they want to stay and keep defending the base, or go into the mothership to stop the invasion from the inside.

If you stand in the base (team A) :

Enemies will continue falling from the sky until the mothership is destroyed, but no additional boss will spawn.

You basically keep protecting the bunker and the turrets.

- If you attack the enemy ship (team B) :

You begin a "full sabotage" mission. You will have to bring a viral datamass into the system of the ship, resulting in a first slow-down on enemy spawn rate on the civilian base. However, this will engage the ship on a different way, so that it couldn't crash on the civilians.
Then, you will have to destruct the generator in order to finish the sabotage.

Here begins a 10 minutes count down and the self-destruction of the ship.

On your way you are intercepted by a boss, and nothing will open until you kill him, or the other part of the initial squad comes to save you.

As soon as the generator is down, no more enemy will come to the civilian base. Remaining Tenno in the said base (team A) will be sent to an extraction point, and will enter the dying mothership.

They will have to resolve a series of hacks in the middle of enemy soldiers, in order to break the security of the ship, allowing the team B to join them at the extraction point.

7 hacks to succeed.

When the doors open, the team A can join the team B to help them kill the boss, or the team B can flee and rush to the extraction point.

The choice will obviously depend on the time remaining before the final blast.

Technical datas for Corpus mission :

"Raptor" boss stats and info

Shields : 1500

Health : 50 000

Armor : 100

Weapons : Hell fire missiles (similar to Hellion Grineer) ; Heat laser (punch-through objects and Tenno with continuous damage).

Behavior : Focuses on the bunker. The only way to prevent them from shooting at the defense target is to damage them enough to draw their attention.

Base defenses

Bunker :

80 000 HP ; armor 500

A-A turrets :

1000 HP ; armor 100  - can be repaired by a tech civilian if destructed.

Civilians : Rocket launchers (x4), rifles (x5), technicians (x2), medics (x2).

Health : 700.

Shields : 300.

Armor : 35.

No thanks, too Michael Bay for me.

Anyway, this sounds cool but will probably need a lot of work. U20 maybe?

I can't wait for U20 lolz.

I must admit it would be somewhat too much "Michael Bay" but I sincerely think this game lacks serious battle missions...

We do need a warzone type misión, DE has been talking about it a few times. Your idea of the new raptor is pretty good and dividing the group in 2 is pretty unique but what if everyone wants to go to the mother ship? how can you deside who will stay?

A few aditions:

there can go only two Tenno to the mothership since Lotus say that the Cibilians need all the help they can get.

Increase the Group size to 6. Cause leaving 2 to defend a bunker could get out of hand easily.

Its a pretty good idea for a new Game mode and boss fight nice job!

You could pair that whit the reworked COrpus units im working on here:

CORPUS FOR THE WIN!

Thanks for your support.

In my opinion, all four players should be able to go for the sabotage if they feel like it's okay.

If there are still enough "civilians" and turrets to defend, four players could manage to destruct the ship in time.

Let's say there would be a health bar about the bunker, so that players could easily know if they have to hurry hurry hurry up.

This mission has to be something you can finish different ways, depending on how you succeed on the first phases.

(your corpus thread is damn long, you spent so much time on it ! take my respect !)
