Fast charge, reasonably high charge damage. It has better range and less damage compared to the Furax. It's a lot more niche than multi-hit weapons though, which tend to bring slightly lower single-target DPS but have higher single-attack damage and are better against crowds. That's probably the number one reason to use the Plasma Sword, though I haven't seen any numbers or estimates of how high its crit damage actually is.
