How Do You Turn Off Council Chat?

Its extremely distrubing while trying to play the game, it constantly pops up while in missions.

How do you turn it off?

I believe using the /s command will switch it to only squad chat.

There needs to be an option to turn this off. It's very disorienting/jarring having it constantly pop up even when playing solo!

 

I tried the /s command, it didn't work. :(

In all seriousness, though. Join a clan (or create one yourself) and switch the chat to Clan (press T in-game to activate the chat console, then click on Clan and enter)

I'm totally ok with chat when I'm finished with the mission and checking up on it while in the lobby (the solar system thing). The constant chat pop-ups tend to obscure the view in-game at the most inopportune times.

If you find your gaming section to be too small, try maxing out this setting;

It increases the.... well... field of view used for your game.
