De Charge Attacks Didn't Have To Leave

Before I start : I'm not complaining about not having a 1 shot kill button .

 

 

Now that's out of the way let me explain myself

 

 

Charge attacks could have remained in melee 2.0 but in a different form : heavy attacks. 

 

The R button is unused in melee mode ; seems like, a big waste of input.

 

Combos could be more diverse , and heavy weapons wouldn't suffer so much.

 

 you should still be able to deal a single powerful blow instead of trying to up your meter with a heavy weapon  combo (which is pretty hard to do if you're no rhino or trinity) and receiving a ton of damage.

What do you mean charge attacks "felt" heavier?

 

Also, while I'm at it, they'd have to entirely re-structure the physics engine AGAIN to bring them back, and re-work EVERY MELEE WEAPON  AGAIN to install them(no, they can't just "use the old stuff").

 

On top of all of that: DE has stat tracking on how much of each type of attack is used in each mission for various kills, so they actually know how many people are making kills with grakatas or galatines and whether or not they were using charge attacks.

 

So they know that virtually nobody was using them.

 

I really don't see how holding one button "feels heavy" compared to holding a different button. Hold a button for charge, hold a button to channel... what's the difference? If "it's a different button", well, fine, remap it. Not that hard.
