After 50 hours of game play I thought it was about time I gave some feedback, and made a few suggestions.

 


There is a lot to love about Warframe. The maps are excellent with great detail, I especially love those maps that take an indirect path to a given objective, taking you up and down various levels via lifts and stairs etc. This breaks the action up nicely and, zip lines are a nice touch - but I do find them hard to explain as to why they are there etc... Those maps that take you through air vents and over pipelines are very nice.

 

I love the view of the moon outside the window of the prisoner cell. More chances to see a similar view would be good - reminding the players where they are.

 

Animations in Warframe are just simply awesome. Yea I'm talking about the Tenno wielding their blades in such a professional fashion - their acrobatics too are a joy to watch. My only problem with these things are that they happen so quickly - it's very easy to miss.

 

 

 

 

The AI in Warframe is interesting - I am a big fan of the Grineer - they take cover. They also effectivly flank you which is a mechanic I enjoy very much. The Corpus also take cover but arn't very good at it - and the infested simply die...

 

I have to admit I don't like the Infested at all - its a personal taste thing that I much prefer fully sentient hostiles.

 

I feel both the Grineer and the Corpus have a lot going for them in terms of future missions. The fact the Corpus are effectively researching new types of bots like the Jackal I find very exciting - this type of thing could lead the game anywhere in terms of different mission types/stories and different maps/locations. Such as: Infiltrate and disable Corpus R&D labs. Infiltrate and steal new Corpus robot blueprints. Infiltrate and disable/steal/infect a new state of the art Corpus AI.You can have similar concepts for the Grineer only for them it would be a more physical target - things like new weapons, new armor technology, new specialised units created to counter Tenno incursions, perhaps even new ship types whose development and construction needs to be stopped.

 

I haven't abbreviated as much as I would like to about new mission types - I did notice on one of your Q&A videos that you were talking about allowing players to write their own stories etc. May I suggest you create a sticky thread specifically for that purpose? That would allow you guys to cherry pick the ideas you like the most. Ideas on the current 'improving warframe' forum seem to get lost very quickly with so many different threads being made. A thread designed for ideas only and not responses to those ideas should keep everything in one place. Just a thought.

 

 

 


There is no denying that the current game play in Warframe works - very well too. I do have some pet peeves about it though - one being the speed at which it can be played. Sometimes I enjoy the rush of speeding through a mission - you can convince yourself that you need to rush, so that the response from the hostiles you are attacking does not overwhelm you. Get in, do the job, get out etc. But sadly that isn't true - players rush because they can. Personally, I feel it cheapens your game.

 

As many others have stated, the contacts system doesn't work very well - is it possible you could allow us to make our own channels instead of just the one channel we have now? We also need a system where four friends can enter the same mission together as a single unit. Do you have plans to allow more than four players into the same mission? Where and how do clans fit into Warframe game play? I think team based game play in Warframe is, so far, an untouched gem waiting to be polished. I've seen many ideas posted on the forum on how to facilitate team game play, perhaps this is where that stickied thread I mentioned could come into its own...

 

 

 

 

I have some ideas for team based stealth.

 

First off, I am not suggesting that you slow the pace of every mission in the game. That would be a clear mistake, since the game as it stands now is fast paced and many players love it. However I have seen a number of posts asking for 'chained missions', or at least a group of missions that are related to each other - to make it easy I'm going to call them Storyline missions. These missions will have the same storyline running through all of them - for say between 3 - 5 missions. This is where you can add the meat to the bones of Warframe - incorporate the lore of the world and tell the story etc.


Storyline missions would be slower paced and would rely on stealth more than normal missions. They are multi objective missions - the more objectives you complete the better the reward. Lets say mission A has four objectives. Objective one will be the easiest to complete - objective four the hardest. Lets say that storyline mission Alpha has four missions in the storyline. Mission A is the easiest to complete - mission D the hardest.

 

The more you complete the better the final reward at the end of the mission is the general idea. Perhaps stealth play is the way to control the number of hostiles you face on these missions, you could also give more or a better reward for pure stealth completions. Or perhaps completing a certain section of a mission unlocks a bonus objective which has the chance to drop very decent loot.


All in all I'm impressed - congrats to all at DE for making a very decent game.

I like the storylines mission idea. I would expand it though to include every stop off in every system leading to the oss encounter. Instead of the boss just taunting you in the boss map, he could be watching you the whole time. Trying to change your loyalty, that kind of thing. He could send assassins after you as you get closer to his home ship/planet.

Also after you would kill a boss for the first time you would get a link in your alert window that took you to a cutscene of all the remaining bosses of that particular faction discussing the assasination and how to deal with your tenno.

Might be cool for release. not now in beta though.

So...

You already know they plan for more mission types

You already know they plan to get more story based content

You already know they want to polish stealth gameplay

You already know they want to polish team gameplay

You already know they want to polish the chat and UI

 

While feedback is great, giving feedback that's already clearly been acknowledged by their team to work on...pretty much just beating the dead horse.

 

P.S. 4 friends can already enter a mission together...that's the entire point of inviting a friend into your game or joining on a friend in lobby/in game already...

Such as?

 

Would you like it to just magically group people together as they log on?

What more could you want besides being able to invite people and being able to join on friends and clan mates?

 

Yeah, the UI is a little shifty, but in terms of functionality...what else you expecting?

50 hours? people shouldnt be aloud to give feedback until theyre 100 hours in!

Back in my day none of this mamby pamby 50 hour crap was talked about.

You didnt even mention your play counter until youd crossed into triple digits.

I tell ya, kids today...

 

LOLOLOL
