Tiny legs were inadequate for the job. Time and time again, this proved to be true. There was no time to weep, or to feel sorrow, as the pathetic creatures had to work harder to make up for their fallen brethren. The room reeked of feces; hamster wheels were lined side by side to fill the entirety of the room. Electrical wires were allowed to roam free across the cramped space. The only time a human would entire the musty room was to simply replace the poor laborers. Work was hard and they were growing tired. Soonthe hamsters would grow tired of it.

A man called Steve stared in to his computer screen. Occasionally, he would move to take a sip of coffee. But, mostly he played minesweeper and only tabbed out to the Warframe forums to seem busy. The air reeked of coffee from the hours he had to make up for his habits during the night. His eyes glanced at a link labeled ‘Dark Sector Feedback.’ His eyes lit up from this, he needed a good laugh in his system. Without delay, he moved his mouse and clicked the link. The page remained still; the pinwheel in the tab bar began to circle uncertainly. A bead of sweat began to leak from Steve’s forehead on to his cheek. He clicked his mouse again, and again at the white link. What came next created a look of pure horror on Steve’s face.

Steve narrowed his eyes at the offending words. His face had now began leaking sweat like a faucet.

“Error…. 404?” He began seething in his chair with anger.

Sheldon, bursted through the room of his office. Steve averted his gaze from the screen on to the stocky man.

“STEEEVEEE.” The man wailed. “T-t-thee SERVERS ARE DOWN!” The stocky man broke down in to tears.

“WHAT!” Steve barked fiercely. “DID YOU TRY RESTARTING IT!!”

“I DID! A—aagain, and again, and agaa-.” The man began wailing again. Steve shot him a harsh glare to stop. “What do we do steve!”

Steve took a serious gaze. He searched his mind for the answer. Years of schooling and researching surely would allow him to solve such a feeble issue.

“Did you try restarting it?” Steve said, confused.

They both shot their gaze up at the ceiling as the lights flickered off and on, until finally complete darkness basked in the room, with a bzzt sound.

“S-steve??”

This is a pick-a-path adventure! To continue, please select one of the following:

[ ] Travel to the generators to restore power to the building.

or
