Getting G3 Marks

I've run a single invasion mission about 10 times (10/5) and have not gotten marked. Am I doing something wrong? I know for sure I used up my last mark because the G3 talked to ME when I last saw it spawn.

You might have been ninja mark'd while you didn't know it-- that's probably the case, sometimes you don't see a message about it I've noticed.

 

Also, if I recall, the G3 sometimes messages players who aren't the target, it's all a matter of who gets the first transmissions from 'em if I recall. I haven't seen the G3 all too much but the impression I've gotten is that it can be hard to tell whose mark was actually used up just from their transmissions.
